"It was approaching midnight and Tom really wanted to go home."
Where are you keeping Tom? Your basement?
Crusader of the Low Lands the “forge” is lindy’s basement
What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad...
And then Lindy drops part V and the world is whole once more.
Some day that armourer will finish killing Goblins or whatever he's been doing and send him the last small parts of his armour.
that comment didn't age well
Lloyd's grin as he wields the sword and thinks about Frenchmen is a thing of beauty.
"Watch out France" - so epic.
"There's a beast in every man and it stirs when you put a sword in his hand", Ser Jorah Mormont
Lloyd brandishing sword: "You feel like you want to hit something" "Look out, France!"
Why is my mind filled with images of Sir Lancelot's wedding massacre from Monty Python?
May I use this comment that mentions jorah mormont to ask something that has been bothering me since I started watching this channel (not so long ago). Why is there a picture of lord commander mormont on the wall that's behind Lloyd in most of his videos ? You know, in the corner besides all the colorful nature pictures
.... what's up with that ? Can someone please explain 😕
@@bel8122 He mentioned it once, though no idea which video, Lloyd met the actor once criticising studded leather, or something similar.
@@scipioafricanus6417 oh that's lovely! Thank you so much, it had always bothered me that I couldn't understand why that picture was there ...
I can't speak for swords but I have shot guns and I can confirm. When you're holding a gun, you feel some serious power in your hands.
@@Killzoneguy117 I've toyed with replica swords, and even then, yeah... You can feel that you're holding a thing that was meant to be swung at someone. It's a sensation like the blade and your body are in perfect harmony; "Do it. Damage something!"
Can’t wait for the armour to go with it
See you in about 4 years for that finish 😋
Lindycan plating! . . . this is going to make Ned Kelly look like the Waltons . . .
I hope he has a good payment plan.

You can’t call it a sword until you’ve “adjusted the attitude” of a Frenchmen.
Q: What do you put bayonets in. A: Frogs. idk

Lindy comes back like we haven't been waiting for a whole year
Lindybeige, i proposed your "the white headhunter" video to my teacher in my last lesson of english and everybody loved that video, greetings by italy.
I Just saw all 5 parts in a row. Its quite heartwarming to see lindys smile goes wider every part until you see him truly happy holding his sword here.
I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed watching your sword and armor fabrication series!! Actually, your whole approach to authentic archeology and your wonderful British patriotism are excellent in my opinion. I can hardly wait for what's next?!? More! More!
As someone that has been interested in smithing since I was a teen, I have to say your first foray into swordsmithing is much, much better than anything I've been able to produce. It really is just that difficult. Quite lovely, I would be proud to have crafted something that nice.
What
You can't just ignore your sword build for like a year then suddenly act like the previous instalment was last week or so. How's the suit of armour going?
Im pretty sure Lloyd has about a decade worth of footage that he hasn't gotten around to editing yet, he could probably stop recording new things today and still have material till the end of time

I love the little big planet whistling.😃
Now for part six: The Hundred Years War: Beige Edition.
Absolute beauty of a sword, perfect proportions. Well done. The blade itself is such a nice shape and pattern it's so good looking from every angle like a ferrari
I don't know what I've waited for longer. Lindy to finish his sword, or my dad to come back from the store.
Is your dad Lindybeige? Maybe that's why he's taken so long, he's been at the sword store
Interesting. I am a recent subscriber to your channel. And when I saw this post. I looked for episode 1-4 ... and saw them all 1-5 in a row ... Letting my family wait In vain for a family evening this Saturday night. :) I cannot imagine the patience the audience of this channel must have had to keep hope upon for this last episode.

Thank you.
I love the look of pride and joy in your eyes when you hold your blade. Well done, Lloyd! You've done a beautiful job and I'm so happy I got to go on this journey with you!
Ask Todd Cutler... There are always imperfections in authentic medieval weapons... all of them! This is a really nice job. If you decide to make another 6 or 7 of them, the last on will be just what you want.
So, now for the most important question:
Is a sword made from Spandau barrels superior to one made from Bren barrels?
Well of course german quality is superior to litteraly everything
Hahaha nice one
I'm a big fan Lindy! It gives me a huge Excalibur feeling. I can imagine some strange women throwing it to a king out of a lake.
17:33 the frechies better send some tatami mats to lindybeige 😂😂
Nice job freehand grinding that grip, Lloyd. And I'm a bladesmith so by golly my praise MEANS SOMETHING.
Remember: authentic swords were NEVER perfect. They did not have the precision tools and power tools we have. It is the small cosmetic flaws that lend to its authenticity.
I got a lindybeige advert at the beginning of the lindybeigr video. Fantastic.
Sadly i think im going to be working during your quiz, Lloyd. Good luck to all!
Gona have to get one of these. narwhal tusks arnt exactly on every street corner
the black "sooth" is called "forge scale" and a lot of smiths like to leave it on because its actually harder than the steel and also protects the steel from rust.
smooth all the parts out and finish shaping with paper or files, then throw the pieces back into the forge until they're at least cherry red, take em out and wait till the color fades, test with water drops, once the water no longer immediately turns into steam, rub it down with a rag coated in lind seed oil.
makes for a beautiful black finish
.
It looks perfect. You'll just have to practice day after day until your muscles bulk up to match the sword.
Or he can start doing steroids and get..... BEIGERAGE!
1. Using a sword doesn't require tremendous amounts of strength.
2. His armor is fitted for his current body shape. If he "bulks up" it wont fit.
its not hard to swing it real fast, the problem is to stop it fast, requires a lot of "wrist up" strenght ;)
" stop it fast " that's what a Frenchman is for!
im not sure if that potato at the end was french or not, but without a little practice and strenght.... well lets say a noob would probably hit the floor, cause he would underestimate how much energy it needs to stop a blade in time ;)
Good work lindy. When it comes to sanding remember you are" putting scratches in to take scratches out"!!!
Dual katanas forged out of Spendaus, the most overpowered weapon.
Dual FIRE katanas!
Haven't finished the video but as to how they put holes in pommels: they'd use the forge to punch a hole and then drift it. Sometimes you'd even put the drift in and forge the piece around it to get a long narrow hole! Thank god for drills!!
For anyone curious, the song he was whistling at 11:26 is "The Noveltones - Left Bank Two" ... I'd rather post it now because when I tried finding this song last year it took me hours.
You are a saint!
Blimey, you're amazing. I've always wanted to know what that song was called. My whole life, 32 years, and you managed to find it. Well done mate
Nice looking sword Lloyd, it must be so satisfying using something that you made yourself from scratch !
I’m very envious of you. I’d love to try this and have had a similar sword made for me by Rob Miller at Castle Forge on Skye. He made that whilst I was in spinal rehab 15 years ago. Unfortunately, though I’m capable of a lot, I’ll never swing a sword, let alone a hammer, again. Still great to watch.
I don't care much for swords (I'm just here because I like the channel and will watch this madman talking about anything) but this comment is sad and wholesome at the same time and I just wanted to say I appreciated it. It's cool you can be happy for someone else's experience, even if it's something you want and can't have

Holy shit Lloyd thought u gave up on this sword build it’s been so long..
I'm waiting for the suit of armor to be finished so we can all watch him lindyhop in it
@@nathanaelsmith3553 And conquer France.
10:02 I want to emphasize how much of a good thing this is. This isn't just a cop out either, medieval craftsmen were really not all that concerned with symmetry as we are now. I'm not much of a sword guy, but definitely an armor guy, and in armor we constantly see asymmetrical pieces of armor and pieces of the metal with quite a rough finish due to the construction, and these are seen even on the highest of end pieces out there made for kings and the nobility. Modern craftsmen strive to accomplish the elegant level of imperfection.
Though I must say, that crossguard may be a bit too much on the odd end, but it really does give it character.
Uh oh... the pommel episode? I can already hear the jokes being unscrewed.
Good thing he is ending this series.
Rightly.

I'm getting delusions of grandeur here... I only yesterday requested the last part of the sword making progress, and behold, it's here! (Probably had nothing to do with me though 😞)
Fantastic video. Swordmaking is always interesting but particularly so with Sir Lloyd at the helm.
Finally! Thank you, was very interested when I first watched the series
Very enjoyable to watch this process Lloyd . Your pride was overwhelmingly obvious.
Everyone's saying it's taken a year but this series has taken closer to 2 years to finish.
Now just need to find a pig or sheep to test it on. It is always nice to be able to have some good meat to eat after properly testing a new sword.
Lindy had to quickly finish his sword making series to keep it all within the same decade.
Nicely done, sir. A good sword is a pleasure to own, but one you made yourself is a treasure.
A whole year to forge one sword, that's got to be one strong sword there lindybeige
