This song is pure magic. I´m from Juarez Mexico but I have a strong love for America and its people and of course, for country music, 5 years ago I drove from El Paso TX to Phoenix AZ, listening the Eagles and Steely Dan all the way, I met really nice people and watched dozens of red mountains, it was definitely the most spiritual experience of my life. I think Billy Strings is doing an outstanding job for America and the world of music, Grammy dont lie!
I'm glad you could come to America and experience those feelings, the people, and the natural beauty. For all the craziness in the US now, it still has that something that is spiritual for some of us. So happy you got to connect.
Written by one of the most incredible American Songwriters 'Steve Young'. A good performance. I'm sure Steve would be happy his songs continue to live on. He was a wonderful guitarist and singer.
My mother used to sing this to me, when i was just a baby. Back before we lost all we held dear, and back before i had learned the struggles of life, before i lost innocense and joy. This song will always be close to me.
I know the feeling, but music, especially folk music can do miracles to the soul. All hardships eventually end. It's called becoming refined as when the iron is being forged in the fire. Fire removes impurities and if the crude is good it will not break.
I like Billy and his great talents for music. My grandpa was a musician. He had 8 children all musically gifted. It was heaven to grow in this family. Poor but always happy. The communists made them poor and there were times when there was nothing to eat for days. Fight communism with all of your might. Don't vote for the democrats. It will bring great suffering to you.
I mean no disrespect to the Eagles God knows I love their work but damnit Billy you and the boys are just frickin AMAZING at whatever ya'll do I hope and pray egos and big heads don't ever cause friction between you boys because that would definitely be the work of the devil himself Keep doing what you do and there will be hope for the world.
Honestly, had I been there, I'd have been singing with them, so I get it. Nothing can dim one of the most beautiful songs ever penned, played or sung. Thank you, Steve Young.
Dixie sky still the truth, even in 2023 , 1984 whatever it is in Fed land my Alabama happy places still look the same. They are coming though. Sad time. Southern men aren't what they used to be. God forgive us, and give us a hand up.This music is timeless.
Didn't mean these guys aren't the same as bad ass Southerners. They are the hope. God bless them, and guide them....music is powerful. Can take souls if not careful.
I first knew this song in the 70s, when Crosby stills nash did it, have since learned that the Carter sisters did it (as in June Carter cash).....and am now hearing bill monroe also did it.....such a wonderful beautiful song!!!!!!! From sooooo long ago!!!!
I don't think I have heard anything he and his band have done i didn't like. Basically they are all amazing musician. Great job on the harmony. You guys get a 10+
really wish people would keep their yapping and their yelping to themselves on songs like this or freedom (spoken as a concert yelper). There is a time and a place people.
I was at this concert and at the beginning of a song I would yap and holler but after that I wouldn’t. I agree people that do it for the whole song just need to shut up.
Love some Billy Strings!! Dust in the Baggie and Cocaine Blues are great by him as well! He can saw the neck off a guitar! Pure freaking talent with a country twang! OMG...
@@ioanniskostoulas3843 Thanks for the info. I have been meaning to listen to some Steve Young after learning he was responsible for Rock Salt and Nails. One more reason to go down that road. Cheers!

And rock salt and nails was actually written by Utah Phillips. When Steve Young recorded it, he took a little heat for some of the lyrics … Even though it wasn’t his song. All he was doing was doing was giving attention to a really well written song. One of the reasons I’m happy to hear these younger guys keep 7 Bridges Rd. alive.
Love Billy Strings and his band. Unfortunately the only time I went to see them in Knoxville recently, people like those shouting and hooting on this video caused me and my wife to walk out. Such a shame, I will never see them live again, the RUclips vids are all I will see.
I've seen Billy twice (Ohanafest and Las Vegas) and his sets are magical. I do keep waiting for this one, though. The Steve Young original is amazing, but I do like how they channel the Eagles here.
Lovely rendition, obviously based on Eagles’ take, which was (probably) based on Ian Matthews’ cover, all versions, of course, composed by the late great Steve Young!
I did not hear much from all the yahooing ..it's an old song? anyway the reason this title caught my eye is because i know a real place deep in the country, a road of the main road, which goes on forever. It has 7 small bridges but if you continue you end up in an old gold mining town. Yes, we find gold to this day in chunks just waiting to be dug up.
GOD BLESS AMERICA AND HUMBOLDT COUNTY IN JESUS MIKGHTY NAME !!! DEAR LORD PLEASE WATCH OVERT AND PROTECT MY WIFE CHRISTINA MAE BUSH AND OUR CHILDREN AND GRANNDCHILDEREN!!

I wish you well my brother. I’m glad you were met with kindness and respect in Arizona. I hope is a well.
We love you as well sir!

I think you just wrote a new verse to this song.
1 yr later, I hope joy has returned.
What a beautiful comment

Billy Strings and lucky me, walking the earth at the same.

As someone who agrees with The Dude when it comes to the Eagles, this song is magic.
I've had a long night... but don't worry this is actually a Steve Young original, the fuckin eagles covered
@@MTNJOHNAnd covered perfectly.
Don’t sleep on the eagles
One of the most harmonically sang songs...EVER!
I first knew this song in the 70s, when Crosby stills nash did it, have since learned that the Carter sisters did it (as in June Carter cash).....and am now hearing bill monroe also did it.....such a wonderful beautiful song!!!!!!! From sooooo long ago!!!!
That was some mighty fine a pickin and a sangin...
I don't think I have heard anything he and his band have done i didn't like.
Basically they are all amazing musician. Great job on the harmony.

Oh hell yeah🙌🙌🙌🙌

Tim Riley same here, save the hootin and hollering for the end.
Agreed. As a musician myself that gets on the nerves. I know they mean good but it can be distracting. These guys have good tune out skills.
Agreed. Knoxville is really bad for that....
I was at this concert and at the beginning of a song I would yap and holler but after that I wouldn’t. I agree people that do it for the whole song just need to shut up.
Needs to be a 'shit-kickin, inbred dick' exclusion rule at the gate, keepin' out the yelpers
Love some Billy Strings!! Dust in the Baggie and Cocaine Blues are great by him as well! He can saw the neck off a guitar! Pure freaking talent with a country twang! OMG...
Glenn Frey is proud🎸🎵❤️

Two words...... Holy....Shit.
What a great job. Could have done without the audience members screaming out. Don’t really want to hear them.
thems my buddies
Listen to the "Carter sisters" version...as in June Carter Cash.....with her sisters, before she met Johnny Cash.....
Are you making stuff up? Song was written by Steve Young in 1969. She met Cash in 1968. The Carter family recorded it in the early 70's.
Billy has great vocal strength and power to match his guitar quality
❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
Better than the original imo.
Your opinion is wrong
How awesome could this be…if the clowns in the crowd would shut up? It’s not about you.
Oh shit
If everyone could sing just a little higher! Bluegrass version of The eagles... Hmmmmm
Can’t beat the original eagles, not even close
have to agree
They didn't write it
a half decent cover
Stick to kackalacly not cali wanna be
Daniel Radcliffe this desperate for a job?
