LYRICS IN ENGLISH: Lift your sails to the heavens, steer straight towards the horizon. A bright, shining dream - a treasure waits for you. Rough waves may toss your ship, storms may rage in your path. If you proceed without fear, friends will give you a hand. As the winds propel you on your journey, steer with anticipation and hope. Help everyone as you proceed, never forgetting kindness and courage. Life is an adventure, although there is no map. Seek the treasure and believe in the compass of your heart. There is something more important than gems or gold. Life is an adventure, although there is no map. Seek the treasure and believe in the compass of your heart. The most valuable thing is a gift from the heart. Life is an adventure, although there is no map. Seek the treasure and believe in the compass of your heart.
***** These are amazing. I was seriously wondering about the official English lyrics that were supposedly written along with the song. Now, if only there were some sort of actual official English sung version.
The team that designed and planned the attraction was primarily American - the same people who *would* make it in America... except that they just don't have the money for something of this caliber here. The Oriental Land Company, which operates all the Asian Disney Parks, is filthy stinkin' rich, and this is the result of what happens when you give Imagineers a near-unlimited budget.
The Disney Corp has mass amounts of money here in the states. Certainly enough to make a decent ride like this. But they refuse to make room in the budget.
ratuse have you seen shanghai Disneyland? disney is putting all they have into theme parks. i used to think the same thing until i realized they have to fund the update of 11 (plus one soon) parks. The only major attention that is given goes to new parks. Which is , imo, the reason why the foreign parks are so nice. also, OLC pumps money into the foreign parks.
Why doesn't Disney do this type of attraction here in the states? Must everything they create here be based on a Disney movie or character? Most of the older, popular attractions were based on fresh new ideas and imagination!
I live in Japan so I go to Disney Sea a lot...and I can guarantee this ride is AMAZING, I have been on the Little Mermaid ride at california but that one has less animatronics that move fluid. However, this ride has TONS of Fluid animatronics...i just cant believe this was made before the LM ride...
JKalama That couldn't be any more incorrect if you tried. All OLC does is foot the bill. Every inch of every ride and land at Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea is dreamed up and created by Walt Disney Imagineering. There is also nothing in the contract saying WDI can't bring rides to the domestic parks from TDL, the only issue is the unwillingness on the part of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts to pay for such lavish experiences.
Mixed feelings on this one. I like how happy and family friendly this version is, but I do honestly prefer the original. I say this because Tokyo Disneyland has Small World, which this version feels like. The original version was darker and really well done to the point of being almost exactly like the stories. This version.... there's nothing too special about it
Through out the whole ride it kept me wondering "Is this animatronics, or are there hundreds of japanese working as puppeteers. My god Japan, your robotics are far beyond the rest of us. Amazing!
This is amazing! Wow, how and why have I been avoiding to watch this? It's so enchanting, amazing, and gosh darn it I'm a fool for these kinds of music and tales!
Simple, Since Disney Technically does not own any parks outside of the states, they can do attractions that fit there style, compare to the states, we have to follow strict guidelines that the company sets thanks to the imagineers
I went on this ride in lieu of the Raging Spirits rollercoaster. You have not truly lived until you have seen creepily realistic animatronic Arabian puppets sing in Japanese.
Lift your sails to the heavens, steer straight towards the horizon. A bright, shining dream - a treasure waits for you. Rough waves may toss your ship, storms may rage in your path. If you proceed without fear, friends will give you a hand. As the winds propel you on your journey, steer with anticipation and hope. that is not true. It's not imagineers that keep rides like this from coming into the states, it's the Disney's corporate arms that don't want to pay for them. I'm sure the imagineers would love to do Disney-sea scale stuff in the US if Disney would build it, but the Oriental Land Company is willing to pay more than Disney is.
Dang. This is the best Disney movie Disney never made! I'd love to see this transplanted to WDW. Just look how beautifully those animatronics move! I'd also love to see some of our Fantasyland dark rides (like Peter Pan) updated with these kinds of animatronics. (Any chance of adding subtitles?)
Still impressive technology, but this didn't have to be changed. Jeez, Disney, this is a knew low for a park that has barely any flaws whatsoever. I about shit a brick when I saw that the giant was playing and singing with him. And his men are the bad guys? WTF??!!
@unrooolie the tiger is named Chandu! they have lots of cute toys of him for sale at Tokyo Disney Sea. This video is great! I just went to Disney Sea for the first time this week, and I rode SSV twice! Feels like I am reliving it with this video. :3
a few things 1. those animatronics are amazing, they move so quickly and so fluidly, i am terrified of wdw animatronics, but these are wonderful, except for that big ass scary green genie..jeebus.. 2. how EXPANSIVE is this ride?? the show building must be HUGE!! 3. the damn song is stuck in my head...
Jennifer Connolly Actually even the new version is not very popular. It's usually a 5 minute wait. But it's my favorite ride in the park so I am not complaining. XD
I was in Disneysea in Monday and the wait time was about 5 minutes. I personally found the ride very boring. But it's a great ride for kids and if you just want to relax for a while.
Nah, more like a combination of Pirates of the Caribbean and Small World, but with Sinbad and instead of an annoying as hell song (Small World) it has a song that touches your inside.
Lift your sails to the heavens, steer straight towards the horizon. A bright, shining dream - a treasure waits for you. Rough waves may toss your ship, storms may rage in your path. @ReesiePuffs64 No the genie is now not bad but the men in black are trying to steal his gold. They redid this ride because Japanese people didnt like the old version. Although the old one was exciting, the new one is cute and very catchy music
The animation/movement of these characters is outstanding...a shame they just kind of stand in one place and repeat the same sing songy stanzas over and over, and don't DO much of anything, LOL...still, very interesting to see this attraction, thanks for the post!

***** These are amazing. I was seriously wondering about the official English lyrics that were supposedly written along with the song. Now, if only there were some sort of actual official English sung version.
Cooltomorrowkid Alan Menken actually sang part of this song in english at D23.
This ride should win an award! The music and craftsmanship alone out does anything we have in the States! This is like watching BROADWAY!
When I was at DisneySea last year, I must of gone on this ride at least a half dozen times. It is one of my favorites of any Disney parks.
They don't even put a third of this kind of effort into the attractions at the American parks any more. Its infuriating.
The team that designed and planned the attraction was primarily American - the same people who *would* make it in America... except that they just don't have the money for something of this caliber here. Quite a few of these animatronics have lots of animation that is very fluent and not jittery. This is amazing!
JKalama That couldn't be any more incorrect if you tried. All OLC does is foot the bill. I went on this ride, it gave me the chills it was so amazing
At least Japan has a ride song that will never leave you brain after you are long gone from that ride.
Can you just imagine a Small World with animatronics like THESE?@_@
yess!!!
yea tell me about it, we are way behind on the technology when its comes down to Animatronics, yet here in the states we came up with it first.
that giant has quite a bass voice
the song is actually nice :D
This attraction is brilliant and deserves much more credit and attention! Fantastic video!

wow,Disney has come a LONG way with it's animatronics, they're so quick and fluid! I felt like I was watching a real life Rankin/Bass special
Is this attraction unique to Tokyo Disneysea?
I love it since my childhood and thought this attraction is popular among all disney around the world.
they have a pirates of the caribbean at tokyo disneyland actually. this is at tokyo disney sea
Best part of the ride: the epic soundtrack AND the super-cute tiger cub.
I was nearly screaming "I WANT ONE!"
Tokyo Disney has the best animatronics it looks like, Disney has what, a Yeti that is broken becase it will bring an etire mountain down.
Sinbad's best friend was the prince of his own kingdom, right?
It produced by Alan Menken of Aladdin
Thanks rob, for giving us both versions to enjoy. Although I think the first is way better, but I can see how kids would think it was scary for sure.
Simple, Since Disney Technically does not own any parks outside of the states, they can do attractions that fit there style, compare to the states, we have to follow strict guidelines that the company sets thanks to the imagineers
This sounds like an Alan Menken song. Anyone know who wrote the music and lyrics?
Gregory McCarthy as you think, this song was composed by Alan Mencken
さと さと thank you so much... I knew it!
I went on this ride in lieu of the Raging Spirits rollercoaster. You have not truly lived until you have seen creepily realistic animatronic Arabian puppets sing in Japanese.
can someone please give me an English translation on the song that Sinbad sung.
Lift your sails to the heavens, steer straight towards the horizon.

I like the old version better. I mean, it was actually true to the source material and all..
What an amazing way to celebrate such a great mythological character as Sinbad.
that is not true. It's not imagineers that keep rides like this from coming into the states, it's the Disney's corporate arms that don't want to pay for them. I'm sorry, was there a Disney movie about sinbad the sailor that I've never heard of?
I have no idea what they're saying in this song. But that doesn't stop me from singing along!
i love how they say Sinbad in japanese!!
In converting this ride into a "sing along", they really cut the balls off of it.
That's because the Oriental Land Company doesn't fool around. The American Disney Parks could learn a lot from them.
Loved it
Love it! And because it isn't based on one of their films and I don't know the stories it is a surprise around every corner!! :)
シンドバッドはシーだけは絶対消えて欲しく無い
This song gets stuck in my head :D, it's awesome xD
This is like the full Arabian version of It's a Small World, THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!!!
This is the most amazing ride ever. I spent a solid hour just reriding it.
did you see the original ride
My favorite ride at Tokyo Disney Sea. Simply a must to experience if you are there.
For such a simple ride, the animatronics are amazingly fluid.
Why can't they have this ride in disney world? No all we get is its a small world!
the green guy with the earrings and the nose ring... is he a giant or an ogre?
Still impressive technology, but this didn't have to be changed. Jeez, Disney, this is a knew low for a park that has barely any flaws whatsoever. I about shit a brick when I saw that the giant was playing and singing with him. And his men are the bad guys? WTF??!!
This ride is really It would be a good song!
@unrooolie the tiger is named Chandu! they have lots of cute toys of him for sale at Tokyo Disney Sea.
This video is great! I just went to Disney Sea for the first time this week, and I rode SSV twice! Feels like I am reliving it with this video. :3
I'm so confused, is the dude with the wicked cute tiger cub Sinbad or no please reply
a few things
1. those animatronics are amazing, they move so quickly and so fluidly, i am terrified of wdw animatronics, but these are wonderful, except for that big ass scary green genie..jeebus..
2. how EXPANSIVE is this ride?? the show building must be HUGE!!
3. the damn song is stuck in my head...
I have an idea... PRAISE BOTH! I LOVE ANIMATRONICS and the soundtrack TOO!
those animatronics are amazing!
I don't mean for it to be an insult to the ride, but the belly dancers seem Superstar Limo-y.
Holy Crap that genie thing is scary!
We call him Sindbad same as English.
I herd the only reason they changed it was because it was lacking people. Like no one ever went. So this was a reason they refurbished it.
Jennifer Connolly Actually even the new version is not very popular. It's usually a 5 minute wait. But it's my favorite ride in the park so I am not complaining. XD
+Xiao Bao me too. the music is very moving
tiehut Yes exactly! This music is amazing.
I was in Disneysea in Monday and the wait time was about 5 minutes. I personally found the ride very boring. But it's a great ride for kids and if you just want to relax for a while.
No Rob said it was a ride that people hated cause there were mokeys thrwoing rocks, wasnt sutible for children and more
@JKalama25799752 Walt Disney Imagineering also created and designed the ride
Old version: the goblin ambushes the old mine.
New version: it doesn't ambush.
Nah, more like a combination of Pirates of the Caribbean and Small World, but with Sinbad and instead of an annoying as hell song (Small World) it has a song that touches your inside.
The best ride ever!!
0:41 i love tigers and that one is soooooooooo cute :3
Tis attraction could fit into Morocco Paviliion at Epcot
Awesome ride. The Sinbad animatronic looks a little odd though.
Baghdad before IED's.
all u hu
akbar
Can anyone translate the song into English please?

@ReesiePuffs64 No the genie is now not bad but the men in black are trying to steal his gold. They redid this ride because Japanese people didnt like the old version. Although the old one was exciting, the new one is cute and very catchy music
@Malco2245 is the original still around and where is it located.
This ride looks like a cross between Its A Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean
um...genie was impressive yes, but holy sh*t wtf scary...I whimpered in fright...seriously...i no like the scawy genie
i loved this ride so much! i even have a chandu plush! i would appreciate very much if someone translated the lyrics into english onegaishimasu!
@thersjoel yeah, I was really suprised actually! I thought it would just be like It's a Small World, but no. Especially love the belly dancer!
This ride SUCK!!!! Beat part when it was done! Don't waste your time on it. This is the most terrible ride I have ever riding on. Complete crap!
the old one was ALOT better this one is crap
The animation/movement of these characters is outstanding...a shame they just kind of stand in one place and repeat the same sing songy stanzas over and over, and don't DO much of anything, LOL...still, very interesting to see this attraction, thanks for the post!
