Thank you for posting this. I liked using my Pocket Finsbury as a wallet, but the rings just didn't work for me, so I stopped using it. I removed the rings this evening, but I'm going to leave the metal spine in place, so my "Filodori" will have a firm backbone. I just have to file down the rivets a bit before I add the elastic straps.
I just did this with an A5 Malden. It's perfect!. Thank you for the tip.
Thank you for sharing and creating this video. I was going thru my planners in order to get rid of the ones that had too small of pages but my pink one was in such beautiful condition. I thought if only I could take out the rings and put midori like inserts in it that would be awesome. But I had no clue as to how I could remove the rings. Thanks again.

Please make a short follow-up video on this. I'm just curious, after you've used your FrankenFilo for a while, if you would change anything or have any regrets. I want to do this, but I'm not quite ready to commit.

Could it work with changing rings? I would like to change 23 mm rings to 30 mm size. Is it possible?

great video ... now i want a Malden (but no way i can afford one!) ... if you had removed the elastic band on the back of your Moleskin it would have slid in MUCH easier. .... this is a year later, how's this setup working out for you now?
Brianna V.B. I had he malden in the 3 sizes at one time, then I sold the a5, but i got all of them on ebay for a fraction of the price, I wouldn't be able to afford it from the filofax website
