  • Several homes at Lough Funshinagh (County Roscommon, Ireland) have been evacuated due to rising floodwaters. The Lough was once known as a Turlough and the water would at times almost vanish through (i believe) underground Karst topography. This drainage system is currently no longer operational (either through blockage of back pressure.)
    This video compares images taken 2 weeks apart, and finishes with an overview of the east side of the Lough. Feel free to pause the video to better analyse the images.
    In previous years the government have been hesitant to act on this situation, a decision that is proving more costly in the long run it would seem.
