    www.evertune.com/bass/index.php
    EverTune is thrilled to announce the completion of the EverTune Bass Bridge, which will deliver to bassists worldwide the unprecedented tuning stability and flawless intonation that made the original EverTune bridge famous. Trusted OEM partners will be releasing factory models with the bridge later in the year, answering longstanding demand from the bass community. Players looking to retrofit their existing instruments or purchase AfterMarket Upgrade basses will be able to do so even sooner. Those who do will find an elegant design - with a small footprint and minimal routing - that will transform their bass into a truly state-of-the-art machine.
    Polyphonic, chordal, and tapping passages in all registers will intonate like never before. And, as with every EverTune product, the pitch of the attack of the note will be the same as the pitch of the sustain of that note, eliminating the frustrating pitch jump that affects low-tuned strings and providing incredibly tight and stable recordings and performances. The bass of the future is a reality.

    The only missing things are:
    - Everstraight Neck
    - Neverbuzz Frets (maybe recline the frets above the pressed fret to lower them. or have always the same string to fretboard angle)

    • @EverTune8
      @EverTune8  Год назад +2

      Necks should be solid enough when graphite or carbon reinforcement rods are installed along the truss rod. There will always be some fret buzz with fretted instruments, it depends entirely on the player preference and their setup for string action and how much buzzing is acceptable.

      8 months after this announcement, it's not even for sale, it's only mentioned on their FAQ section. Clearly something is not running right a this company. Lots of empty promises and bold claims. Hopefully they stop monkeying around, get a manager that gets those project done and pump out a bass bridge, a fan fret bridge, a tremolo bridge fanned and regular, and an acoustic guitar bridge.

    • @EverTune8

      By itself, the EverTune will already improve intonation across the fretboard as it balances out finger pressure that would otherwise pull notes sharp. Having that said, we are big fans of True Temperament, and it would be very interesting to see and hear bass guitars using both EverTune and TT frets.

  • @jaya1305
    @jaya1305 Год назад +1

    That’s awesome news! You talk about helping tuning stability for down tuned basses, but I’m wondering how it will work with very light gauge bass strings. I use the Rotosound Funkmaster strings (30, 50, 70, 90) and love the sound and playability of these strings, but with the lighter tension required for them I do find they are a bit difficult to keep in tune (and dropping the E to D can be a nightmare with a 90). I would love to keep these strings, stay in tune and even do Drop D.

    • @Ppuffdiddleydangdoof
      @Ppuffdiddleydangdoof Год назад +2

      I use the Evertune bridge on all my guitars. I standardize on .008" strings which are really light and I play hard. There are no intonation or tuning issues at all. I also have THIS bass at my house right now, (Matt is my brother and is storing this bass at my house while at the NAMM Show). It's incredible. I can't make it play out of tune. But ultra-stable tuning is just one of the benefits. Evertune is revolutionary.

    Given this awesome new design for bass players, Evertune should consider making a top loader bridge for let's say guitars with tunomatic bridges and tail pieces. I just can't help but to think my SGs are being gutted with the traditional guitar design, and a top loader means still getting the benefits but not the sacrifice. It's just a no brainer 🤷‍♂️
    Please please Evertune, MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!

    Great. Now I need four new basses.

  • @funkingitup1805
    @funkingitup1805 Год назад +17

    Looks like a cool high mass bridge, but basses already hold tune very well. A bass with a cheap Wilkinson bridge and tuners will almost never change tune. Bass strings don't suffer much string stretch, and the super high relative string tension stabilizes tuning by simply having decent tuners to hold firm.

    • @EverTune8
      @EverTune8  Год назад +19

      Basses have to be retuned as well, meaning at some point they will go out of tune. The other benefits, which no other bridge can provide, is that EverTune balances out finger pressure which usually pulls notes sharp, leading to improved intonation across the entire fretboard, as well as being able to keep both the attack and sustain part of the note in perfect pitch without noticable pitch drift.

    Is the housing individual per string or is it a singular unit like the guitar bridge?

  • @gryzew
    @gryzew Год назад +4

    It could be cool to have this in a studio as an on-site recording bass (often there's some P-bass copy laying around). Even if a bass player has his intonation set, it's often all over the place how they tune the bass (ie. while plucking softly or hard, some tune to the harmonic some even to fretted note), how they play (hard or soft, careful or not with accidental string bending), old strings and pickup distance introduce their share of tuning issues too. I actually don't recommend training your ears to hear if bass is in tune properly, cause then you listen to some records you know and it's quite common that the bass can sound like 15 cents sharp. This bridge could be a partial problem solver if the bass player just whacks at it like a caveman.

    • @EverTune8
      @EverTune8  Год назад +4

      It's amazing exactly for this reason, as the bassist can just focus on playing their parts correctly and musically, without having to hold back on how hard or soft they want to play during their performance or recording. With any non-EverTune guitar or bass bridge, ideally you'd have to re-tune the instruments specifically to the picking strength of the specific parts of the song and record part by part to have these sound consistent and well tuned, which the EverTune negates entirely.

    i would try a ever tune on one of my guitars, if it look like the bass version. The guitar version is really an eye sore. This looks amazing on bass though.

      I disagree. I have three guitars with Evertune bridge and think it looks fine. I'm looking at them 10' away away in low light and you wouldn't be able to tell if the bridges are Evertune or Floyd Rose or whatever. And who cares with all the benefits Evertune brings. I'd STILL buy Evertune even if it had an LED scroll that said "Thug Life" everytime I played. Come to think of it, I'd probably pay more for that.
      Kidding. But once you play it, you're going to love this bridge and forget about any aesthetic preconceptions.

      It's actually perfect for demonstration purposes because the pitch drift when picking hard would usually even be greater and more noticeable, yet it stayed in tune perfectly even when Matt really hit the lowest string hard.

    You talk about keeping attack part of the note in tune and you show 4 string bass ....
    And barely any aggressive playing no 5 stringer no slap.
    I am glad you finally venture in to the bass world but why not the areas where it woukd matter the most like the low B string and lower.

      I never experienced much struggle on basses either, at least as I occasionally use them. I do have a couple of guitars with the system and works great. I wouldn't want one on all my guitars for a couple reasons...yes you can set to bend, but it's not quite the same thing even if you've just dailed in the right zone. But on the other hand you can hit it and ham-hand any chord you want and it will intonate. And I mean you can death-grip that Am and it's right on. Some bassists will appreciate this, and honestly some don't have the great intonation that they think they do

    • @7stringbassist
      @7stringbassist Год назад

      @@ass_jay IMHO, the key is to setup the bass to the way you play. If you're heavy handed, set the intonation to a heavy handed pluck, not just a tickle. Same with action.
