Fun fact about the classes: all but one has been featured or was inspired by something/someone in previous final fantasies! Black Mage, Red Mage, White Mage, Ninja (and it's prerequisite Rogue), Paladin, Warrior, and Monk were first featured in Final Fantasy 1 Dark Knight and dragoon were from Final Fantasy 2 Summoner, Scholar, Bard and Sage were from final fantasy 3 Samurai and dancer were featured in Final Fantasy 5 (though paladin's prerequisite gladiator was first seen in the GBA version) Machinist and Pictomancer was first seen in Final Fantasy 6 (Thank Edgar and Relm for that!) Astrologian first used in Final Fantasy Tactics (Along with Bard's prerequisite Archer) Gunbreaker was first introduced in Final Fantasy 8 (Thank Squall) And I found out in research that the Viper class was inspired by a mix of Final Fantasy 9 (Zidane) and 12 (some of the judges) The ONLY class out of the series that is unique Final Fantasy 14 is the Reaper!
Don't forget the limited Jobs! Blue Mage was introduce in Final Fantasy 5 The upcoming Beastmaster was also introduced in Final Fantasy 5, but was called Trainer at the time. It wasn't called Beastmaster until Final Fantasy 11.
So one of my favorite things with these job action trailers is when they come out I learn of more RUclipsrs I wasn’t aware of that play the game because RUclips algorithm starts suggesting their reactions Carbuncle is summoner, fairy is scholar, also the bahamut shown by summoner in this trailer is a new appearance! When new jobs are added you have to hit 20 levels under that expansions cap to unlock them (except the heavensward trio but that’s an unusual case) so pictomancer and viper will require a lvl 80 class on your character I’m fairly certain and they start at 80 Also if your unaware now all the jobs now officially share gear type with another job so yay for easy gear sets= Tanks (Paladin, dark knight, warrior, gunbreaker) Healer (white mage, scholar, astro, sage) Caster dps (black mage, summoner, red mage, pictomancer, blue mage) Scouting (ninja, viper) I forget the names but (dragoon, reaper) (monk, samurai) Ranged dps (bard, machinist, dancer)
I did my run as a Gunbreaker for Shadowbringers too. Enjoy the expansion. Something to knots about a Gunbreaker gunblade, while it has the capability of long range attacks, you don’t really shoot with it, it’s more controlled explosions with the blade. You pull the trigger to unleash an explosion at the apex of the strike to deal maximum damage.
don't know if you know this but all the special weapons the Machinist uses are copied from King Edgers tools from FF6. Auto crossbow, Poison Gas, Drill, Chainsaw. The mech you can summon is solely FF14.
Carbuncle is a summoner thing. Eos, the fairy is the scholar thing. Carbuncle is the reason why you are able to put a barrier on yourself and empower others with a damage buff as a summoner.
Dark Knight is a knight who uses some black magic. Naturally they'd lack self healing since drain is usually their only healing spell. However to make up for that, they have some of the best defenses in the game. From anti-magic to powerful barriers making them the only tank capable of outright negating mechanics, or allow someone else to. It still needs stressing though, their defenses are so good, many of the upgrade the other tanks get are based on Dark Knight's. And because they're using black magic, naturally they're great at killing everyone around them.
i just found your channel and instantly sub due how good your looks in that armor haha FYI, they sells the job stones merchs. They even made it as magnets to put into your refrigators! XD
Most healers are white mage because that is the easiest job in the game. They, like many healers are loaded with instant cast heals and do in fact have an attack option while mobile. Dia is the only healer DoT that does instant damage. THAT is your "ruin 2". You're friend claiming it to be hard doesn't know what he's doing.
It's never a good idea to wait until some alleged rework. Why are you so worried about learning easy things? FF14 is one of the most accessible MMOs in the market, no matter how much the idiot playerbase loves to hype up how it's hard not to sabotage yourself. Try hards complain how the controls are getting easier and easier. And outside of bad cases like Stormblood Astro, Machinist and Monk, reworks are extremely easy to learn. That is especially because the goal is usually the same. Dragoon did not get reworked. Astrologian's main style of play has always remained the same, they heal similarly to white mage, except that they are loaded with timed heal bombs and regens. The card system is the only thing changed right now, which went from drawing 1 card at a time to 3 with differing effects.

I love this about FFXIV!

Anytime someone new to FF14 watches the job action trailer: "Oh, that looks cool, I want to play that" for every job. :D Been there haha.
Lol, guilty here! 🤣

Also if your unaware now all the jobs now officially share gear type with another job so yay for easy gear sets=
Tanks (Paladin, dark knight, warrior, gunbreaker)
Healer (white mage, scholar, astro, sage)
Caster dps (black mage, summoner, red mage, pictomancer, blue mage)
Scouting (ninja, viper)
I forget the names but
(dragoon, reaper)
(monk, samurai)
Ranged dps (bard, machinist, dancer)
Thanks for the info's! Soo many cool jobs, so little time!
If it helps, Reaper and Dragoon uses the Maiming sets, Monk and Samurai uses the Striking sets and the ranged dps classes uses the Aiming sets! ^_^

Thanks!
In terms of uniqueness, Dancer first showed up properly in FFXI MMO wise, the XIV one shares some characteristics but is still pretty unique too.
Definitely looks really cool!
Yeah FFXIV is like XI but not completely miserable... -A FFXI Monk main.
I just found your channel while doing my relic grind haha! You two are delight and I'm glad you're enjoying the game so far!!
Thanks! ❤️
First, your background and costume is cool.
second, it's cute when you and your partner play the same game.
I subs to this channel!
Thanks!
You know your in for a good time when the vid opens up with "balls of fire and lightning". 😅
True 🤣

Didnt know that, havent tried Machinist yet, but am playing through FF6 right now (about halfway through) King Edgers is definitely in my top 3!
I'm So Hyped For The Pictomancer Class In The Dawntrail Expansion!
Yeah, it looks really good!
its really interesting getting your guys prospective sense as far as im aware you havent made it to level 90 yet.
Ya, we are just a few days into Stormblood atm, absolutely enjoying!

so dragoon is not really getting a rework, its more like quality of life changes, astro is actually getting a rework tho
Im all for it and ready to start my Dragoon!
i just found your channel and instantly sub due how good your looks in that armor haha
FYI, they sells the job stones merchs. They even made it as magnets to put into your refrigators! XD
Thanks! 🤣
Summoner best class. No debate. Also, does your need to heal precedent your need for murder? Lol
Murder Baddies, Heal Goodies! 🤣
Devenity always loves the BOOOOOM!!!
That's an understatement! 🤣
In terms of Dark Knight, they are more of a magic tank. A few of their abilities is mitigation against magic attacks
Definitely a great class, having a blast with it. Very smooth ability combinations, and amazing story with it!
@Jrocks26 it's the only tank I play, love drk. Dark Knight, Dragoon and ASTRO are my mains.
@Meepz717 you just need machinist and you'll be the face of Ishgard 😅
@@AiroDusk So true. A true Ishgardian 😂
Oohhh Shiva, oooh Igfrit, ooooh Titan...um...ykntjs...
Dark Knight is actually extremely Tanky and has some of the strongest mitigation in the game

You're friend claiming it to be hard doesn't know what he's doing.
is this the first time they officially called us WoL? lol
Pictomancer was introduced in Final Fantasy 6, so it's not really a brand new concept.
!boom
🤣
