Great video Ryan! In watching others do baseball card reveals I’ve heard many of those guys mention that SGC grades heavily on centering and eye appeal. I do think they’re not as strict as PSA concerning corners and edge wear. They’re definitely much more consistent than PSA and I like getting my cards back in two weeks from SGC. I think you’re right on the Koufax, I could easily see it getting a 5.5 or 6 on this submission. Take care my friend!

The only time I sent cards to PSA it took three months to get them back. In my opinion, that’s far too long. Vintage cards just look better in tuxedos in my opinion. I’m about to try purchasing some mid-60s Mays and/or Aaron cards in recently graded PSA 5 or 6s, cracking them out, and submitting them to SGC to see if they’ll grade higher like my ‘67 and ‘71 Aaron cards did. Many of the guys I mentioned before also feel PSA is undergrading many cards right now. It makes sense to me to crack an undergraded card, submit it to SGC, and if it comes back in a higher grade you’ve usually gained significant value AND it looks so much better in a SGC holder.
I do the same thing and those are good choices. If you want a better chance at a 6 send the Koufax to PSA if you're positive it has no wrinkles or creases, they are easier on centering. Great eye on the Yastrzemski as well. SGC is great for the rest, they'll be back quick but they always will nail you on centering. PSA won't so much so worth the 2 month wait. I know an SGC exec and he says the research team and graders dislike the "pull tabs". Right from his mouth, you mentioned" good graces". This should go well, looking forward to the results. Also, when you cut the sleeve, you need to slide the card gently in left to right from the notch/slit or you'll ding or dogear your left corner left and right. I prefer a sharp knife or exacto blade and slice straight down the seam on the right edge about 3/8 inch - straight down. Then you can spread open the entire sleeve. Just be Very careful with the bottom edge of cards when sliding them in fro right to left. Also enter the card into sleeve starting from the card's bottom left corner. I ruined 100s of cards before a card shop guy taught me that in 10 seconds with a pocket knife. Great stuff and best of luck on the grading!

HGA is good. FYI and they do not want tabs attached to the sleeves. I've been doing this for years.
