I cannot believe that they made Kevin’s voice AI in this video, it almost sounds like it was voiced by a completely different person that sounds nothing like Kevin.
Something you missed is that his Korean War wingman, Ted Williams, was behind the scenes at the Cape for both of Glenn's launches to see him off, the Mercury mission in 62 and his return to space on the Shuttle when he was 77.
2:45 I'm glad this works, but could you imagine the first attempt? "Hey look, I know you're really dizzy and maybe nauseous but let me just move you around, I think it'll help.". I suppose if you have unending vertigo you'd probably willing to try anything.
So I had the same thought a lot of people have but I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt. Went and looked up some podcast episodes and Matt definitely sounds different here. I'm willing to chalk it up to presenter voice rather than AI (podcast vs video essay after all) but it gives me the same sense of uncanny disquiet most AI voice does. Can't really put my finger on what's off but definitely soemthing. It's a shame cause the topic is really interesting and I liked listening to Matt on the podcast. However the video needs more dynamic narration. If this is indeed not AI then maybe a other take or two would go a long way, I'll give the next video a shot! Edit: having listened to the whole video I gotta say the narration is noticeably better in the back half, I believe it's real. Probably just growing pains in a new style. Overall I liked the video!
4:55 Wouldn't there be a long tradition of this condition in spaceflight people (I dunno who I can legally call astronaut right now) since then if that was due to entering outer space?
Hey Blake -- nope, Kevin's working on the next two documentary and tech videos. I'm Matt, I've worked with Kevin on Vsauce2 for 10 years and co-host The Create Unknown podcast with him, and now we also work together on Popular Science. I've had this short story video series idea for a while, and it's great to have it fit with PopSci. tl;dr: does not sound like Kevin because it's Matt

Ok, that's a nice theory, but do you have 200+ podcast episodes of proof to back up your claim? Probably not!
Shoot, ya got me there.
That sounds like something an ai would say....

Hope this channel doesnt die again
Dang! I knew about John Glenn's first space mission, but I didn't know any of that other stuff. He was awesome!
Can't believe Ive never heard of this man before. He was in another category than most! What a life!
Wait... This is Matt?
ong Matt and Kevin sound like you could be twins... Wild.

I hope i never hit my head reel hard🤞
Proud to call Ohio my home, go Buckeyes!
"Drive, drive on down that field..."

John Glenn was a United States Marine Corp Pilot. Not Army Air Corps.

Kevin or death
Kevin's voice as AI?! If so not sure how to feel about this
Its not good, Regular voice much better. I dont care if it takes longer to record the video Its much better with a real voice.
This is the voice of Matthew Tabor. He is in fact an AI

Hey Z-Ren, it's a real voice, just not Kevin's. :) I (Matt) co-host The Create Unknown podcast with him and have worked on Vsauce2 for 10 years.
Kevin sounds kind of different on this video
Agree, sounds AI generated. If that's the case, It should seriously be disclaimed that this video makes use of AI voice.
if AI stands for Aging Intellect, this is 100% an AI generated voice
