This instructor is a godsend. I've watched tonnes of lectures on RUclips but this man is by far the best one. Can't thank you enough!

This channel and Rich Radke are the best for learning the basics.
Very grateful for his effort, and a frenchman ofcourse

FIR filter is described by the difference equation. y(n) = x(n) + x(n − 2) + x(n−4) Compute phase response and group delay

When you say 'distortionless' do you mean a system with constant delay at all frequencies?

i kinda think that there should be a bit of an intro to this video that explains intuitively what the math is describing.

Thanks! Can you explain why group delay related to differential phase over differential frequency?

SO group delay is rocket science. Got it.....Seriously though, what level of mathematics do I need to know to understand this stuff.

The first derivative is Differential Calculus, but the rest of it is all Algebra and Trig. But to understand Signal and Systems and DSP lectures you gotta have those down tight. Get your Algebra and trig down to the point where they seem simple or these courses will seem impossible. I had my math courses 5 years ago and I have already forgotten most of this stuff. I stupidly threw my textbook and class notes away thinking I would remember all that stuff. Thank God for Matlab.
