Was never a Lady Gaga fan until I saw this movie. This performance is now one of my most favorite of all time. Her voice, and facial expressions..so raw yet so astonishingly beautiful...she was born to sing...on my repeat play list like 10 times per day......
they recorded the album in the scenes of the movie, what you hear in the album actually is the same record of the movie but with some adjusts. gaga is outstanding.
@@ruanneris8139 i don't think so... there are certain words and phrases she sang with different registers and intonation than the studio version, those are things that cannot be altered by pitch correction or post effects. Also the studio version definitely sounds like it was being recorded by a condenser mic, but in the movie scene she was using a dynamic mic.
The fact that they shot the performances during Gaga’s live performances, Coachella and her Joanne tour. They never recorded the songs in the studio and I think that’s amazing to show the talent
One of the greatest stage performances in modern music. True talent like this doesn't come around often enough but when it does it's that bit more special.
@pikie16: Oh yes: she's one of the greatest female entertainers in this era/generation; & I am elated we have L.G. with us here. There's no one that can remotely compare to Joanne. Nobody, today.
I really was never a fan of her music. A few songs were catchy, but I could never connect to her songs, but this just hits me deep in my soul. Became a fan of her talent and song writing after this. Wish she would do more of these type of songs. One of the most soulful, passionate songs I’ve ever heard. ❤️
I'm not a fan of lady gaga, nor was I aware of the existence of this film, but I admit that this music, this melody, this voice, this film scene touch me deeply. She is very beautiful and her facial expressions when she sings are adorable. I'm not an English speaker, but I love how the moment sounds: "Poets tryin' to write, We don't know how to rhyme, But, damn, we try".
@@emiliobello2538for reals lol. Plus this is an old film, this is just the “newer” version. I didn’t know it was an old film either, I guess it’s been made/filmed many times
I'm not saying it should be, I'm saying it is one of the best top 10 songs ever. She's not just singing to sing, she's singing with true emotion and expression.
Amen. This song is amazing. Ozzman aye.reminds me of a tim ozzman Allen, singer to rebourne lol. ✌️ On and honest side note. The past 9 days I can't get this song out of my head. I do love if I die tomorrow that's my wedding song. But I think it's her voice. And this video right here is the best. Rock on ✊✌️
Just that line "Always remember us this way" has so much meaning to the entire story. With any musical, the songs are taking screen time away from dialogue, so they have to fulfil the same goals of character development and driving the story forwards, and boy do they deliver. Also, when you find out HOW they had to film them, it is amazing the perfect shots they managed to capture under such incredible time pressure with no chance of a do-over.
Wow- your 100% on the money. Do you work in the music industry? Bradley Cooper took over a year to learn and write some of the soundtrack for "Star". I think he made a great version of this iconic movie- not just copying someone else's version. Lady G brought her best..
I am so mesmerised by just how beautifully powerful GaGa’s voice is I didn’t know she could sing and hit notes like that with no effort I’ve seen so many people on RUclips trying to cover this song and I promise you not one person could ballad this song as profoundly as Stefanie what a rare talent she is I love how she grooves and smiles as she sings it feels so emotionally charged got to say it’s one of the best if not the best song I’ve ever heard hands down 🙌🏻
When she points at him during the jumbotron footage, holy shit. Huge respect for Gaga after this movie. She was a bit out there in the 2000s but she's really turned into a performer for all ages.
I want someone in my life to believe in me like Jackson believes in Ally.🥺 as broken as he is Jackson gives her the confidence and love to literally shine like a sun.
This is the moment that the musical envelopes everything and it becomes this very vulnerable and yet powerful moment for her. She is sharing her soul which would be the scariest thing to do, yet slowly she begins to receive support and it just continues to grow and you almost cease to be in that moment because you're pure joy! (I would imagine that Gaga must have felt like she could fly while filming that scene. As a professional performer to tackle a different type of performance (film acting) while also performing to fans would equally feel very vulnerable in that place - this is why this is all so meta when you cast Gaga in this role instead of a "famous actress" who could be training to sing good enough. This is part of Gaga's experience in the music industry so its very personal to her. I totally understand WHY she would go after this role. It's brilliant. She's brilliant! Just, chef's kiss!
Her OTT look and costumes initially distracted me from the full extent of her vocal talent but the first time I heard her live I was blown away. Wow, this chick can SING.
When the sun goes down and we can’t play, the part of me that’s you and you that’s me will never die, because goodbye hurts and hello is the way, together we will save the day. Never a memory, a reminder of our stage, we carried the world and never choked, the peoples love is what we invoked.
You know I watched this movie when it came out, not really wanting to see it. It quickly became one of my all time favorites. I'm a small town country boy. I love country and rock. Never really liked lady gaga. Just wasn't my cup of tea. But this movie touched my soul as did her performance. I cried like a fckn bytch at the end of this movie. I have watched it several more times. Love all the music in this movie. Gaga is a beautiful woman that doesn't need all the stuff she wears, it just hides her natural beauty. Beautiful woman and a beautiful voice.
Sam Elliot is a legend, remember watching him with my grandfather as a kid. I don’t know how they got him in the new Yellowstone prequel with liberal ass Tim McGraw
I feel like the script is designed to make "The Shallow" and the song at the end the big "numbers" of the movie, but honestly this song and "Maybe its Time to Let the Old Ways Die" are far and away the best 2 songs in the film.
Vicente Gonzales 9-2015 to 6-2021 you remember this song and remember us... We tried hard or atleast I did.. but know 150%cant make you live me the way I loved you. Goodbye my king.. at one point for me it was one love.. I can only put up with so much.. xoxo Vicente of pueblo co😉
“The part of me that’s you, will never die” most favorite line
Best line ever😊
Awesome
Mine too!
That reaction from Lukas Nelson - "damn, bro"
Indeed

Bruh you're telling me I watched the whole movie without knowing that was lady gaga herself....
This version is so much better than the studio recorded / remastered version. Her voice is here so raw
Think that goes for all the songs on this movie tbh.
Raw and true
they recorded the album in the scenes of the movie, what you hear in the album actually is the same record of the movie but with some adjusts. gaga is outstanding.

You're right! Is the best version. (In reggae version is so good too)

From here on end no one can ever doubt Lady Gaga a gain,
Now can i get a thumbs up.

Yes! She sings and also she plays the piano so emotionally. Every accent has a reason, trully perfect!

One of the greatest performances I have ever seen in film. Top songs ever for sure.
True.
True emotion? Are you insinuating they are in love for real?
I'm not a huge fan but this woman can write some lyrics that just tell some amazing stories.

Unbelievable talent she is.
@@ryansnr true
Such High class Talent, composition, act, and still all modest . Rare nowadays.
THIS is the best song/performance of the film
The best female artist of all time...of all time!
She’s up there. Vocally no one can compete with Amy Winehouse.
After Whitney ❤
@@topshotkyy9777 I implicitly disagree with you. But you're entitled to your opinion.
Bradley Cooper wrote every song for this movie. He hit a Homerun getting Lady Gaga to play this part. Absolutely loved this movie!!!!!
Her voice even just listening to her talking in a conversation is a lullaby ❤
Shes great everything is perfect how she moves and sing
she totally blew me away with this movie. not just another singer making a movie. She is fucking talented!
When she points at him during the jumbotron footage, holy shit. Huge respect for Gaga after this movie.
She was a bit out there in the 2000s but she's really turned into a performer for all ages.
This is simply what they call perfection.
I can watch this over and over again.
I love this song... i never get tired listening...
It means so much--
The best song ever written
Raw, authentic, pure, heartfelt.
Killer Version ... I dig watching her kick that shoulder back after singing, "poets tryin to write" she's so deep into it
She is such a great singer with tremendous range and tone
I want someone in my life to believe in me like Jackson believes in Ally.🥺 as broken as he is Jackson gives her the confidence and love to literally shine like a sun.
Her voice is amazing!! Love her Italian face! Beautiful
@doctorjerkII6125, Italians do it better. She sure proves that....

I didn't realise just how good she is.
Well, isn't SHE just beautiful - also her song and just everything is perfect.
Song I love
They're both incredibles actors, but Bradley Cooper's face in 2:03 says so much man
I agree
I don’t even think he’s acting in that moment- imagine really seeing her like that, we’d all be looking like Bradley!
If Lady Gaga's first songs were this Cool, ugh!.. all would have been in my Playlist
I love this whole thing… the song.. every line and her performance….brilliant performance 🥲😅🤘🏻😏
Her OTT look and costumes initially distracted me from the full extent of her vocal talent but the first time I heard her live I was blown away. Wow, this chick can SING.

She is so good.
"The part of me that's you will never die" ... Genius
Incredible movie that makes me cry every time I watch the damn thing. Raw emotions.
When the sun goes down and we can’t play, the part of me that’s you and you that’s me will never die, because goodbye hurts and hello is the way, together we will save the day. Never a memory, a reminder of our stage, we carried the world and never choked, the peoples love is what we invoked.
