Honestly, I'd *really* love to see an adaptation of the War of the Worlds set in the time frame in which the actual novel takes place in - This late Victorian economy and war machines with all the dreadnoughts and steam engines against all-powerful alien menace. I love these kinds of battles between races of wildly different technologies and this would've been a prime example.
