Comparative Fire Tests on Cold Store Insulated Panel Cores

We tested the reaction to fire performance of various insulation cores against Kingspan's IPN (PIR) and Quadcore technology.
All panels have metal facing on the non-fire exposed side.
All panels have been exposed to blowtorch flame simulatiıng the ISO 11925 Part 3 Test.
EPS is observed to melt and lose integrity and insulation performance in the first 5 - 10 seconds.
PUR is observed to catch and spread flame and release large amounts of smoke.
Both Kingspan' IPN (PIR) and Quadcore's surface forms chars which eliminates the spread of flame.
Quadcore releases the least amount of smoke followed by Kingspan IPN.
Both Kingspan Panels stopped releasing smoke after only 13. seconds.
Not all insulation is the same.
