I hate the new crew system change, and WG's reasoning for why the system needed to be changed is ridiculous. They had a system that was good, and easy to understand. Another thing that infuriates me is that if you have a tank, get the next tier and move the trained crew, you can't recruit a new 0 skill 100% trained crew member for the old tank to backfill. So now moving the well-trained crew up to the next tier leaves the lower tier tank without a crew, and without a way to get one without spending gold. UUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHH!
Agreed - WG are milking the players for cash. The more you pay for gold, the faster you can buy the training books and so on. I dropped out of that economy a while ago. If I ever play that game, it is just to remind myself how broken it is. I heard someting about converting crew skills because of another rework of the guys in the barracks or something like that recently too. Just pure theft or time and effort.
In that first clip, if you do the math on view range. If the Hellcat is using Brothers in Arms, Concealment, Tank Camo, Field modification for concealment after firing, and food he is 11.1% camo. For the Pz. III to not spot him, it means he isn't using binoculars, and does not have brothers in arms and spotting skills. If he did, he would have been spotted.

WG is ALWAYS fixing things that are not broken, MM and RNG is what needs fixing and they know it. Crew change was not needed and opposite of what they say and made it more complicated not simpler.
The new crew skills system gives with one hand, as well as takes away with the other. For instance, EVERYBODY can get free crew. however, players have to pay when they change their crews into TECH-TREE vehicles AND retain their previous skills. (It doesn't stop them into putting them into Premium vehicles and seal-clubing in lower tiers though...). You also now can't use crew members in different vehicles classes at all with paying to do so... so no training your arty crews in lower tier premiums anymore.... i.e Only the french and British have premium arty to train their crews in.... The great issue in this game is the way that the MM ignores the disparity of XP value of the crews used, and the value of GOLD/equipment carried by players. Even if both sides have the exactly the SAME vehicles, one side might have players that all have 5 skill crews and fully equipped, whilst the other all have 0 perk crews and no equipment, and the MM still considered that "Fair".... .
A lot of the playerbase is just in so deep and addicted WG doesn't even have to sugarcoat making p2w updates. The crew system doesn't encourage, it forces players to use gold. The loss in perk % is a kick in the nuts followed by water-boarding.
WG changed the crew system to close a free-to-play loophole. Under the old crew system, you could leave a crew member's last perk/skill unselected. Then, if you moved the crew member to a new tank and retrained with silver/credits, the XP from the unselected perk/skill would go toward retraining. In this way, you could get a fully trained crew on the new tank by only spending 20,000 credits per crew. With the new system this is not possible -- the only way to have a fully trained crew in the new tank is to pay the gold.
The rapidly changing system has driven many active WOT players out. Its cool to have a variety of ways to graduallyget a a minor change in your tank, but crazy crew training, pay-to-win modules and consumables, and a system where only the best can acquire the aformentioned, distort the game. Its more like EVE, where vets have mods, ships, and tactics that players with less than a few years in the game OR without the proper coaching cannot hope to win. However WOT forces the noobs into random matches with the baby seal clubbers -
Anyone noticed in the past you can look at the stats and decide if you want your new setup before committed to spending gold to change your equipment. Now you have to spend gold to know what the new stats are, i know there websites you can use for this but that's besides the point.
First game, that was a tier 4 panzer 3J. It probably has awful view range. The PZV/IV though, may have been far enough away or had just enough debris luckily scattered about as it sprinted across to just block being spotted in that crucial window.
Yes, moving crew was nerfed tremendously, as well as the ability to use a crew from a high-tier tank in a low tier tank. It was OK to lose 25% effectiveness across the board for being in the wrong tank, the perks made up for it, now those low tier tanks cannot be played as I don't have enough useful crews.
I helped some turtles to get into the sea in Tobago. The little guys had hatched and because there a lights from the village they get confused and cant find the sea (normally head for the moonlight or something). So spent ages collecting them into buckets and walking down the village away from the light to release them. I do the same thing whenever I see a Turtle in WOT...
i dont have any problems because WG gives out crew books like candy so its pretty easy to get a two or three skilled crew along with all the boosters they give out. grinding to at least 4 skills is pretty easy and fast.
Bushes still provide a small amount of camo even if you fire within them, though most of it is lost of course. The players being shot at didn't have enough view range to see him.
You are a good man Claus, maybe get one of those little wheeled dollies (?) to help with the turtles, and some reflective tape to stick on the side of the shell for when you are not around. Yes the new re-training system is a blatant cash grab. As a cheap-skate myself, having to husband every gold piece, keep an eye out for events and specials, and I don't need to tell you about waiting for training discounts. Have you claimed your free month of WoTPlus? You earn gold and can have a tank crew earn xp even when you are logged out.
The math on the new crew training for silver is not very intuitive. Values that depend on the perks (like camo) get nerfed a lot while values that depend on the main crew skill (like viewrange) are nerfed less than in the old system. Highly trained crews also get nerfed more than bad crews because there are more perks to nerf.
Hey Claus - Good for you. Stopping to help turtles cross the road improves your karma. I don't know how large those turtles are, but it's too bad the local authorities can't provide under-the-roadway channels or piping for a safe passageway. Maybe you could start a public service campaign in that area to push for that project; some of us Clausians might pitch in with some "Heart $$ Thanks".

i got to a tier 9 and moved the crew, payed 20k and went to reset the perks to get my crew back to 100%... didnt work but ive been playing this game for over 10years. so no gringing teir x are they tryin to kill my fun thanks for the video

I think you understand absolutely correctly how the new crew retraining system works, but you misunderstand / underestimate what effect it had before vs. now. The new system absolutely is A LOT better, with one exception: if you rely heavily on your camo, you will not like your camo skill rolled back to 60%. Maybe also the same for repairs skill on heavy tanks. Other than that, crew being at 80% was a huge penalty to all stats of the tank, and now that penalty is gone.
I just started playing back in December, so I don't really know if it's a good or bad "change", but in general I do not like the way crews are managed in this game. It's expensive AF for folks grinding the tech tree for sure. For some reason, my crew gets out of whack where one guy will be at 88% on a skill and another guy will be at 60% despite being in the same tank together. Total pain in the ass. I got spoiled to WoT Console, where we just had one crew member - the commander to deal with.
I've been playing a long time. "Once upon a time" when I started, if you didn't want to spend any money, you started at tier one, with crews who were only at 50%, taking probably 30-80 games to get the xp to get them to a point where they were at 100% and could only then learn any perks... AND you still had to work through the xp for the various modules and to et to the next tier... Now, starting players get 100% crews, can be gifted crew books etc. It's a lot easier, but WG need to try harder...
Unfortunately, you're not wrong about crew changing tank... Earlier if you had unassigned XP (+x%) you could train crew to 100% from that x%. Since it was 4th or more skill pushing crew to 100% wouldn't even be noticed. Now you have to pay gold, or play till they get to 100%...
there is a reason why i put a crew in all my 70 tanks,at first is painfull but now it's ok i have almost 4/5 crew skills in all tanks some have 6 ..i don't have enough gold to spend on wg total bull$hit..

It's all about money. The classic game was altered to bring in new, young, lazy FPS players who buy OP tanks and buy full-skill crews. I stopped paying years ago as WG continued to degrade the game to the detriment of players who worked hard to train crews and upgrade equipment.
Crew training has been screwed up from the beginning, it shouldn't take 5 years or longer to max out a crew's perks and every time Wargaming wants to change the crew perks just screw's it up more, been playing the game for 12 years and I hate the way it's going but nothing lasts forever - RNG is BS and the reason the game is dying or some will say it is already dead

I use the game modes like frontline and onslaught to train my 60% crews. I put them in premium tanks, it takes only a few games to get them to 100%.

They will not snap at you if it's a box turtle, but a snapping turtle will.

Retraining from 60% takes 40K XP to fully recover your perks. So more than 1% per game, and you can run crew XP boosters to make it quicker.

The crew rules are good. It should not be easy to transfer a crew. You should retrain on every tank.

he was playing against tier 4's. Tier 4's view range compared to tier 6 is night and day.
It only took me 4 to 5 games to get my crew back to 100% using silver just saying. I used 300x xp booster and 3x daily boosters for winning 5 games.
