    Not only is the 01 painted on but the dimensions of the 01 appear to be close to correct. When people built driver quality replicas in the 80's and 90's before the internet came along and allowed fans to network, Some simply made an educated guess as to the dimensions of the 01 and flag and painted them on in their back yard! In some cases the dimensions of the 01 where way off and in others it was close! Even though this car may or may not be a real General Lee used on the show, older General Lee replicas with patina are cool...

    Ted Stevens with the Charger Club documented all of the cars used in the series. Warner Brothers kept good records fortunately.
    There are many, many orange Chargers that look like the General. Painted numbers don't matter. Look for many layers of paint especially at the flag and numbers. The cars in the series were touched up constantly and they didn't bother with making it pretty as long as it looked good on camera.

      It probably was from the show I dont think warner brothers really kept up with which cars went where after they were done with it so its hard to say .Who knows if they were being honest about cars they no longer cared about.

    If anyone knows '69 Chargers;
    Look at the front fender... It has a rectangular marker light! (They put them on the 1970 models)...
    Never believe a car owner selling a vehicle without documents!

      John 69 and 70 had the rectangular side marker lights, 68 was round, on 69 the part around the marker was painted the body color, 68 and 70 it was chrome around it.
