That hits the spot right there! Some people seriously go into way too much bullshit on this website. If you don't appreciate this music then you're missing something that the rest of us gladly get. I don't mean that in a condescending manner but let's face facts.
Brilliant has anyone the names of these tunes. Such wonderful playing :) I love the foot tapping and the moving musician how do you keep rhythm? That's how I do it and it is better for the physical body so you don't get your neck paralyzed etc. Those complainers might really end up with injuries. They are not wind up dolls they are human beings.
@jim1205: no offense, but that's a loada crap. feet tapping helps us to keep the beat AND to show the others the speed we intend to keep it at. As for the movement, that's just natural reaction to the music.
Great tunes. Actually the second tune isn't an older setting of the Mossy Banks. It's a tune that Micho Russel called "Divide the Cally Fairly." It's an old Clare tune. FWIW I can't stand Maeve's show-off fiddling and that cheap ugly stuff she does with the bow. When she relaxes she's great but too often she's quite taken with herself.
Y O U F U C K I N G S N O B - it's ASSHOLES like you that ruin sessions with your purist, puerile prattle. A great set of tunes that I revisit often, but your shitholery resonates beyond Maeve's percussive doublestops, or whatever you call it. FUCK YOU.
Couldn't agree with you more, Davy Levine - the music was absolutely brilliant up until the point that Maeve started RUINING it with that nasty, aggressive "looka me!!!!" bow bouncing CRAP. Which is really sad: she used to be one of my FAVORITE fiddlers when she was younger, loose, swingy as hell, lift for DAYS. Now I can't even listen to her stupid "show business" shtick. The worst part is that she probably believes that the "bouncy bow" nonsense is IMPRESSIVE. Tell you what, dear- go learn some Paganini, because THAT'S where techniques like that belong, NOT in Irish Traditional Music. THEN I'll be impressed.
I agree, she should just be still and play the fiddle. And the feet tapping has got to stop. Sure they should be able tho keep the beat in their heads.
Absolutely fantastic ❤

Yeehaw :-)
As uplifting as could B imagined. The uninhibited style of the virtuoso on fiddle confirms exactly that. Virtuoso performance.
Brilliant music. What's the name of the 2nd and 3rd tune please.
2nd one is 'I Wish I Never Saw You', not sure about the 3rd one, but somebody below has it as 'The Shepherd's Daughter'.
Can anyone name the last tune?
Thank you 👍🏻
apart from that, great playing! :D
