This was my most important interview. After talking with Brett for 3 hours, I found him to be extremely intelligent, thoughtful, and ethical. As always, the most helpful thing you can do is just to share the podcast - send it to friends, group chats, Twitter, Reddit, forums, and wherever else men and women of fine taste congregate. To help pay the bills for my podcast, I'm turning on paid subscriptions on Substack No major content will be paywalled - please don't donate if you think twice before buying a cup of coffee But if you have the means & have enjoyed my podcast, I would appreciate your support 🙏 www.dwarkeshpatel.com/subscribe
This is some of your finest work, Dwarkesh. I have supported your work/content for a while, even as it gave me occasional discomfort (I generally view you as Libertarian/contrarian leaning). But this episode really highlighted your own evolution, as an observer of the space. Well done.
That is very kind of you! I appreciate you giving me a listen over the months/years as I learn more and develop a more nuanced understanding of the world.
Great episode! FYI Carmack did not come up with fast inverse square root, from wiki: "The algorithm was often misattributed to John Carmack, but in fact the code is based on an unpublished paper by William Kahan and K.C. Ng circulated in May 1986."
This guy claimed in a recorded interview with superstonk mod platinum sparkles that all the tokenized stocks he created at ftx were backed 1:1 by the underlying. This ties in with citadel's role in the GameStop scandal. This should be investigated further, Harrison could be a Rosetta stone for understanding the modern American financial crime system.

Ah my bad! Thanks for pointing it out!
Thanks!
Very kind of you!
Redeemed yourself for the SBF episode and how :)
❤️
Dwarkesh is super handsome with a very pleasing and appealing voice.
Sam was drugging on his own hype and thought and thinks even after his guilty verdicts, he's smarter than everyone.

Just keep him in mind as the economy crumbles, and remember his role in turning equity markets into a ponzi scheme.
This is a controversial topic! My strongly held opinion is that OCaml is better.
One more scam
FTX US president didn't know what was going on. Yeah for sure.
