I think most of us thought the same thing upon being here at first. Why does he have the wrong appearance/model? Were they trying to say that all this time, Shin was Jo? I highly doubt it, because there wasn't even a hint of acknowledgement towards that, just nothing at all. I'd think they'd at least try if that was the case. So then did they really just goof and forget how Jo is supposed to look? I don't know. This fight is meant to be unwinnable when you play on your first playthrough, but with NG+ allowing you to carry over your abilities, it's pretty easy winning it. But here's the disappointing part, I can get past that the outcome after the fight doesn't change even slightly, but there should've been a unique reward to beating this fight. I think something that would've been perfect is Amon's Glasses and they'd have huge overall stat buffs, so a direct upgrade over Eye of the Dragon. I think there should've also been an extra gimmick or two particularly when you fight him on NG+. It's really a shame because NG+ is something you have to pay for this time, and they couldn't do even that.

Seeing Amon show up in the main story has to be the most surreal thing ever
I seriously had no idea this was supposed to be “Jo” Amon, I thought it was just Shin being out of character.
His name is actually JOshin amon but the name got cut a little bit......
Shin roleplaying as Jo would be not too much out of order as a thing

Good possibility that the model they scanned that face? The rights for that expired. You'll notice Jo's brothers also use the Shin face but with their own hairstyles. Just wish they'd also given Jo a different hairstyle even though his face is the same as Shin's.
@@MugdhaMahdiShamsAll Amons are original characters, Jo kept the same design since 1 and Kazyua, Jiro and Saigo since 4, which they also made them look younger in IW to match Shin reuse for Jo. Really weird shit

What I think is mindblowing here isn't the fact that Jo Amon shows up in the main story, nor the fact that he uses Shin's model (for no reason too), or neither the fact that he's the one to "give" Kiryu the Dragon's Resurgence...
no, the thing I think is totally mindblowing is that this particularly fight is AFTER Date tells Kiryu that he called some people to discuss about or meet Kiryu (under a fake identity of course)... so this means that, at some point, Date knew about the Amon clan's affairs with Kiryu and CALLED Jo to tell him that Kiryu is not actually dead. Date isn't just one of the men, he's The Man

He’s always been treated as the secret boss fight in the previous games, but now he ain’t so secret anymore…
Yeah I can understand why someone might not like that he's basically part of the story progression this time, but there is something about them acknowledging him as an important part of Kiryu's life that I really adore with this game. 7+ games later, almost 20 years later, he comes back to pick Kiryu up when he's at one of the lowest points in his life. Maybe if he was a non-mandatory bucket list mission, that would've been a good middle ground. Or maybe the final bucket list after you finish every other one.
Okay so if reaching amon is caused by doing all substories does that mean all substories are cannon 100%

Well it's understandable because Jo Amon are quite important Person for Kiryu. He face Amon multiple time and Amon always coming back for more. they slowly developed Love/Hate relationship to each others. And at the end you could tell Amon somewhat care about Kiryu's current condition and give him a neccesary push to be stronger.
Not only did they use the wrong model but also didn't make anything special if you won against him just "nope, you lost". Not to mention his dungeon fight lacks the music and it's replaced with generic dungeon boss theme.
They made Amon dirty in this game. I hope they compensate with some Amon gauntlet DLC maybe.

But why they reuse shin design for Jo and expect us to not ask questions?

Like, it kind of drags down this interaction a bit because you keep these questions in your mind. Idk, i just think they kinda forgot to polish Amon in this game.

So funny thing, I was over leveling, having fun with fights, so when I fought him on the default difficulty, I actually beat him before resurgance unlocked, and man, that was the one fight that taught me how good buff items and the war god talismans were
Friend of mine also attempted to beat him on the first playthrough and managed to do it after suffering through it!
@@devilleon7 hell yeah, nice. I do wish there was a better reward than just a cough tin and a bit of exp/money for the effort, like maybe an extra dialogue box or something, but hey, bragging rights are the next best thing, lol
I think of this as the true amon of the game, as the other fight doesnt even have a unique theme. So that basically means amon is ng+ unless you grind A LOT

This scene feels like a "Take That!" by the devs towards players who dislike the change into turn-based with party members if you look at Amon as a "purist" fan in this situation
It actually bothered me.they didnt use this theme in dungeon the proper encounter is in. Lot of lazy scuffs with amons in this game. I was hoping too much to think there would be a rrally tough amon fight in big swell. Kind of like in one of the judgement dlc being a super amon was hoping for something like that at least.

As the name above the HP bar indicates, it's supposed to be Jo. Everyone is just as confused as to why they reused Shin's model for Jo when they've had a perfectly reusable one back from 6 or Kiwami 2.

Sometimes rgg reusing stuffs ended up being good but this time it isn't i wish they let you know why he looks like this, or atleast re use this theme with the other amon battle since they use a generi theme there
Split between not wanting to get the fight and the theme spoiled and having an unscratched amon itche
A lot of kiryu’s final stuff was handled well but man I wish they had Kiryu and Amon’s final battle be cooler (or at least gave Amon a final model)

Honestly amons always reused their faces so what i find weird is the hair more than anything tho this isn't the first time original kazuya amon from ps2 wasn't blond and had a beard

No tiger drop. I understand Kiryu is alot weaker at this point of his life. The only resemblance I see of tiger drop is in Essence of Komaki. Kinda sad this the last game without his most notorious move.

No, he loses to Majima after getting out of jail in Kiwami.

Stupid question but, is there a reason your characters are lvl 96 and not lvl 99?
Probably because it takes a long time to get to 99 without the legend mode dungeons, and it's not really needed. You only really need to be around level 95 for the story unless you are going for the big swell in premium since enemies can be as high as 99 in the last sector
even we defeated him early game, this side quest still scripted

For whatever reason, they reused Shin's model for Jo instead of his own from 6/K2. And people have just thrown out the outlandish (but honestly it could be believable) theory that Jo did actually die during Lost Paradise and his soul somehow came back to Kamurocho and just possessed Shin lol
