Curtis phase one of the urban plot here in central Texas is formed and planted.
You inspired this reality first. I am extremely grateful.
1600 sqft
You are the greatest teacher in farming. You inspired me to start my own mini farm.
Hey Curtis thank you for all your hard work. great content!!
I will have that attachment before next season. Frickin love that thing.
A flail mower is like a flail...got it!
I'm wondering why you are mulching kales. Is that a crop grown here only for soil improvement ?
Dude, you are living MY dream. That’s OK, I’m not using it yet...
Keep it up.
After this series, I feel many viewers would appreciate a video on your input and thought about tilling in your operation. I feel many people have gotten very caught up in the permaculture idea of "no-till" and consider everything but no-till to be catastrophic to the soil even though you practice "low-till" in your operation. The past few videos in this BCS series seem to have comment sections embroiled with "no-till police" harassing aspiring and newcomer market gardeners. Perhaps you could make a new video and set them straight? Loving the new content by the way.
I did a few years ago. It’s called To Till or Not to Till.
Urban Farmer Curtis Stone Ok thank you
Great video and amazing tool. Does steadfast use the Berta flail mower or the BCS branded roller-ball model? I don't see the BCS red frame, but also don't see the removable baffle plate of the Berta.
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Curtis, thank you for the amazing work.
Some generic questions for you:
How old were you when first starting farming 8 years ago?
What age is too old for starting farming?
Cheers
Moss
I started Market gardening at 59.
curtis around 4:22, is that walkway on the right side just landscape fabric? is it a special kind of landscape fabric?
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks.
Is there a reason why you do the steering from the front or back? I could imagine it could be mulched ,with the steering handles on the back side of the machine?
I used it. Don't want my toes anywhere near that flail.
Thanks for the info stay. Irie. J ah bless all
Any reason you don’t amend the soil pre tarp?
Better to amend later when the soil has more tilth.
How about putting chickens on that for a week or two???
Whatever works.
Your killing a lot of life with a frail mower. I am considering to use a bar mower in the market garden
