i just found this video because i just ordered this Ibanez model on musician's friend. i really apprieciate this man, because im also starting to work out again, so it's nice to see a guitar review as well as getting health tips!
5 way switch with two humbuckers would mean positions 2 and 4 would be coil split. So he said center position would split the coils idk that would use both the humbuckers
NICE PLAYIN I JUST PICKED UP THE SAME GUITAR IT ONLY SAYS RG3EX1 NO FM IS IT SAME GUITAR ? MY NECK PICKUPS SAYS IBANEZ DISIGNED BY EMG BUT THE BRIDGE SAY NOTHING AT ALL IS HOW YOUR IS THANKS
@cmc47834 Thanks. Sounds like the action is just too low. Maybe just on that one string. You should be able to raise it by turning the two really small allen screws on the string saddle in the bridge.
I was gonna get this bit I got the shecter Damien elite instead. Looking back, I really didn't need it and should have gotten an ibanez. To save some bucks becuase ivkike rhe feel of these. In happy with my elite though. Active emgs:D Though it's 150 more than this
i dont know where i could get this guitar, but a big problem for me maybe would be the no whammy bar, i use it an odd one or two times, i suppose i could get this and get a strat maybe :S
Horhayj. The necks on Ibanez guitars can be confusing. The guitar here in the review I did, does have a Wizard II neck. There is also the Original Wizard, Prestige Wizard, Prestige Wizard II, Wizard 7, and the new Wizard III, which has basically replaced the Wizard II. I think there might be another one for the newer 8 string guitars. The main difference between the Prestige and standard Wizards is the bubinga strip and the frets. The dimensions are similar and in some cases exactly the same.
@cmc47834 No idea why your strings won't wrap around the post. As for the plucking sound on the high E, you could try raising the saddle just on the high E string by the bridge. Is it a fret buzz kind of sound?
i found you thru youtube and i'm a fan of yours. There will always be haters, you have a vision and passion for music and pursuing your dream.. Keep moving thru the journey!!...
Kickass guitar man, and whats wrong with being stacked like Arnold? does it really make a difference if some1 has no muscles or big muscles....No, Good job keeping your health up, unlike 90% of us americans... actually i think i'm gonna go bomb some weights and shread some poundage, thanks for the inspiration Maxxx!!!
I have this model. Great guitar for the price. I'm dying to check out the new RG421RW (mahogany body; rosewood top; natural wood finish). But, I REALLY want a Jackson PC-1.
You can just buy one that already has one. But speaking from experience, floyd rose setups are a pain in the ass!!! I have an ESP M100fm the guitar itself is nice, but i have to pay 80 bucks to get the floyd rose restrung and intonated, in the end its your decision but I would recommend not getting a floyd rose IF your not willing or do not know how to do it yourself.
Thanks for the video; I am very much a beginner, but I am about to buy this guitar because I think it's right up my alley (looking to play punk/metal type stuff). So I appreciate you showing how it would sound when hooked up to good equipment. I am on a loaner Squier right now, so this will be a massive improvement.
@MaxxxwellC kinda. if i look close at it it looks like the string is resting right on the fret and it doesnt ring or anything when i hit the string. btw nice videos ur pretty good
@Gingerlord01 floyd roses are very simple to use if u learn how. i personally find it better to have than not have just in case a song calls for it. they hold tune much more effectively than any hardtail or strat style.
I have this guitar and an Ibanez Prestige that does actually have a Wizard II neck. The RG3EXFM1 does not have a Wizard neck. It's just a normal middle of the road maple neck. Not as thin as a Wizard, nor has it the bubinga wood strengthening inserts or satin finish. Not tryin' to be a hater, on the reviewer, just wanted to clear that up.
@MaxxxwellC Dude i have that same kind but it sucks putting new strings on it. I bought a 6 pack of Dunlops and ive wasted 1 g strign and 2 high and low Es. It doesnt wanna wrap around the post. And some reason, my high e makes the werid plucking sound around the 3rd fret and above. Any ideas whats wrong man, I'd apreciate it
Yo MaxxxwellC, I have this guitar, I bought the Blackberry finnish then LOVED it SO dang much I got the transparent grey one like a few days later!..hahaha. Just wanted to say this guitar is the biggest steal EVER and that I'm a fan of your awesome skills!
I think it sounds fuller and bassier with the hardtail. I have found most RG's to be thin and sometimes shrill and at the minimum still very trebley. I always have to change all my settings (boosting mids an bass) when switching to an RG (with trem). Its great for leads that cut through a muddy mix, but often tough to get that full les paul, or p90 rhythm sound. Dying to get my hands on a hard tail as I think the first two wizard necks are the easiest playing necks ever!
@Zimtack You could...but it would require a lot of modifications to the body. It would be easier to just buy an RG that already has one. You could probably pick up an RG320 for 200-300 bucks and you'd be set.
I use pretty standard stuff. MetRX 100% Whey, Gaspari Superpump Max, fish oils, glucosamine and chondroitin, muli-vitamin, glutamine, and free form aminos.
I didn't even know you had video's with your band back when you had your Mohawk...lol awesome,anyway I love your reviews I'm always trying to get people to pick up a guitar...
Just scored one cheap. 🎸 It's so BAD it's actually been to jail ( Las Vegas / Clark County Inmate inventory sticker/ # he he ) Your stamp of approval confirmed my thoughts upon playing it. Didn't know you ever had short hair. Thought u were born with long hair & guns ROFL ✌
@Gingerlord01 hey!!! problem solved!!! check out the Ibanez RG4EXFM1its this guitar, but with trem, and mid pickup!!! thats the one im getting! fucking kick ass! ive tried it, and its AMAZING!!
Oh...one question I had...your obviously a body builder (I use to powerlift) I really love weight lifting and I've gained tons of muscle on MASS-XXX. I was just wondering (only if you don't mind telling) what kind of suppliments you use?
@SKYNYRD489 Saw that nobody has responded, thought I might be able to help you. I use the RG3EX1. It's an older model, but features essentially the same specifications as the EXFM1, minus the 5-way switch. My RG3EX1 only has a 3-way selector. Not too sure about your bridge pickup, as both of mine say "Designed by EMG." Did you pick up your guitar from a store?
Nice dude! I'm definitely missing having a hardtail around. Sometimes it's nice to do octave bends and NOT have the desired note drop with the bridge. Heh, and way to call out the dumb ass. I dig the new segment. XD
I would like to comment on the comment you had about your muscles. Some people are just Petty and idiots. I struggle with my weight my whole life. You don't have to have big muscles to be a good person. Don't think you need to eat mussels to be a good person no matter what you look like big or small fat short. It doesn't make you a good or bad person. What all this has to do with playing guitar I have no idea. Some people just need to grow up. I played guitar for 35 years I can hang with the big boys. And no but it gives a s*** about what you look like. It's about talent and drive not about what you look like
@maggot6639 i cant stand floyyd rose xD but thanks, i was looking at, Ibanez RGR421EXFM (ino there no trem but ill have to see :P) Ibanez ART 320 Blueburst or a Ibanez SA260FM. Ibanez make shit loads of stuff :P i may have a look at some floyd rose, but i general they just plain annoy me :S
Yes this guitar is a steal. I own one and except for the tremolo it blew away my prestige. Intonation and feel are great and it doesnt get out of tune. Badass guitar for sure.
Buy this!!!!!!!! It owns any guitar in its price range.
I have this one and the rg2ex2 in white. Love them.
Searched for vids on RG3 and this popped up. Wow Max ... LOL! Really is a good vid from the past though.
great review I am buying one and Ill add rhe Black Winter humber sweet neo metal prog guitar
Maxxxwell i see you have a Jackson Kelly on the wall in this vid i have a jackson kelly crimson swirl paint job on it and it plays like a demon
i have this guitar.. it is great.. .. good review
i just found this video because i just ordered this Ibanez model on musician's friend. i really apprieciate this man, because im also starting to work out again, so it's nice to see a guitar review as well as getting health tips!
I bought love it better than the omen 6 I have the V8 and V7 humbucikers easy to shred and even the blues sound sweet
lou ferigno decent review u got any guitars with scalloped frets
5 way switch with two humbuckers
would mean positions 2 and 4 would be coil split. So he said center position would split the coils idk that would use both the humbuckers
Holy cow Max! I’ve never seen you with short hair! 14 years ago. Wow.
NICE PLAYIN I JUST PICKED UP THE SAME GUITAR IT ONLY SAYS RG3EX1 NO FM IS IT SAME GUITAR ? MY NECK PICKUPS SAYS IBANEZ DISIGNED BY EMG BUT THE BRIDGE SAY NOTHING AT ALL IS HOW YOUR IS THANKS
Hey thanks man. Yeah, these guitars kill! I've used this exact guitar many times to record and it always delivers.
wow great quality, what kind of cam r u using?
Holy shit he was even more buff before
Youth!
Glad to have this guitar series in Grey burst. Well received gift and I’ve owned for several years now. Good for practice and on stage.
Loved u on Jersey Shore
Thanks brah!
@mqm333 i agree being that i play a rr5 jackson
@cmc47834
Thanks. Sounds like the action is just too low. Maybe just on that one string. You should be able to raise it by turning the two really small allen screws on the string saddle in the bridge.
@MaxxxwellC i heard there very poorly built lou ferigno is urs pretty sturdy
You finnaly did a review of it, it really helped me understand this guitar more. thanks
hey, can you specify the whole 5 way switch thing. because i don't usually see a guitar with 2 humbuckers that has a 5 way switch
@kaynek00l
I have one, but I doubt I will review it. It's not a regular production guitar. Thanks.
I was gonna get this bit I got the shecter Damien elite instead.
Looking back, I really didn't need it and should have gotten an ibanez. To save some bucks becuase ivkike rhe feel of these.
In happy with my elite though. Active emgs:D
Though it's 150 more than this
Hey Maxxx, what's the story behind that Kelly on the wall behind you? I don't think I've seen it in any of your other videos.
Strange I have one just like yours but it only has a 3 way switch ?
i dont know where i could get this guitar, but a big problem for me maybe would be the no whammy bar, i use it an odd one or two times, i suppose i could get this and get a strat maybe :S
@MaxxxwellC are they decently built LOU FERIGNO
and also lou ferigno man have u ever thought about getting a whammy pedal?
You Rock Maxxx!!! Now I see you have other ones I wanna check out too.
Horhayj. The necks on Ibanez guitars can be confusing. The guitar here in the review I did, does have a Wizard II neck. No push-pull. Yes, this is a great all around guitar, as long as you don't need a trem.
@cmc47834
No idea why your strings won't wrap around the post. As for the plucking sound on the high E, you could try raising the saddle just on the high E string by the bridge. Is it a fret buzz kind of sound?

Oh ok awesome! Right on! Thank you very much!
Yup im going to buy one now! I've been wanting a new Ibanez for a while now. Great video man. you rock
What was the original MSRP on this guitar?
@MaxxxwellC i am really thinking about getting one do u recommend it and i forgot to say LOU FERIGNO
you bench press those stacks in result you have those scary biceps
Kickass guitar man, and whats wrong with being stacked like Arnold? does it really make a difference if some1 has no muscles or big muscles....No, Good job keeping your health up, unlike 90% of us americans... actually i think i'm gonna go bomb some weights and shread some poundage, thanks for the inspiration Maxxx!!!

Do a video of this guitar again
those stacks must shake the walls in there!

@ImThatGuy629
I think it would be a GREAT choice. There are also some ESPs (LTDs) and Deans which are good and in that range.
I think it sounds fuller and bassier with the hardtail. I have found most RG's to be thin and sometimes shrill and at the minimum still very trebley. I always have to change all my settings (boosting mids an bass) when switching to an RG (with trem). Im thinking about trading in my Fender Standard Stratocaster for this.. decisions decisions..
I have the very same one! Love it~
if your a shredder, you won't have any regrets.
Lovin' the fucking wall of death behind you xD
Sweet im buying this guitar in a week, I need your muscles
haha one of the very catchy names that ibanez has come up with. he seemed serious whe he said it. great review :)
Tone on your amp sounds like balls
I would but the Kelly is in pieces! It's a project guitar.
Does it have v7 and v8 pickups on it?
yeah.
Great review man. (Hits suscribe button)
It has a wizard II.
Honestly, bro, who the heck has 2 full stacks in the house!!! Hilarious.
@MetallguitarRock Binary Code?

@ebolahash
Good balls or bad balls?
@kaynek00l
I've got one! It kicks ass.

Do you do curls right before you press record? classic

hey does the Kramer has small or medium frets?...........i got the fr424 and it has small frets.....kinda sucks for bending notes
@MrMatyboy3000 His arms got like that after carrying in those Behringers
review the Kelly......
if this has a 5 way switch does the tone knob act as a push pull? Do you recommend this as an all round guitar for intermediate players?
Nice dude! I'm definitely missing having a hardtail around. Sometimes it's nice to do octave bends and NOT have the desired note drop with the bridge. Heh, and way to call out the dumb ass. I dig the new segment. XD
Yeah, that frets on the Kramer and not that big. Like Mediums. Kind of a boner killer.
I would like to comment on the comment you had about your muscles. Some people are just Petty and idiots. I struggle with my weight my whole life. Plz...... just stick to body building
no rating system on this video, so just letting you know you (used) to look like someone on the jersey shore tv show.
i would love to be your neighbor
\m/
@rzrkrzr Not with those skills.lol.
Yes this guitar is a steal. I own one and except for the tremolo it blew away my prestige.
Intonation and feel are great and it doesnt get out of tune.
Badass guitar for sure.
