01 Cadillac DeVille No Crank No Start - Grounding issue

No Crank No start, gauges were acting weird and while trying to start the fuel pump would stay running. Noticed that ground wire came disconnected from the alternator. Ran a new ground from frame to the engine block. #cadillac #grounding #deville #nocranknostart

Did u just snip the end that goes to the block

Yes cause that’s hard to get to, mine disconnected from that end in the first place

I have a question I think I’m having the same problem but my connection to the alternator looks loose. Is it just a bolt that hold it on that end ? Just cause I see yours cut

Or is it even connected to the alternator?

I think it is but it’s hard to get to, as long as you get a connection from the engine block to the body you should be good

Mine starts but turns sígnals won’t work flashers do ! reverse parking sensors won’t work brake won’t release by itself speed gauges won’t work fuel and temp gauge do work what could this be ?

Check your fuse box that’s under the hood, make sure it’s not loose there are three 8mm bolts on there make sure that’s tight, I had something similar where the right signal was not working, no wipers and no high beams. But I would also check that ground and make sure it’s in tact

Also it can be that you need extra ground
