Hate it when people do that. Leave a car/truck out in the elements and refuse to sell it saying" I'm gonna fix it up....someday. Years and years pass, it deterioates , and they still won't sell it.
@@ChunkeyMonkey40yes Warner Bros usually spray painted the interiors tan but there was many scenes throughout the series that they slipped up and had black interiors. So one cannot say that this is truely not a lost survivor from the first few seasons of the show . There is no real proof to prove either side of the argument .

The current owner said he found it in junkyard and sat there many years before he could talke them into.selling it. There was a guy close to my mom's house he had 4 or 5 wrecked ones in his back yard. he would wreck one the go find another body and build another. I need to go over and see if he still lives there and if he still has them.
I really think general Lee car is extremely awesome ever I think I am a huge fan of The dukes of Hazzard country I really think it's the best character on the show is amazing ever nice keep up good work I even have the dukes of Hazzard DVD show is fantastic love it alot

The car is stunning. I would love to buy a 1969 Dodge Charger myself and wrap it like the general when I’m old enough to drive, but it’s way to expensive here. Over $50,000 for sure. My dad owns a p6 Ltd. it was old and wrecked but we did it back up. New interior, new windows, (the electric windows on that thing I tell ya) some new doors and she was good as new. Was the car you bought expensive?
this is not mine I wish it was I saw it at Cooters Place in Nashville Tennessee at The Hazzard run. These cars are so high here I want one but will probably never have it. I hope you find you a cool car to fix uo and customize ive seen some of the jump cars use Ford crown vics with charger body built over the top of it.
There's 323 general Lee's made for the series. My 1977 4x4 F150 Ranger XLT with twin fuel tanks and vinyl roof Laredo package from the factory is one of 150 made. It was sitting for 6 years before I saw it.

I just dont understand why you want to badmouth this man car he's not bothering you. The owner was very positive person and was happy with it and that's what's really matters not your opinion. No Proof it was in the show but it was found in Georgia in a junkyard but neither were the 20 plus or minus General Lee's (I cant remember how many were there that day). I went to Cooters Place to see all the cars doing the Hazzard Run Deputy Enos, Sheriff Little, and Cooter were there and they didn't mind him driving this car with them so I guess it'll be ok to keep enjoying it.
The wheels are a dead giveaway it was used in the show those are the original 80s rally wheels that were used cause today wheels like that they don't look the same

Not only is the 01 painted on but the dimensions of the 01 appear to be close to correct. When people built driver quality replicas in the 80's and 90's before the internet came along and allowed fans to network, Some simply made an educated guess as to the dimensions of the 01 and flag and painted them on in their back yard! In some cases the dimensions of the 01 where way off and in others it was close! Even though this car may or may not be a real General Lee used on the show, older General Lee replicas with patina are cool...

Ted Stevens with the Charger Club documented all of the cars used in the series. Warner Brothers kept good records fortunately. There are many, many orange Chargers that look like the General. Painted numbers don't matter. Look for many layers of paint especially at the flag and numbers. The cars in the series were touched up constantly and they didn't bother with making it pretty as long as it looked good on camera.
General lee one was found in junk yard as well. When show was over they sold them off. We had a guy in my hometown had 6 replicas in his yard he would crash one then build another. The owner of this car tells story in video of how he found it.
I bet he shows up in Luray Virginia at Cooters place for The Hazzard Run in October 14-16. Thats what he was doing both Times I saw him. looks like this one is just a car show and not a trip from Cooters to Cooters.

Id save everyone of them chargers from being tossed into the scrap heap. They are rare and who cares they have rust. Always fab stuff and make the car even better. If i ever find one u can bet ill save it.
@@RIPSRIDES57 The man is probably referring to the stupid vertical aspect ratio. Shoot pictures and video in the traditional horizontal format and it will look much better. THis way looks terrible.
@@gregorykern9679 I think I clicked wrong setting on the editor as well i want to buy a nice video camera but being disable most of my budget pays regular bills and any extra i try to spend on my car. I just got a new laptop and will download better editing tools . I went to this event all I had was my phone at time and was new to this editing thing which is hard to do on the phone.. I hope with laptop I can do better.
@@RIPSRIDES57 Sorry that I was so critical. My point was that the tall and narrow aspect ratio looks really bad on everything except a phone. All computer and TV screens are wider than they are tall. Images shown on them look better when the screen is filled out the same way. Simply rotating the phone 90 degrees allows for the proper aspect ratio. Being disabled shouldn't make a difference since I'm sure that your mind is still as good as ever. Thank you.

It's a shame to leave a Charger in such terrible condition. The "patina" trend is just an excuse to avoid spending the money needed to repair the body and apply a proper paint job by people that can't do the work themselves or pay a real skilled craftsman to do the work for them.

If anyone knows '69 Chargers; Look at the front fender... It has a rectangular marker light! (They put them on the 1970 models)... Never believe a car owner selling a vehicle without documents!
John 69 and 70 had the rectangular side marker lights, 68 was round, on 69 the part around the marker was painted the body color, 68 and 70 it was chrome around it.

Its not from the TV show, the interior would be 100% tan, it isn't. They never used any car without a tan interior

That just seals in the rust and it'll rot faster. It's most likely a copy someone did and would be best to fix it right.
