For those who don't know: If you get stranded in deep snow during a bad storm or just before one, the best thing to do is dig a pit in the snow that is barely big enough for you to stand in. Deep enough your head is below the surface. Carefully climb in and get comfy. Since snow is a good insulator, and the pit is barely bigger than you, your heat will mostly stay in there, so you can actually survive for quite a while this way. Just wait until the worst of the weather has passed, then go and try to fish! Fishing is considerably more reliable than trapping, and it is not as risky to eat a raw fish as it is to eat raw meat! I hope this will help anyone who ends up in bad conditions. And even if you aren't in a snowy area, I hope the fact about fishing will be helpful. Have a good day.
