Incredible! Crazy how small that plant was in spring and now look! Are those bananas for cooking like plantains? Or is a Double Mahoi a Desert banana? and should I do a update of the flower dropping or when it’s all opened up?
It’s in the dwarf cavendish family, so basically a baby grocery store banana. I’ll probably pop one off this week and try a taste test. You should definitely make some shorts as it comes out. Would love to see what it looks like before it starts opening. And make a long video once it starts opening. The more shorts the better!
@@georgiafarmingwithfluevog wait your going to eat one of those? they don’t even have pulp inside! but do a video if you do try one! And ok I will do shorts now!
They died in the winter before ripening last year. Fruited too late. If you check my latest videos though, I have a dwarf namwah that flowered a few weeks ago and will definitely get to taste them.
@@frostylonewolf1700 Yes they will outgrow a pot outside during the summers. Will need to use something like a trashcan or put it in the ground. I am planning to overwinter around end of October here in Atlanta
About a year and a half. It was a 6” pup last July. I had it in a pot indoors over the winter and planted it outside in April around 2 feet tall. Now it fruited 5 months later at 6 feet

Probably as ripe as they will get. It's been in the 50's every night here
@@georgiafarmingwithfluevog same for me
is it possible for me to grow veinte cohol indoors overwinter i'm not sure cause it grows so fast
Yeah you definitely can! That’d be perfect to grow indoors near window over winter and then put outside in spring
@@georgiafarmingwithfluevog well its just they grow so fast like outdoors they would outgrow a large pot in about a couple of months
@@georgiafarmingwithfluevog what month do you overwinter bananas?

Thanx. I see the note about it being a Viente Cohol.... do you stop your fertilization process in the fall and winter?
@@debragray1631 this is a double mahoi, noy veinte cohol. I have my veinte cohol in a pot right now. Correct, I stop fertilizing around mid september
