Imam Shafi’i who was like a memorisation machine, to the extent that if he read a certain page, he had to cover the page beside it out of fear that it mixed with what he was reading, that’s how fast ‘ilm was soaked to Imam Shafi’i that a glance can make it stick. One day, he complained to his teacher about his bad memory in a very popular poem, ““I complained to Imam Waki’ of my weak memory; he advised me to abstain from sins. For verily, knowledge is a light from Allah; and this light of Allah is not awarded to sinners.” So who is Imam Waki’ that Imam Shafi’i sought advice to? When Qatadah taught Shu’bah (early scholar from the tabi’ut tabi’in) and said, “Shall I give you more?”, Shu’bah would say, “No, until I memorise it and solidify it.” This is the way of the scholars, even if it becomes a little rusty later on, you just have to come back and give a little touch because it has been solid from the first time. Whatever is strong from the foundation, even if you leave it, you can get it easily when you come back to it. Repeat it as much as possible to the extent that it becomes like al Fatihah to you. Revising with a classmate or teaching your family/students is also one of the things that can solidify your memorisation. The more you keep teaching it, the more it becomes second nature. Do not move on to the next thing until you solidify what you memorise before. If you just memorise a little bit then move on to the next step and you don’t have a very strong revision plan, the thing you memorised before will slip away.
For me, its easier when i know what the meaning of the ayah. If i just memorising it without knowing the meaning, it can become really difficult even for a single verse of the Qur'an.... and the most important thing is how we really implement what we already memorize, because Allah will ask our responsibillity in yaumul akhirah, laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah

One verse takes up an entire page in Surah Al-Baqara while around 30 verses take up a page in Surah Al-Shuara. Don’t use number of verses to determine how long it will take you. Instead, you should use page numbers.
Really beneficial reminder and this is something I have tried to aim for in sha allaah. Once I heard the hadith, I wanted to achieve this for myself. My Allaah accept it from us all and grant us the highest place in Jannah.
I think amount of lines is a better aim than verses because it is more evened out. One verse could range anywhere from 3 words to entire pages. If you set your goals based on lines or pages, including fractions of a page, I believe you could stay more consistent and it would also give you a better indication of a time frame.
May Allah, The All-Knowing, reward you for your advice with the best of life and the next and may He grant the messenger SAWS the highest place in jannah, Ameen. Try no internet and no smartphone for just 3 days, and memorize a Surah.

And time went slow until I understood why the early people had so much time writing volumes of books. 1 hour felt very slow. But when I'm on the internet time flies. A good mp3 a-b repeater, your favorite reciter, and then writing it down, and then memorizing 1-5 Ayat, reading its meaning and Tafsir in accordance with your ability, and then pray your Sunnah prayers with what you've memorized. Ibn Abdil Barr mentioned that even though Allah has made the Qur’an easy, Rasululah still said, “Keep on reciting the Qur'an, for, by Him in Whose Hand my life is, Qur'an runs away (is forgotten) faster than camels that are released from their tying ropes.”
The more you repeat it, the more it’s going to stick.
My bucket list is to learn Arabic and read Quran with proper tajwid and memorise more chapters insyaAllah.. Aameen.
Barakallahu fikum
May Allah allow us to memorise His book aameen
make more of these kind of contents
Thank you for showing us the path..........may Allah give you reward for this in this life and hereafter
MAY ALLAH GRANT YOU HIGHEST REWARD BROTHER!!!!!!
Jazakallahu khairan! May allah grant you ease and forgiveness 🤲🏻
JazaAllahkhair and thank you Shiekh. This is a spectacular supplement to use while studying with a teacher(s). I ask Allah for us not only to memorize, but to understand, implement, and teach the Quran. Ameen
I love how you chose Shaykh Hudhaifi, he is my favorite Qari and I have learned a lot simply by listening to him.
I'm memorizing amma, al-kahf, al-mulk, ar-rahman, baqara and yaseen. This will be handy
In addition to the app. A great book which will help you www.amazon.co.uk/Memorising-Quran-Muhammad-ebook/dp/B089NL13C8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&qid=1591477053&refinements=p_27%3AMuhammad+Muhammad&s=digital-text&sr=1-3&text=Muhammad+Muhammad

for us in rewards ,simple formula...
Saajid. May Allah bless you. You're a legend. Needed this big time.
One verse takes up an entire page in Surah Al-Baqara while around 30 verses take up a page in Surah Al-Shuara. Don’t use number of verses to determine how long it will take you. Instead, you should use page numbers.

Salam from Mauritania
May Allah reward you abundantly shaykh
Really beneficial reminder and this is something I have tried to aim for in sha allaah. Once I heard the hadith, I wanted to achieve this for myself. My Allaah accept it from us all and grant us the highest place in Jannah.
What a beautiful way to use your platform 💓 May Allah bless Brother Saajid
I think amount of lines is a better aim than verses because it is more evened out. One verse could range anywhere from 3 words to entire pages. If you set your goals based on lines or pages, including fractions of a page, I believe you could stay more consistent and it would also give you a better indication of a time frame.
I think it's cuz 3 verses eventually get longer closer towards the end
Jazak Allah Khair thank you brother immediately i downloaded and will set the intention to memorize daily Insha Allah
Mashallah brother Saajid Allah yahfazak
You are an inspiration brother! I read the Quran in a few months thanks to Allah my teacher
May Allah SWT reward you immensely
May Allah, The All-Knowing, reward you for your advice with the best of life and the next and may He grant the messenger SAWS the highest place in jannah, Ameen. Your advice definitely makes me wanna get back to memorization. 3 verses a day is possible and better than no verses a day. Every day we can be better than the day before, in terms of our place in jannah. 💯
May Allaah help us all in memorising the Qur'aan and in acting upon it
May Allaah make us truly love the Qur'aan and make it a proof for us on yawm al qiyamah

The best way to memorize Quran is by using "lawha". And make sure to repeat the verses so many times. This has been proven to be the most effective way for both Arab and non-arab people.
JazakAllahu khair brother, may I know what is "lowha"?
This is the best video I have seen practically helps in memorizing
Subhanallah ❤

There are many ways to memorize the quran that can be applied by everyone. One of them is described in the video, it's very good. Hopefully the audience will be more enthusiastic in learning the Quran to get happiness in this world and in the hereafter. may Allah bless us all

The only Qaari (reciter) Ive come across who memorized all the Qira'aat, 'Abdurashid 'Ali Sufi, adviced a man to leave his smartphone. The man couldn't leave it. And he never managed to memorize. You can't be on youtube, facebook or twitter or even the internet if you truly want to memorize. Discipline and no internet except for maybe paying bills. And Allah knows best. Try no internet and no smartphone for just 3 days, and memorize a Surah.
There are a few reciters that have learned all of the Qira'aat. That is good advice and jazakallahukhair for sharing.
@@mohamedafridi8231 No. Sufi is a part of his name. Not referring to the sect.s
@@ahmadtahmass8941 Wa Iyyak, hopefully I get part of the reward for whoever tries it.
I didn't recite Surah At-Taghabun for few months due to work and busy. Then I stayed away from my phone and internet for three days, and managed to recapture it and also Al-Mumtahinah. The visions you get while reciting also increase as the heart is not occupied.
And also a good intention wanting to meet Allah with having memorized His Words.
@@Ibn_Abdulaziz Excellent advice alhamdulilah. One underrated one that many people tend to forget is reading to a teacher. Hopefully he/she is qualified but nonetheless, that is a must.
@@ahmadtahmass8941 Hopefully smart Muslims will create apps for qualified Muslim teachers on all subjects, and then getting paid for their teaching similar to uber app. That way those who studied abroad can also make a living from what they learned instead of seeking livelihood from worldly things while their knowledge is not being used by the community.
50$ an hour for teaching your kids to memorize Qur'an, 'Aqidah, Usul Al-Fiqh, Mustalahal Hadith or even doing Ruqya on patients until the best rated gets most jobs. And then the teachers would compete with the best teaching method, schedules and proof of portfolios (previous jobs) etc until the way of teaching improves. But in 'Aqidah the app has to be restricted to Salafis. As for memorizing Qur'an, Egyptians are masters at it.
