For those who never rode on the dunes or on sand, it’s almost like riding on water on a skidoo (or a boat) while it’s bogging out when you give it gas. When you start to move & try to turn, your bike will still go straight. And because you’re so used to leaning while turning on your bike, you’ll struggle trying to keep it up, but end up falling on your side like Jay did. It’s a huge learning curve from riding on a paved road vs riding on the dunes like Jay have said. You just have to train your mind that your front wheel is like a rudder on a boat & speed & gassing it is your friend when turning. It was fun when i rode on the sand at glamis for the first time in the early 2000’s. I didn’t fly like Jay did, but the struggles trying not to fall was very taxing. Great stuff Jay! Perhaps Moto is your calling. Continue what you’re doing & you’ll be doing the contest with Tom in the X Games.
Don't you dare mess up your uploading schedule, I've already included it in my Sunday routine. Just kidding, thanks for the amazing content over the years!
In the world of MX, It's a marathon which means self preservation is key. Live to ride another day my dude. Solid content, it looked like you were riding in sand dune heaven with those clouds and beautiful skyline.
Crazy how much steeper that entry into the jump looked from the other perspective! Looked like so much fun though, i'd love to get a lil dirt bike one day
You shoulda gone up to Pismo on your Cali trip. Only a couple hours North from your Thousand Oaks stop. Beach, dunes, sand drags.....I truly miss living in California.
I got the same bike and was at silver lake sand dunes in Michigan back in june. Sand dunes are challenging for sure. The turning while giving it more gas was the hardest part 😂 also sand is more abrasive on the sprocket and chain wears on the bike faster.
I lived 15 minutes from here for a summer way back when. It was very difficult to find normal dirt to ride. Any dirt was being farmed and or no access 😁 I've always been a bad dune rider
Pretty sure me my dad and my brother passed you guys while you were sitting on the ledge at the first jump I was on a 2024 kx450 my dad was in a silver x3 and my brother was on a red blaster!
I'd only want the Stark Varg if I was out there riding.... One gear w/ 80hp is perfect for the dunes but I guess if you only have the Yellow Machine then you have to do what you can w/ what you have. 😂
Sand isn't easy. But when it's this type of deep sand. Like actual sand riding like this as long as you are leaning back/sitting far back on the seat and staying on the throttle it's alot of fun. If you ever go ride any sand dunes I'd lower the forks in the clamps down flush to raise the front end and just don't put any weight on the front. Have fun!

yeah, when you realize that with more speed comes more control then it's all right! Very difficult to ride slowly in the sand like at 40kmph / 25mph.

I shall continue the Sunday (I mean daily) tradition for you, Mr. Duck 🫡
Dude I love your personality!! You seem like such an awesome person!
I know the struggle, Jay. Dunes are hard. You did fine, especially your first time out.
Thanks Tony :) Next time will be better 💪
Awesome content as always Jay!
Thanks Erik 😄

What a pleasure to watch you ride in the sand dunes Jay, Now I know what to do the next time I'm in Idaho.
10:45 is the perfect representation of how those boys love their sky miles.
They're all so comfortable out there. Sick to watch
@@jaydaltondefinitely sick to watch them fly. those sky miles are definitely being collected.
crazy to see tom out there seems to always be a fmx rider bombing around the dunes! 🤘
Killed it for your first time dude 👊🤘
So sick. Good times!
Literally went to Glamis for the first time. Thank goodness I’m not the only one who thinks dunes are hard. Extremely fun can’t wait to go back.
Man I love your videos!!!
It looked the movie lost boys but in the sand.
new gear! looks great but i loved the old one, love the videos 🤙
Ahh it looks so fun, sadly we dont have such dunes from where I come from. All we have is sand roads in woods and some old sand quarry
That looks so sick ! that rmz rippin

That place looks awesome! Very rugged and desolate but cool af!
Bro those jumps are insane. Ole zuki sounds strong too

I'm bringing my RMZ450 to St. Anthony for the first time in a couple weeks! Can't wait to fall over and stall constantly haha.
Super cool Jay
🤘🚲💨
This looked awesome, Mad Max in real life!
Hi Jay glad to see you are doing well
man, i've always wanted to make a trip down to do some dune riding, it looks like a blast.
Come to Pismo Beach CA! The Oceano Dunes are sick here
hell yeah
That's crazy!! I can't imagine riding on those dunes. Great video!!

You HAVE to go to Glamis bro. It’s one of the best places to ride on planet earth.
Great job not dying Jay!

That was 🔥
What GoPro mount do you have
I feel like that’s where we get in trouble - More experienced riders telling you to give it more. Just do you and enjoy mannn
Dang! I wish I knew you where in my neck of the woods I woulda came out to make you look like a hero compared to myself 🤣
DIRT BIKES!!!!
!!!!!!!
The sand is a lot easier with a proper paddle tire. Makes a HUGE difference.
Sit basically on the fender, hold it wide open, clutch shift without letting off, and just lean side to side, you’ll make all your turns 🙏
You did good jay. New playground new rules
cherry poppins! woooooooooooooooooo BRRrRRRRrRRRRRRR puttin suzuki back on top one kick at a time
Man I’ve got a paddle tire for ya.. makes a huge difference.
Was able to snag an MX14 for next week's video. Definitely made things way easier haha
@@jaydalton I’m running The same tire on my rm-z
Tip for next time you go out. Get a paddle tire you’ll have more traction to clear those jumps
Thank you :) Someone gave me a used MX14 for my next session and things went wayyy better (ruclips.net/video/VBmUrK7BcK8/видео.html)
Thanks Jay!
Peace
Were the flags not mandatory according to the rules board you stood by in the intro? :P
Flags make an appearance in the next one 😂

that shit is sketchy AF lol
It takes one or two trips to the dunes to feel 100% comfy
lunch and new jay video round 2

Tom tested it out and it rippeddddd. Almost landed completely flat on that first jump we were sessioning. He has some clips on his Instagram
Y u no paddle tire? That suz was choking lol
Wasn't expecting to be here. Got my hands on a scoop for next week's video :)
@@jaydalton Can’t wait. Idk how you transition from bmx bikes to a mtb to dirtbike and shred them all. 👌🏻
Should stop in Boise and ride the Rhodes skate park it was a tony hawk investment park it’s rad
Might swing by next time around
Floating
Do not shun the banana😂 its all about technique and carrying speed in the dunes on a dirtbike
What the heck with the wind and hail in the dunes
Please tell me ur going it would be fun to meet u
I would've made it 1 minute into that ride😂
Were going in September 😅❤
Locals have dominated this place for decades 🏆 my buddy went off a cliff and broke his back. It was a helicopter ride out of there.
You have to be lighter on your bike in the dunes. It has a learning curve for sure.
I would be intimidated as heck riding those dunes.

I would toss on my 125 on that first jump 5th wide
Come to Pismo dunes and jump some real stuff next to the Pacific. Answer we have trails. Hit me up
Idk if u deserve a like after that electric stark varg vid
Pity about the hail but looks like a fun day out Jay.
NO PADDLE?!?!?!?!
It was a spur of the moment adventure, haha. Scoop makes an appearance in this Sunday's video ;)
🍌🍌🍌🍌GANG🫡🫡🔥
How do you not have to rebuild your Suzuki every 3 hours
I would have to if I rode the dunes any more, hahaha
241st like what’s uuuuup ladies
Sand eats all your ponies so going straight up to 4th is making her work way to hard. Ring every gear out
Put a pipe on the banana bike
Banana bike pipe is a little out of the budget right now
