I went asked them about it. It was my fault. I used the diving plug in the box that’s meant for deep dives and not meant to be used with the speaker on. There’s nowhere for the pressure to escape so it turns the speaker inside out

I haven’t used a Manticore yet so I’m not really sure. But compared to the Equinox 900 it’s a lot more intricate as far as the settings go. And VDI numbers are different than anything else I’ve used. Once you get used to the layout of the menu you start to figure it out pretty quick.
I have watched several detectorist's who use the Deus 2, and there is no doubt that it is a very good machine, but do you think the Deus 2 is 3-times (price & performance) better than the Legend?
The speaker sound changed because I had it set up for diving, which apparently causes pressure in the box and pops the speaker inside out. You have to remove the waterproof seal and blow into the speaker to fix it.
Don’t put the red plug in it unless you are diving. You can mess the unit up because there is nowhere for the trapped gas to go. The standard plug is good to over 3’ ! As far as the cable the machine will pick up the signal from the coil up to at least 1’ so you don’t need it for what you are doing.

Yo MM, do you prefer the deus over the 900 ? I’m Not sure I’m liking my 900. The deus sounds clean , no chatter like the 900. I’m kinda bummed i chose the 900 over even the 800. May have to pull the trigger and get the deus 2 now that I’ve seen you and moe use them with success.
I’ve only hunted with the Deus 2 twice so it’s still way too early to tell. But I remember about a month or so into owning the Nox 900 I was regretting my purchase. But after getting used to it more, I love it. Also after swinging the Legend and even The Deus2, the 900 is still at the top of my list currently. Try resetting it to factory settings, and lower the sensitivity when needed. I run mine on 21 mostly, and Beach 2 in the wet sand. Also make sure your coil cable isn’t too loose near the coil because that could cause some falsing too

Yea the Nox 900 is still at the top of my list. You just cant beat those Minelab tones. Also I’m a grab-n-go / less is more type of person and the Deus 2 has quite a few moving parts. I’ll try it with on a different audio setting next time and see if it’s less squeaky

Why do they give you so much wire or cable with it for the water? Seems like too much.
They give you a long one and a short one, but I use the longer one because my machine is fully extended and I want to have some slack.
