I've been addicted to gambling. I won like 47k one time and another 73k the next weekend, and I kept going back thinking I was gonna win big again. Nope. Left it all behind. It put me in a very very depressing state. Took me a long time to get over it. Never going to a casino again and I showed my friend this video , who started getting into gambling and was losing alot.
I work programing and giving maintenance to slot machines around my country (Mexico) so I can give an opinion about not-so-big casinos. I think some folks there are "paying for the experience"- they become friends with other players, the dealers, hosts and whoever they find there (even me sometimes) so they kinda enjoy themselves even if they lose. There is a lot of retired folks who go there mostly to socialize- some are even wise in the way they gamble, so they only allow themselves to lose a bit and then they just stay around chillin' with other players.
That's me. I gamble for fun every now and then, and the degenerates at the casino really ruin the experience for me. Most people don't seem to have this discipline though, so it's a hobby I don't introduce friends to
I work backend at a small casino and can assure you that this is entirely the case. Not only do I know a fair few regulars by name, but they're often friends with regulars who show up and happen to often have overlaps in their stays. Even one of our high rollers (craps player) will come and socialize at the bar after big wins or big losses.
I wouldnt trust "emergency exit" signs. At my last job they used that for a door they didn't want anyone going into. Imagine running in there and gettimg stuck.
Exits are easy to find, the cashier's cage is always in the middle and you have to go through a gauntlet of tables and machines to get out after cashing out
+Slank It's not a scam. People do actually win, sometimes big wins, and people also know there is a good chance of losing, before they ever hand any money over. Generally, people know exactly what's at stake. It's a gamble sure, hence the name gambling, but not a scam. With a scam, people don't have a chance of wining anything, and they don't know there is a chance of losing, until their money is already gone. There's a big difference.
My dad is a card dealer for the Venetian here in Vegas. He says that the dealers lets the player win, because it makes them feel lucky and try gambling again. The casino doesn’t ever lose money, because the player always comes back, betting all their money and then losing all that money. The casino always wins.

My parents had a friend who is a card counter for blackjack. His day job is biology professor. Several times a year he will go to Vegas and win $2000 at a casino then move on to another casino. End of the trip he is $30,000 richer. One year he gave my dad and my friend’s dad $2000 each to have some fun. Once my dad gambled away his $2000 it was done. The video did say "about" 90%, but more specific, the Nevada State Gaming Commission actually mandates a minimum payback rate of 92% (or higher) for slots, and some casinos do have a higher payback for marketing and/or competition reasons. Statistically, the house does still always win in the end, but I'd still rather take my chances in Nevada, where there is a minimum payback that's tightly regulated by law, than in some of the unregulated casinos outside of Nevada. If a casino is unregulated, they could technically have a 0% payback if they chose to, though it probably wouldn't be too good for business.
I mean even in games where you also have about an even chance as the casino like blackjack, they still cheat and you lose all of your money even if you know how to strategically play.
Ryan W took me a second to realise why that's significant. Though everyone has phones, though this logic applies to the period before phones flawlessly
Evilijah 39 oh yea they got many tactics some really clever one thing they do is constantly replacing roulette table because its possible to calculate the odds of where it will land so they got to keep changing it to prevent that
It's actually not true. There's usually clocks on the walls in the little cafes/restaurants that are in casinos. Though the nearest one may be several hundred feet away. It's probably easier to ask someone what time it is if you don't have any electronic device that tells you the time. It's really not a big deal, even less now since almost everyone is carrying a cellphone which tells the time.
When you go to Vegas for example and gamble you go for fun. You already know you are going to loose the money, the point is to have a great time and enjoy your time there. Just don't go overboard.
"You can hit them, you can fold them, stack the deck and weigh the dice. All that glitters isn't golden, cash that cheque you'll pay the price, might be safer in the desert, only dust to judge your sins. But those who wager aren't so clever, cause in heaven, well the house always wins."
Poker is your best bet because you aren't playing against the house. Your odds to win are even since there is no house edge. As the video says they take a small % of the total pot (usually like 5% iirc).Games like Pai Gaw have really good odds too, but the catch is you have to pay a commission when you win (ie you bet 15$, but you only win like 14$ and keep your initial bet). If the game is not in the poker room, its stacked for the house in some way.
i did my homework about 15 years ago when i went on a short day bus trip to atlantic city. i played blackjack. only had pepsi or coca cola and zero alcohol. i played about 6 hours and only lost about 80$ on the day. so not bad for a fun day. for full disclosure, i did play about 5 minutes on one slot machine (spent about 10-15$ but hit a $50 payout and walked away.) just like you said though, biggest thing is DO YOUR HOMEWORK, DONT DRINK, AND RUN IF U HIT A DECENT PAYOUT.
I worked for many years in Gaming Security. I have seen so many people lose their paycheck or life savings. People get slot vision. It is like tunnel vision. They can only see the machines and believe they will win. After all I have seen over the years. I never go to a casino. You are going to lose.
Here’s my mentality if I go to a casino. My favorite game to play is Blackjack, and for instance I walk in prepared to lose say $500. Why would I gradually bet and dwindle away my money that I know I’m going to lose anyway? But if I bet it all at once, I either walk away broke or twice as wealthy as I walked in with. And with blackjack it’s different I think, it’s a game of skill. Unlike the totally random chances of slots and roulette, in blackjack you can nudge your chances with smart plays.
Some casino's have signs that say the alcohol is so expensive as to, "Deter patrons from over drinking". Drunks want to get wasted so they still pay. If they dont gamble their money away to the casino, they will drink it away.
Welcome to what everyone already knows, we don't go to casinos to make money, we go to them to have fun, it's not sinister. You wouldn't think it's sinister for amusement parks to charge money to use the rides, there's no difference here except it's a mental roller coaster instead of a physical one.
i dont like gambling, i stop as soon as i win and i mostly win because of it. i went to a casino a few times and i hate it there, the desperation in the air in too much for me.
I gamble for fun. If you allow yourself to drain your bank account, it will happen. Every single time. If you can take 100 bucks, and leave when you win it can be a lot of fun. It takes a level of self control to play slots that many people dont have.
I lived in Las Vegas for 1yr and there’s one thing you should really know and that is that ALL the windows in the casino are painted black so you don’t know if is night or day dose making you stay longer .
I also heard on good authority that there is a massive oxygen pumping system that helps keep you awake in most of the major casinos, especially in Vegas. that's why when you go in a place such as Mandalay Bay everyone seems to be smoking but you don't really smell the smoke. And then it's 5am Pacific, 8am EST and you're still wide awake gambling. It's not just Red Bulls and dopamine hits, there is something in the air that keeps you wide awake. 🙌

I’m 22 and have been to a casino maybe 4 times and it’s basically like a large arcade but instead of tokens you use money. They also do try to keep you there though by giving you beer, coke, Pepsi etc. I play the cheapest slots. I never play cards or anything.
I went inside of one for the first time last week, the exits being hard to find is definitely true. My dad basically gave me a tour of the whole place so I wouldn't get lost. Every exit pretty much has a large array of slot machines before it, the area with all the tables has zero clocks and no natural light whatsoever to mess with your circadium rhythm, the roof wallpaper also looks like the sky. There also happens to be a bar close to every exit to distract you from actually finding the exit and probably pressure you into drinking more. Tbh it's not even that exciting, but that's probably just because I didn't choose to gamble.
Casinos makes money when you get greedy and you stay there believing you will hit the jackpot. By the end of the day, you walk out with your hands in your pocket broke. 😂
No suprise here, and i still do it 30 years now, Lotto, Gambling etc.. hoping to strike it once in my life time, and then i will stop. ( or die trying :D )
I live near a huge casino and visit so I can take long walks in the air conditioning. I've considered it as a possible employment option for myself or husband but always come back to the thought of promoting a place that exploits people who have gambling addictions. Yeah yeah they have a choice but so does every crackhead and heroin addict. It's just not right.

You made a video about scaring people into not being taken advantage of and ended with an advertisement on how not to.
Well played, sir.
The ones that win, have quick save and load option though.
Beautiful neon lights in and out of casinos...
I must play one of their games...
I mean even in games where you also have about an even chance as the casino like blackjack, they still cheat and you lose all of your money even if you know how to strategically play.
By making sure there is no clocks
Ryan W took me a second to realise why that's significant. Though everyone has phones, though this logic applies to the period before phones flawlessly
This is actually true. They also install roofs that look like the sky so drunk people dont leave and keep going at it.
Don't know about other countries or city's but here in Melbourne, Australia by law all gambling venues must have a clock. Including gaming machines.
Last time I went to Vegas me and my ex made around $360 in one night on slots in little wins ($30 to $100 range). Harrahs and NY NY have loose slots.
When you go to Vegas for example and gamble you go for fun. You already know you are going to loose the money, the point is to have a great time and enjoy your time there. Just don't go overboard.
The only way to beat the house every single time......
Stay home u win what u didn’t loose!!
or play poker
Or buying the casino... well, only if you have a mint worth of money
Play mechanical roulette. It shows you what is hitting and what is not. Also play colors over individual numbers.
"You can hit them, you can fold them, stack the deck and weigh the dice. All that glitters isn't golden, cash that cheque you'll pay the price, might be safer in the desert, only dust to judge your sins. But those who wager aren't so clever, cause in heaven, well the house always wins."
Always wins
i learn so much from this channel love you so much
Your videos help feed my insatiable hunger for ULTIMATE KNOWLEDGE
man how do you manage to make all these vids keep up the good work i think you will get a diamond play button
My dumbass thought that was Spongebob and Patrick on the thumbnail.
I though that too, and was going to comment the same.
You on the demi lovato huh?
Kevin McCall Lmao glad to see I’m not the only one who thought that
Poker is your best bet because you aren't playing against the house.
Should this even be a question? I think it’s fairly obvious
i did my homework about 15 years ago when i went on a short day bus trip to atlantic city. i played blackjack. only had pepsi or coca cola and zero alcohol. i played about 6 hours and only lost about 80$ on the day. so not bad for a fun day. for full disclosure, i did play about 5 minutes on one slot machine (spent about 10-15$ but hit a $50 payout and walked away.) just like you said though, biggest thing is DO YOUR HOMEWORK, DONT DRINK, AND RUN IF U HIT A DECENT PAYOUT.
Make one on cicada 3301
Matt_Trees oh yeah yeah
I worked for many years in Gaming Security. I have seen so many people lose their paycheck or life savings. People get slot vision. It is like tunnel vision. They can only see the machines and believe they will win. After all I have seen over the years. I never go to a casino. You are going to lose.
I won half a mil from a Casino I still have that money in my bank account lol
You won half mil from casino and lost all back
Sure, Jan
Here’s my mentality if I go to a casino. My favorite game to play is Blackjack, and for instance I walk in prepared to lose say $500. Why would I gradually bet and dwindle away my money that I know I’m going to lose anyway? But if I bet it all at once, I either walk away broke or twice as wealthy as I walked in with. And with blackjack it’s different I think, it’s a game of skill. Unlike the totally random chances of slots and roulette, in blackjack you can nudge your chances with smart plays.
Not even Donald Trump could figure this out...
Some casino's have signs that say the alcohol is so expensive as to, "Deter patrons from over drinking". Drunks want to get wasted so they still pay. If they dont gamble their money away to the casino, they will drink it away.
$100 on 00 every time!! you'll walk out with 20-30$k
Welcome to what everyone already knows, we don't go to casinos to make money, we go to them to have fun, it's not sinister. You wouldn't think it's sinister for amusement parks to charge money to use the rides, there's no difference here except it's a mental roller coaster instead of a physical one.
I watched Kakegurui a gambling anime, so know I'm an expert in gambling.🙂
whats that
i dont like gambling, i stop as soon as i win and i mostly win because of it.
i went to a casino a few times and i hate it there, the desperation in the air in too much for me.
What’s more addicting casinos or fortnite??
WIZKID Jr. Fortnite of course
i have lost respect for you as a person cause you like fortnite
+WIZKID Jr. I lost respect for you as well.
Casino 😊
PUBG IS BETTER THAN FORTNITE
I went to the casino in windsor ont 3 times and beat the house 1x in slots and 2x playing 1 on 1 vs the dealer!
The writers for this episode must have had terrible experiences at the casino🤣
I gamble for fun. If you allow yourself to drain your bank account, it will happen. Every single time. If you can take 100 bucks, and leave when you win it can be a lot of fun. It takes a level of self control to play slots that many people dont have.
Simple. They steal yours.
When RUclips recommends a video uploaded 10 seconds ago
Why do I run to find a spot to watch these videos no matter what! lol
I lived in Las Vegas for 1yr and there’s one thing you should really know and that is that ALL the windows in the casino are painted black so you don’t know if is night or day dose making you stay longer .
no clocks either
I just came to see if I could win some money here!
The most messed up casino: The Devils Casino. _they literally bet your soul_

12 years ago, my dad concluded his PHD at the UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA, he earned his degree on ¨GAME THEORY¨, every time I visited his place I glanced his text books, Markov Chains, Statistics, etc. Ever since then, I learned the easy way of keeping my hard earned cash. $$

I have never been to a casino
Bcuz im underage
Queen Vicky I’m underage and I’ve still been at one, I do kickboxing and a few teammates were having fights there so I went to support them
Not ib my country two guards in the entrance
I’ve been to the Venetian, galaxy and sands hotel in macau. The building and scenery are phenomenal
Casinos makes money when you get greedy and you stay there believing you will hit the jackpot. By the end of the day, you walk out with your hands in your pocket broke. 😂
Greg B Walk into a casino with your pockets full of money and walk out with bunny ears
This education actually nailed it perfectly trust me I'm fully aware of how casinos work.

Day trading or what?
I've read Las Vegas NV is now bad, 2019 & going down quick.... hotels, resorts restaurants are losing $. 1 Oct did not help the scene...
You should do a episode on the british "Acid bath murderer" Serial killer (John George Haigh)
casino's are a ripoff.
JB gregorio gaming yup
Unfortunately, casino's only allow a certain types of "strategies" when it comes to blackjack.
Thanks for slowing down the animations, daddy
Love your videos, hate the skillshare ads.

*casinos bankrupt*
TeShiky not at all people will still come it's similar to the non-smoking health ads or what drinking does to you speeches....how many of them you've seen? Do you think people will stop smoking or drinking? Will the tobacco or alcoholic companies go bankrupt anytime soon? HELL NO!!
