I’m 60. At 40 after lots of disappointment I had a son. After 2 more years of trying I started ivf with doner eggs. 4 miscarriages and 5 years latter at 48 I had my second son, he’s healthy handsome and 13 years old. He’s smarter than I will ever be. Don’t give up dear. My marriage was woeful but my sons are the joy of my life and the best decision I ever made. I tried for permanent care of children (like adoption but they see their biological parents once a month) I was told at 40 I was too old, my husband said he couldn’t love a child that wasn’t his. hence the IVF. People like you are often the best parents. I am told I have the patience of a saint. Only I know that’s not true, it’s just I never got over the gratitude and love the kids brought into my life. CPS is such a fucking joke in America. My wife, a mandated reporter, had to report a family for EXTREMELY severe abuse and neglect that was literally bragged about to her. Nothing was done. Kid was severely underweight and beaten if he tried to eat. The fuck.

That’s not true CPS IN my STATE DOES BACKGROUND CHECKS ON EVERYONE in a home over 13. It’s the private agencies that are reckless and do poor work. Not all but most POS, purchase of service workers, are underpaid, overworked. Some care others don’t.
I’m a foster mother and I go through an agency. They do a background check on everyone every 2 years. This is actually my 2nd agency and they’ve both done background checks. There’s a lot that goes into becoming a foster parent. The paperwork is insane. It took me 4 months to be licensed with my first agency and 8 months with my second. (Was my fault it took that long. Could have had it done in about 6 months)

As a social worker, I would have never left the house without doing the scheduled visit. Idgaf if someone is sick, im going in and checking in on the kid. I'll get the police involved if I have to

Something that is hardly ever talked about is how many foster families neglect and abuse their foster kids. It happens all the time. These people need to be religiously vetted, damn near stalked before cleared, because the consequence of not might be a child getting raped for 10 years. Think about it. Their like "We want a kid." and we're like "Whatever, here ya go."...Thats royally screwed up.
You would think they would have to go through a background and mental health screening. I always hear that it's a hard and long drawn out process to become foster parents. So, how these people were actually able to is a mystery. It baffles me!
Unfortunately, I dare say it has more to do with cost than anything else. It's tragic and wrong, these are the most vulnerable in our community and it comes down to money.
I'm in the UK. There's a famous case here, the case of Baby P. In this case the social left him with his mother. A woman with a boyfriend and a male lodger living in the home. She had the social completely snowed. All three adults were violently abusing this poor little boy, and his egg donor used to smear chocolate on his face to hide the bruises whenever the social came calling. Little P died of horrific injuries, he was 3. Like Marcus.
I'm 57. I can remember reports on the news back in the 70s some heinous slime had killed a child under their care, the outrage, the "lessons will be learned". When? It is clear that they never are. That children are continually put in danger, not only by unfit parents, but by the system that fails at every turn. When are we going to do right?
I agree. In Sweden it's very common the Foster families abuse, starve and mistreat the children in their "care".
Idk if it's just me, but it seems like this would more often than not happen to a disabled kid. It's like that demographic is overlooked in any social work system.
I live in Butler Co. and I remember this too well. The last time the caseworker was there and was turned away, he was dead upstairs. I watched this unfold and it was sickening. Little Marcus was autistic, had ADHD and they believed fetal alcohol syndrome. His mother had mental health issues and I believe some type of other disability. She was overwhelmed and grossly under supported. The worst thing CPS did, besides letting her child die, was to attempt to put HER on display as a failure rather than admitting they had killed another kid. It was summer time when they left that baby ALONE IN A DARK CLOSET. He died very slowly and painfully. Alone, in the dark, beaten, betrayed, forgotten.
IT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. All 3 of them are monsters and deserved the death penalty. Butler Co CPS should have been dismantled YEARS ago. They've done nothing to restore any faith in them. I would NEVER let them near my family.
Same with Fulton County and Lucas County CPS! Bunch of sickos in Ohio who know just how to slip things under the rug.
I could choose better foster families than many of the people hungry for the large stipend from the multiple kids.
The worst thing is when the foster family and their bio kids get in on the abuse.
Withholding food, eating food or buying treats ONLY for the bio brats, hitting, smacking, the toddler fell down the stairs let's blame it on one of the other foster kids, S.A
Some of the people hide behind some sweet, pious front but Secretly they're wolves in sheep's clothing being allowed to abuse kids who are most in need snd who many times are reunited with their bio family needing therapy and medication from the PTSD, depression, anxiety & panic disorders, eating disorders.
Many times these parents don't even recognize the children or carry that guilt with them because they couldn't care for their children at the time so they had to entrust this fkd up system that really is failing these kids and sometimes entire families are destroyed when removal could've been avoided.
I live in Warren county and remember this as well, it was absolutely horrific!! It still makes me cry .

@@brittanyfrost7472 if his birth mother had gotten the support she needed, that little boy might still be alive. She had a lot of issues but it was more about neglect than abuse. I believe Marcus had special needs that had never been addressed, not by his Mom or CPS. Those folks should have NEVER been allowed to foster. NEVER. Butler County CPS, sadly like too many other similar agencies, has had a reputation of gross neglect. It's really scary when you consider that it's still a largely rural county. Imagine what CPS in Cincinnati deals with and I don't think they've killed as many kids as Butler County has. It's the CPS worker not bothering to put eyes on him. She was at the house and didn't bother demanding to lay eyes on him.

I sincerely don't believe they thought he would be okay. The scumbag couple both said things that suggested Marcus had died before they even left. They might have just left him because they couldn't take a corpse with them, or they just didn't care if he would die in the closet. They're evil.

I was in the foster system from age 6 to 18 and only one of the 15 freaking homes I was sent to were good caring people. I was abused by most of them or neglected. Worst feeling in the world. What happened to this little guy is incomprehensible! The foster system everywhere needs a complete overhaul. It's terrible no matter what state you're in.

GODDAM my first and final home (adopted by them) was so great. My heart hurts for my fellow kids going through foster care. I cannot stress how much disgust I have for people taking advantage of other children.

She couldn't take care of him, but then giving him up to the state he ended up in an even more neglectful situation. I'm glad she was able to sue.

There are lots of mother's out there that aren't capable of caring for their kid and the vast majority would never have the strength or the love to actually hand them over and do something about it.

I never understand these cases being a mother myself. My kids are in the 30s and I'm still protecting them to an extent.
I have the same parents!, Im 30 but my parents are still on my side whenever they see me in need. So I made the decision to give them the best retirement ever. They're in their 70's and I take care of em every single day and that alone makes me happy and content

I was in care in the 80s and was fostered by less than desirable foster parents. Money makes the world go round.
The problem with people who start up agencies is that they don't do all the necessary checks or research into potential foster parents. It's not uncommon for children to end up in a worse place than they were removed from.
As a woman struggling with infertility right now these are the hardest kinds of cases to listen to... yet I also think it's important that these poor children are never forgotten and that we never stop demanding better for the most vulnerable children

@Moonlight adoption is extremely traumatic and while it can be extremely beautiful and the best outcome for the family and child, sometimes it’s not. many adopted children struggle to the point of wishing they never existed in the first place. and as someone who also struggles with infertility - we know adoption is an option. wanting a biological child is not a bad thing, neither is wanting to foster or adopt but it is by no means some rosy, only happy endings type choice. adoption is trauma.

The abandonment, abuse, death and neglect that led to the child's removal is traumatic.

Hi jean i am old too and these stories get me upset also. I can deal with grown ups doing evil things to each other because that is just what they do but when it is done to a child it boils my blood.

This hits so close to home and it breaks my heart 💔💔 My baby boy is severely autistic and epileptic. He’s 100% dependent on me. He cannot do anything for himself. He’s 19. He’s not potty trained, he can’t bathe, feed, dress or undress himself. He’s also completely non verbal. I could no longer care for him by myself so he went to a foster family. They are older, in their early 60’s. They’ve had him since 2017. They are Christians. They have done so much for my baby. He has come such a long way. They love him so much. He used to have really bad temper tantrums. He used to stay up for days at a time. He also used to have seizures all day everyday. His seizures have decreased significantly, he doesn’t have any tantrums anymore and he sleeps every night now. I also get him every wknd. I have heard of so many stories like this, of not only foster parents abusing or murdering kids, but also biological parents doing these things as well. I can NEVER hurt my baby or any of my kids I have 3. I love my kids so much and I’m also so grateful to GOD for placing my baby with such good people. I pray for all children to be loved and cared for the way they are supposed to be.

this is a touching story, i’m happy for you, your son, and his foster parents. there is so much abuse that happens in the foster system, especially towards disabled people. i’m glad that your story is not one of those cases and that you made the choice to seek out good people to help raise your son
I feel bad for the kids biological mom, it was clear she just wasn't prepared for all this. Anf not from lack of wanting to provide for the child but lack of ability to do so with his mental health and her own only making this so so much harder.

Raising children is hard enough but with an autistic child, a family needs more support, the neighbours saw the biological mum crying and being exhausted, she did what she thought was the best for the precious baby, at that time, only fault and blame are the scum bags that left him in that house,

I’m sorry, idk how anyone else is feeling about his biological mom, but I honestly feel so horrible for her. If you struggle with mental health, you understand how you can make one shitty decision in a manic state, and immediately regret it after. You feel horrible. I still live with guilt over things I said to those I loved when I was 13. I can’t imagine the grief she feels. I’m not surprised she was left speechless cause honestly so am I on how to describe that pain she must feel everyday. RIP Marcus like I just don’t understand why it’s so common for people to do this to children. Will literally take them in just to abuse them and complain about them. Straight up go through a whole admissions process to get these kids. Don’t have a child if you don’t want, nor can take care of them. You can always adopt. It’s not fair to that child. You’d think bringing a whole life into the world, you’d want to give them a better one than you had. I got to many friends who are products of this shit. Either went through hell in foster care, or their parents kept having children despite not being able to take care of one. Shits sad af man. These kids have no solid foundation to become functioning adults.
Exactly! I’m still in therapy at 35 trying to work out all my trauma but I love my children so much that I know better than to raise them as I was! Nobody cared about my education or where I was, I was in and out of foster care and group homes…. My life was rough but I’d be damn if I will give my babies a rough childhood! Like my kids are innocent, they want hugs & cuddles, they need us to protect them and support them, to guide them in life, to become strong educated adults. The biological mother thought she was giving him a better life! That hurts my heart knowing her boy wasn’t being loved and cared for….

The real criminals, second to the foster parents, are CPS for not properly doing their job. Child Protective Services, it's in their name for God's sake.
She kept her abusive boyfriend and got rid of the kid. In order for people to avoid unwanted children, abortion needs to be an available option. Too bad its gonna get worse since the supreme court plans to make it illegal.

The agency almost certainly didn't train them, didn't provide support, didn't provide a network, didn't match them properly and didn't even do basic checks.
As a young adult I honestly thought foster parents took in kids because they loved children. Then I found out that most do it for money. Not because they love children

@@annetriaseward2372 he didn't get 15 years. He got 15 to life. This only means he was eligible for parole after 15 years. If you don't know how that works, it means that he has to have a hearing before the parole board. They review everything- his behavior since he's been in prison (if he's been in trouble/causing problems or been acting right and tak8ng steps towards being a better person), the crime itself (severity/brutality are usually very much a part of this), community response (the community can write letters to the DA or even show up for or against him being granted parole), etc. Then they decide if the person gets paroled or not, if so, do they get some kind of supervision period (all will have to see a parole officer and follow a bunch of rules but some may be further monitored or have restrictions put on them) or if no parole, how long before they can apply for parole again. Also, whether they've expressed and shown remorse can play a big part. And just a few "I'm so sorry" or "I feel really bad about what I did" statements doesn't cut it. They've heard it before. I mentioned severity of crime plays a part and people get very riled up when someone gets like 25 or 30 to life but if some guy picks up a woman and then strangles her to death and dismembers her body, he's not getting parole after doing the minimum. Sometimes it has to do with the crime they're found guilty of. Not every crime can just have any sentence the judge chooses. Sentencing guidelines and maximums/minimums 3xist.
But you should know that this jackass DID get 15 TO LIFE, not simply 15 years. And he was up for parole in July in 2022. Which was denied. And his next parole hearing isn't until 2032.
My older brothers (twins) have autism, and my parents realized they were overwhelmed after they found the boys kicking a baby-me - a surprise kid, 3 years after the twins despite my mom getting a tubal ligation after having them. My parents put the boys up for adoption in hopes they could be put with more capable parents, and luckily they were adopted by amazing people so their story ended up so much different from this video. It's sickening to think how they could have ended up. All kids deserve a safe and loving home.

@@funnyvidsandalilsinging7713 my brothers ended up with loving parents and I can't say the same having stayed with our birth parents. It sounds incomprehensible to anyone outside our situation but it really was the best thing they could have done for my brothers. I spent most of my childhood wishing they'd put me up for adoption too, or just aborted me instead. The things that happened under that roof are hard to think about, let alone put the details on blast in youtube comments.
How can a woman who can't handle her own children be a babysitter?
I'm so sick of stories of kids being abused or dying in these situations. I don't know how these people in these agencies sleep at night.

The system is broken. People should not be paid to foster children. This would eliminate people like this fostering children. Second, adoption should be free of charge. With these two changes, children without a home would be cared for properly by people who actually care.
I think its that there's so many kids and some people can give the love but arent wealthy enough to adopt and pay for the childs needs. Its supposed to be paying for the child not paying the foster parents.
Eliminating the foster stipend would make it impossible to foster except for the wealthy. This would vastly cut the already limited pool of host families (not to mention that wealthy foster families can be just as abusive).
The fixes are already obvious: More stringent vetting and oversight of host families. These require increased agency funding, and incentives for students to pursue social work.
Yeah, that’s stupid. People need the stipend to take care of the kids unless they are rich. Too many kids in the system to wait for rich people.

It’s no wonder people think RUclipsrs or sorry “content creators”, I meant to say, are lazy bums who do not do anything for society as honestly it’s true as frankly it’s not hard to make a video such as this especially when there is an abundance of “content creators” that do the same and are proud without the need to push their channel for awareness. It truly disgusts me that there are people sitting in prisons across the US right now that have a longer sentence for smoking weed then these scumbags that kill and abuse children. Our justice system is so damn backwards.
I'm bipolar and would have to go off of meds that had made me happily stable (asst bank manager and everything), but being taken off of those to try to have a baby would brutalize me. Hubby and I want to foster so much and it's crap like this that makes the idea of someone with mental health issues fostering such a bad thing. We're not all the same.

Before I was diagnosed I would come home from work about once a month, sit at the dining table and cry for half an hour then keep going about my life. We are extremely sensitive and the thing you are taught when you start receiving support is to be less reactive. An undiagnosed autistic parent around children who are extremely reactive by nature is a recipe for disaster.
We NEED to stop centering the autistic narrative around just children while excluding adults. Autism assessments NEED to be made accessible for all.
I’ve seen autistic parents with mental health support excel wonderfully in raising emotionally resilient well rounded children. Finding ways to connect with their child where others have failed.
Not everyone has a mental health affliction and not everyone needs to be labeled for just those reasons 🤦🏻♂️

@@sy_dianne5224 Caring for a kid with special needs is a challenge a lot of people aren't prepared for, especially when your own mental health is deteriorating. She got overwhelmed, but tried to do what she thought would be best for her kid. She WAS trying to care for him in that way, she just trusted people that weren't worthy of that trust. What happened wasn't her fault.

She expected that they would do what they were supposed to, and gave him up because she thought they could give him support in a way she couldn't. From her perspective, she was trying to do what was best for him and give him a better situation. You are blaming someone who was also a victim in this case, someone who did what should have been the right thing. The reason it wasn't is because the people tasked with placing and caring for him failed in every possible way.

I've been working with neurodiverse individuals for nearly my entire adult life. It's one of the most challenging and rewarding things I've ever done. Some people aren't built to care for others, whether the person in their care is an adult or a child, but these people are disgusting beyond belief. Nobody forced them to foster a child, they CHOSE to do so, despite clearly lacking the patience and compassion needed to be parents. May Marcus rest in peace! And I hope those monsters exist in a perpetual state of torment for the rest of their days.
She could have gotten the child extra care. He was already going to a special school. She was lazy and weak.
I’m at the beginning and I already know this sweet little boy deserved so much better! To many adults dropped the ball. Ughh kids in foster homes need extra love! They deserve love and a happy healthy childhood! Come on people we have to protect our children! Ughh I’m just irked that these kids aren’t giving the care they need.

Ugh!! Seeing their little faces is always heartbreaking. Especially when theirs "autism" or any disorder involved. My to nephews are autistic. My older nephew is extremely autistic with asperger's. Hes 15 & still sleeps in a "diaper." So awful. So these stories always touch a nerve, especially children in general. None of their sentences were heavy enough. It's a disheartening experience to watch citizens in the U.S. get longer sentences for stuff like nonviolent drug crimes, etc. than for murder, rape, and child abuse. I'm so sorry that the whole life of this innocent child was horrid, just terror from beginning to end. Did he EVER get to know what it felt like to be loved and protected, even for a little bit? These are the thoughts that make me the sickest. I'm glad that sweet kid isn't suffering anymore. That's literally the only good thing that I can say about any of this. Until the consequences of abusing a child are a lot harsher in this country children are going to keep dying. My brother committed suicide to escape the abuse & abuser. Foster families need to be vetted even more than they are. We need more digging into who they are. More references. More everything! More check ins with the kids at random. Etc.
I grew up with foster kids. A few of who even at 42 I still talk to and see it family functions. We were by no means rich. I just had wonderful parents who believe that children should be loved. It's true that you get paid to foster, but it doesn't make you rich. And to victimize a child for such a little amount of money, for any amount of money for that matter is so foreign to me. I could never nor would I ever want to put my self in someone's mind who could do things like this. All these foster kids require is like the most minimal amount of love and safety. And I can't believe that's too much for some people

Plenty of people have bipolar disorder and are great parents. This has little to nothing to do with his disorder and all to do with the fact he is a monster.
Good Job at telling this story. I live in Cincinnati and remember when this happened like it was yesterday. My heart literally broke for little Marcus. At least he’s not around those monsters anymore, definitely in a better place now for sure!

I’ve had to pause and restart this at least 10 times, certain cases just get to me 😥and usually it’s anything about kids, the innocent, vulnerable little ones, they’re all liars, along with most government agencies, what a joke they are, 🤬 besides Marcus 😥I feel especially bad for the birth mother, who thought she was doing the right thing. A sweet ,but energetic shall we say ,little boy, parents admitting they can’t handle it is the best thing to do, but then there are cases like this and many more that make you question that …..🤬….thanks for this upload in particular, I didn’t remember a lot and I probably didn’t pay attention back then, because my son was really little at that time too, mentally ,gets to me, hard to stomach but I know it’s real life, I could go on 4 days….thank you again,👍🏻👍🏻 to you/your work,✌🏻💕 for your weekend.

I feel so bad for the real mother imagine not being able to look after your children but still love them then temporarily give them to people you thought where trusted and once you get better you will get your children back and then finding out this happened to your child she wasn’t a terrible person she just wasn’t ready and couldn’t handle him at the time and needed help and admitting that showed she loved her child this is so heartbreaking and the poor child had gone threw horrible things Rip Angel 🙏🙏🙏

Anyone who is watching this likely knows how incompetent CPS/Social Services is as a whole, but Ohio is one of the worst. CPS in general needs to be demolished & rebuilt from the ground up, with CHILDREN as their number one priority & not money. They lost sight of that back in the 90’s & everything’s been going downhill since then… Just disheartening to keep watching this happen, but on an entirely more aggressive level these days. Ripping apart good families, while neglecting those that truly need them.
Those precious little humans, all their concerns in life is toys, playing and have someone to take care of them. How could someone have the heart to harm them i have no idea. I hate crimes that involves children, makes me depresset the whole day.

I grew up in Brown county and I remember this case like it was yesterday. It was horrible, tragic, and heartbreaking. Marcus is only a few years younger than my own sons, so I watched this case as it unfolded. It gripped the Cincinnati, Ohio area and we ALL went through a roller coaster of emotions and opinions on the case. It's sad and scary that someone who is put in a position to care for a child could do this.
The impact on the community it had was CRAZY. It did make the foster system in MANY counties, Ohio, and Kentucky look into A LOT and they improved. It was crazy situation due to being over a few counties and in Kentucky as well.
People who abuse the innocent, deserve the Old Testament, an eye for an eye punishment. Plain and simple. 🤬
Our son is autistic, extremely verbal and totally depends on me for everything. Our son will be 29 next month but mentally he's between 6 and 7 years old, a little boy trapped in a man's body. Little Maurice is such a cutie, his eyes were bright and very beautiful. This poor beautiful angel, why couldn't they take him the reunion, they took the other kids, why lock him in a closet, in a blanket knowing how hot it was. The dog was treated better than this poor little boy. The foster care system doesn't seem to do a very good job doing a thorough job as far as background checks on perspective foster parents.

Ohio children services is pure worthless. My grandsons always tell me that their mother’s boyfriend keeps hitting them, one even said he punched him in the stomach. I have called Ohio children services three times and they never never check into it. In fact, they don’t even go over there because the mothers, mother works for the domestic violence department within her vicinity. Therefore, my grandson’s mother only gets welfare calls. Absolutely no public visits. If something happens to one of my grandkids, I am going to sue the shit out of children services. And why would they have to call to let parents know that they are going to have a call or a visit? This is part of the problem. This arrangement does nothing to protect the children because the parents have time to clean up their house, put food in the cupboards and lecture their children to shut up.

This happened very close to me. I live in Hamilton, OH which is very close to Middletown. My mother her entire life has worked with disabled people and when she found out poor Marcus was murdered it broke her heart.
The fact that his mom was able to recognize that she was struggling and could no longer care for him and wanted him to go to a loving home…I respect that. However, it breaks my heart what happened to him. 😕
So many people become Foster parents only because they want money and they mistreat abuse and even kill the poor kids.
