Great, no nonsense video with the information I needed. Thanks 😊 My motorcycle surprisingly only has one fuse, and now I can correctly install another circuit.
Could I put a 30 in a 30? I’m adding a power window kit to my truck and the only way to wire it is to my wiper fuse. I want to use a tap but I’m not sure about that, and I also really want my fuse box to still close since it’s right there when you open the door.
They recommend to use less of a fuse to what you are putting it in.... worse thing that could happen I guess is the fuse will blow... probably better to run another circuit to feed your power windows. You could try the tap first and if it not work out you look at running another circuit. You might be fine if you not use the windows (I’m guessing 2) at the same time you are using the wipers. get a few opinions on it. Hope you work something out . Thanks for watching 👍🍻
Hey mate! I don't know if you have been reading my mind or not but this is just the video I needed lol. I am going to hardwire my dashcam in the future using fuse taps. Thank you so much for making this video!

Dear brother, I want use one pair drl light on adding front wipper fuse which is 20 amp.... So how much amp to be add for drl on top fuse tap.... Reply me please brother. Thanks
I would run a new circuit for your driving lights and have it on its own fuse as you would need 20 to 25 amp depending on your driving lights amp draw. Thanks for watching 👍🍻
Brilliant....so so many fuse tap you tube videos go through how to hardwire dashcams only to just bung in the fusetap to the fuse box anyway around and never checking which is the "hot" side which is a very important part of the installation..wish everyone would make people aware of the importance of this..thumbs up from me mate..👍👍
Ohhh i see. So i installed 2 gauges in my vehicle using a 15amp fuse slot and the gauges work but my accessory slot no longer works to use a radar or charge phone. It's because I didn't add a fuse and only used the existing fuse from the circuit. So I should add a 10amp fuse to the top, leave the 15amp original fuse in the bottom and my 12v accessory socket should work again? Or can I add another 15 amp? Pretty sure I would need to run two 15 amp fuses because the original fuse I used was 15 right? This stuff is confusing lol. I just want to be able to run my two .5v gauges and have access to my accessory/cigarette socket at the same time.
@@EFFICIENTSELF Hey man thanks for the swift reply, wow! I edited my post again but basically the slot I'm using was a 15amp slot used to power my accessory socket in my car. Should I add a 15amp to the existing 15amp? or should I run 15 and 10? Subcribed!
You will place too much load on the cable feeding the fuse tap. The fuse taps are great for light load accessories like cb radios, dash cams ,reverse cameras e.t.c. . Like for instance don’t tap into a 30amp fuse and put a 25amp in with it as it not meant for this.. if you want to install heavy power accessories it’s best to create a new circuit with its own fuse. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 👍🍻
Greetings from Oracle, Arizona USA I don’t understand why the added fuse must be at or lower than the original fuse rating. The new load isn’t using the original fuse in any way. This device just adds another receptical to the fuse block. Please explain.
Hey man great video thanks alot! I just bought one and was asking myself if I could put a 45A fuse in the bottom slot if the fuses in the box it came with only goes to 10..? Will the wire be good? I bought the same you did
so im trying to add some drl ligths, I know which fuse is the one for the lights but I need to add this thing, I can just move that fuse on the car to this kit? or I need to get a new fuse to plug in? thanks
I put a set of driving lights in my vehicle . I put one of these fuse taps into my high beam so when I toggle the high beam on the vehicle . I put in a new power circuit for the main power feed for my driving lights to be on the safe side.
Exactly the answer I was looking for! I needed to know if I had to match the amperage that I was going to draw for my dash cam as the feed from the fuse box (5a fuse to use add a circuit to 5a for dashcam) but just like a house circuit it is all about the load and how much will be drawn from it. So, my dash cam has a 5a fuse so I should choose a 15-20a fuse site from the vehicle.
Hi if it’s a 10 amp fuse in the box can I put a 10 amp into the tap cable . but l have just noticed the 10 amp in the fuse box says it’s a spare but when I turn my ignition on , voltage tester lights up Now do I still need both fuse or just the one 10 amp fuse 🤪
Sorry just trying to understand the question .lol. If it says spare then there is voltage coming through?... you can put the 10 in the fuse and the one you are trying to feed needs to be less.... hope it makes sense cheers 🍺
I have a empty slot in my car which is ACC for cigar lighter in the boot which my doesnt have it. But i only have 1 pin/wire in that empty slot, can I still use it with a fuse tap for a backup camera ? Do i still need 2 fuses or just one at the top or bottom ? Will be very helpful to know. :)
From what I read pull out existing fuse that you want to tap into and put in fuse tap and the fuse you pulled out will go into fuse tap and then you will have spare for your backup camera. Hope this helps
Can it be that fuse slot only has one pin with 12v only on ignition? What i meant is if there is a free spot can i can use it for the camera, right ? Sorry English isn't my first language
Hi. So my issue is that both my test probe lights up when the fuse tap is in both ways. It doesnt matter whether i use a multimeter or test probe. Im getting conflicting results. Yes you will need a fuse in the fuse tap for the power to flow through. So no need for fuse down the line . If you have a fuse down the line just connect to power source ( sorry hope I make sense as I’m just answering as how I’m reading it ) thanks for watching bud 👍🍻

Run 15 and put a 10 in .. the second you are running needs to be a smaller fuse ..
@@EFFICIENTSELF Ok, now I think I see! So the 10 will be used to power the gauges and the original 15 will be for accessory socket.
