As for brutal death metal this year, I'd have to shout out to Cephalotripsy and their album Epigenetic Neurogenesis, also label mates on New Standard Elite: Despondency's album Matriphagy.

In a year where I was not as much invested in the metalcore scene as I used to be when I was younger, 156/Silence and Boundaries were two of the very few highlights from that subgenre in the year of 2024. Pretty stoked to see them on your list, Brad!
Gonna have to go check out these bands, not a lot of the brutal death metal stuff on banger and i forget it exosts sometimes, not my go to genre as i gets a bit repetitive for me personally but if i need something heavy and crushing its nice to have.
metalcore and deathcore are peak, they are the definitive evolution, it was meant to happen, and it is beautiful, they combine all the genres so well, especially death
Uhhhh they are the most repetitive and boring and uninspiring contrived garbage genres of all time... not a peak, more like an abyss... but yeah, the same riffs, vocal styles and song structures over and over are not remotely interesting to me. I like bands that sound distinct from others and defy genre boundaries, or define new ones, and write great, memorable songs and albums filled with authenticity and creativity and that resonate lyrically (ideally even through intelligible vocal styles, at least some of the time).
