I've often wondered if it would be easier and faster to somehow hoist up the carpets/rugs and somehow have them hanging, and rinse them well on both sides until all the dirt & mud was out, then wash them on the floor. Plus, have the floor at a lower angle to where the soap/water would run down hill better and faster instead of flowing back up into the carpet. Just an old ladies' opinion & observation. 😬
