No they dont check it periodically. They only check when we leave.. if there is any complaint we can inform the hausmeister.. I keep it clean by myself

Its really hard to find accomodation in Berlin since it is a big city. But the only way is to message to private ads from some sites like wg gesucht, wg suche and to apply in studentenwerk.
