Good morning, I've had the Affinity Suite for a few years now. I'm trying to get away from Adobe Lightroom but I'm finding it difficult to understand the workflow with Affinity Photo. At present, in Lightroom, I simply import the raw files from my SD card, sort out the obvious rubbish images and delete them then I'm left with the files that are worth editing/keeping. I do a bit of basic editing, add some keywords and possibly move images between collections but I don't need or want to do much else. Because Affinity Photo has no cataloguing and seems to need me to create two files, I can't see the benefit of using it over Lightroom. Am I missing something?

For sorting the catalog, Photo Mechanic is a good option. I wish it had a better RAW editor.

I don't doubt Affinity can do RAW edits one at a time. Can it do a batch of RAWs for my wedding workflow of hundreds of images? Currently I use Adobe Camera Raw because of the batch options. I cannot use Affinity for one at a time editing on large projects....though I am actively looking for Adobe alternatives.

I haven't done this myself, but I recall reading about there being an option to apply Affinity Macro to a batch job. A Macro is essentially just a sequence of operations you record which are to be applied to a photo, create one of those. Then you open a new batch job in File -> New Batch Job, select the files you want, choose your custom Macro from the "Available Macro" list, and then you just press "OK" is what I assume. As I said, I haven't tried this myself but it should ideally be that easy to apply the same processing to multiple photos.
