Thank you so much for showing how to fix this midrange. I live in Denmark and my S80 now sound like new again👍

I just replaced the foam surrounds on my pair of S80's I found at thrift store for $30. The cabinets and finish are in excellent shape. I decided to try my first re-foam after watching your video, Thanks. They sound Great!!

Very very good job on the midrange! I'm a dane, and in Denmark no one really seems to care for these speakers, so you can get them dead cheap. But the midrange coil problem is often a job you have to take into account, and this video is just so instructive, thanks man! :-)

The failure on the mid was the first time I have seen that with SEAS. Old Ferro fluid in a lot of "Euro" tweeters is now something to deal with!

@@texasound1 Ok, great if it's the first time you see that, cause when we get to payday I'm buying a set of S80'es. The coil breaking loose is a well described issue over here, but then again, people like to talk...

Damn your good! That whole operation looked hairy as hell! Does it make sense to add ferrofluid when restoring a dome squaker? Would it make the driver more durable or would it be a huge mistake?

    Two questions?
    1) What is the best glue to glue the dome to the metal ring? Originally B&O glued the dome just on one point to the metal ring of the driver. This is on the side where the leads come out and where B&O attached a small strip of tape to the metal ring of the driver. So in fact, the dome glues to this piece of tape.
I also noticed that B&O's original glue is still sticky, so it probably doesn't completely dry up.
Any one who knows what kind of glue this is?

Great video with good information and explanation.
I just got myself a pair of S80's. I suspect they have the same issue with te coil not being attached to the diaphragm.
Do you think that super glue gel would also work for this?

I decided not to use super glue. It is better to have a glue more fit to glue the stiff ring to the dome. I chose for Pattex Epoxy glue, and it worked perfect!
