Matt Sloan's show Welcome to the Basement is, for my money, the best, most well rounded movie review/criticism show on RUclips. It's a full movie recap mixed with spontaneous MST3K-ish riffing and thoughtful criticism. A blend of smart, silly and well edited that seems very rare nowadays.
These two gentlemen should be considered essential viewing. Love their films and unique view. My first introduction was their Halloween pumpkin. So hopeful, so dark, so comforting in the final moments in the life of a jack-o-lantern.
These guys are great. The Folks (Blame Society fans & Patreon patrons) are not just a community, we're family. Matt, Aaron, and the Folks have gotten a lot of us through hard times with incredible support and laughter. They're worth checking out. 👍❤️
Totally. I don't interact with the folks however I have been watching since 2012. I find myself rewatching past shows all of the time. Aaron and Mat and the other performers on Blame Society have helped me though some hard times as well. They are amazing.
Beer & Board Games and Welcome to the Basement has given me a lifetime of entertainment and laughs. Thank you Matt, Aaron, and the many many talented hysterical friends you have!
I hope the explicit language stuff doesn't hurt channels too much, I've heard mixed reports on that. But also, this is what Patreon aims to solve. If you love Beer & Board Games, you can support it without those pesky algorithms getting in the way!
Excellent interview. I watched 1 episode of beer and board games 5 years after they began and got hooked. I had to binge watch the whole series. That are a comfort, reminding me of friends and family that have long past gone. I did not know how busy they are/were with all of their projects. Thanks for making the lonely times entertaining and making me laugh.
I wish Aaron had mentioned his D&D podcast Rated RPG as one of his ongoing projects. That and Welcome To The Basement are among the best things these guys have done.
i feel like i'm the only person on earth that just didn't like Chad Vader. i remember when it was insanely popular when it was coming out, and i just didn't get it. i would be forced to watch it in school with everyone else, but i never found it funny. not hating on the people that made it though because obviously everyone else thought it was the funniest shit of all time lol
Bro honestly I'm a huge fan of them but Chad Vader was also not my vibe lol. I just never cared for sketch comedy. I like their off the cuff comedy style in beer and board games though and welcome to the basement is funny and interesting to me. But yeah you ain't alone.
I discovered these guys first through Welcome to the Basement, then Beer and Board Games, so Chad Vader was never high on my radar. They're great and hilarious guys, and the formats they're using now work for me much better than Chad Vader. Thumb kiss for Supershooter and Epic Tales of the Internet, though. (Cucumber Nutpunch)
The aesthetics of this show are terrible. The slanted square boxes are goofy. You don't need to dedicate half the screen to the show's title and your Patreon link throughout the entire interview.

We select few have stuck around; I never really liked movies myself until WTTB
Thanks for having us on Matt!
Thanks for being my guests! It was so much fun to hear the tales of Yore.
It's Matt Chat! Chat with Matt.
Been a fan since Chad Vader. Knew you guys were pioneers but wow.
The Chad Vader No still reverberates the internet.

Absolutely love this, thank you for sharing. It's exactly what this show hopes to cover, so I'm thrilled to have Aaron and Matt be a part of it!
To this day I still watch all Beer and Board Games episodes

Fun fact, Matt once used that LucasFilms Award to cave in Aaron's skull during the Cthulhu apocalypse. True story

These guys are awesome! I remember watching the first B&BG when it came out and I am still a weekly watcher. These guys deserve your support!
Couldn't agree more!

Chad Vader is epic, but this show is the most boring thing in the universe.
dad?
I love you son, please come home.
