Have seen the new 2020 RT Limited at our yearly motorcycle show, one new feature l like is that you just have to flip up the front seat, to refuel. The seats are divided.Your pillion does not have to get off the bike.Have seen other vloggers show this on RUclips, perhaps on a upcoming vlog, you can show this feature for your viewers. I ride a victory vision but is getting to difficult to push it back,so the wife and I ordered a 2020 RTL red dark edition. we will not get it till probably the end of march still got a foot of snow. I love your remarks and if you like it I am sure we will love it. Keep up the great reviews.
When u were in the twisties, it hit me and then I knew you were taking her home. I've caught on to your sneaky ways when u get a demo or new ride. Lol. I do like that petrol metallic, but this is a very close second, plus I like the blacked out trim especially around the dash. No glare in your face. I have a 2015 F3S. I love it ever sense I took it for a test ride. I was never a fan of the RT until now. After seeing the videos you have made on the new RT I am seriously thinking of selling or trading my F3S and getting the new RT in that gorgeous Petrol Blue. BRP does it again. They are going to need extra shifts and they still will not be able to build them fast enough. Wow! What a gorgeous amazing machine. Incredible. You made another amazing video. BRP needs to give you a huge paycheck. Your videos sell more Spyder than all of BRP's combined advertisements.
The blue was a pretty color but the chalk is a keeper. Whites, reds and blacks you never get tired of unlike other colors. Hopefully we’ll have some here soon.
I ride the goldwing 1800 series. Mine is a 2007 which is in mint condition! I'm 6'4" so I had to take the seat to the upholstery shop and have them add three inches in height. And cut up to 4 inches back to be able to fit on it which leaves next to no room for the wife! I was looking at the new Goldwing and found my knees hit the fairing and felt uncomfortable. My wife was disappointed with the back seat comfort! And then we stopped at a boat dealership to get my boat serviced and they sold the Can Am spyder! My wife and I noticed how long the seat was! We fell in love with it! I was looking at the limited RT. I hated that my wife could not go with me on my bike! So to all those couples out there that are taller than the average person! This is for you! It will be a year before I get mine. Looking forward to riding as a couple and not by myself!
Thanks for the video. I went from a 2013 RT limited to a 2018 F3 limited because of knee pain. But I really miss my RT. How is the wind protection compared to a F3? How do the new style floor boards feel? My RT was great on mountain roads... F3 feels like it is more work for me on corners?
The wind protection is considerably better on the new RT over the F3-LTD... The new floor boards are phenomenal, tons of room, and make mounting & dismounting the Spyder a breeze. If you like carving mountain roads, you’re really going to love the new RT! Take one for a ride, you’ll be hooked..! Lol Thanks Paula!!
Great video. How do the Spyders perform at highway /freeway speeds & passing? Speed limit is 75 & 80 mph here. Just need to be able to comfortably pass semi trucks. Serius/ XM radio?
You must be new to 1330 ACE powered Spyder’s... Lol. Highway speeds and passing is never a thought, these babies roll! No SeriusXM, but if you need to not focus on and enjoy the amazing ride, you can always push it through your phone app or an available (from SeriusXM) dongle attached to the AUX port... a few years ago in the spring I was on my two wheeler heading up over green mountain just like you went on old hiway 99 and just up hill from that straight away next to i5 in those curves I came across two or three gravel patches where the road slipped ---exiting!

Great video! How smooth is the ride? Do you feel every bump, pothole and crack in the road? (Pennsylvania roads are terrible) I ride a Triumph Bonneville and after about 2 hours in the saddle I’m ready to park it! I love the Spyder lineup and was considering one. Are they “accepted “ in your motorcycle community? I live in Harley country, not a damn thing wrong with them , it’s just not my thing, that’s why I got a a Triumph, to be different.
Great video as always! Could you explain how the demo process works? Seems like a great job benefit for sure, but, what is the advantage to the dealer to have such an expensive bike unavailable for sale? Just curious.
The bike has to be registered through BRP as a demo, and with that, it has to meet demo status rules set by BRP such as miles, exposure, etc... Because it will have miles on the unit, BRP allows us to discount the price and the unit leaves with a new warranty that starts the day of new owner purchase. The bike can be sold at any time, but if the demo criteria isn't met, there is no discount, but the warranty still starts at the time of purchase. The advantage to BRP and the dealer is vehicle exposure... Thanks Jay!!
Very good video I was very impressed with you going through the curves I'm in the market wanted the Honda trike very expensive was looking at the harley triglide very expensive and not up to date so I have to take another look at the can am Rt limited

I think the Triglide is beautiful but I think I'd enjoy the RT more (plus about $ 9I less). Thank you very much for all the info you provide on all the bikes.
+Jim Haskell My understanding from Shawns' video's is Procaliber do the alignment as a 'customer service' to their customers. My advice would be to check with your dealer if they do it as part of the PDI inspection and if not try to negotiate it into the purchase price. That Petrol Metallic (Teal Blue) one was way out of alignment for a new bike. Check out this video, Shawn removes both hands from the handlebars on more than one occasion, the steering runs 'dead true' with no hands on the 'bars.
Laser aligning is a service we've provided on new Spyders since early 2013. It is not a required setup & PDI service by BRP, so it's up to your dealer to perform the laser alignment... I can tell you that since 2017, they've been really close out of the box. Thanks Jim!!

Hey Smoke, can’t wait until these hit the UK in March time. I’ve never ridden an RT but so looking forward to do a test ride, when they hit the show rooms. Is it very different from the previous model or will I still get the feeling if I take out last years model for a spin.
I’ve liked the look of these since I became an amputee nearly 10 yrs ago, but was never fully convinced. But I really love the look of these new RTs and cannot wait.

Boy, I thought I was excited about the 2020 RTL. You put me to shame. But very glad to hear that. I was wondering about the RTL's alignment. Did you do the other four? Our dealer here does not have a Laser Alignment. Should I let them adjust it if it needs it? I am going to have them check it. I'd like to tell them what you found. My 2014 RTL was never checked and it drove like a dream until I sold it at 10K miles. When I see that white one, I see a project for WrapMySpYder.com.
If they don't have the laser alignment tool, they can't check the alignment..! I doubt the old frame alignment bar procedure of yesteryear would even work on the 2020 RT. Plus, you'd have a greater chance of throwing it off using that procedure..! Laser alignments are not a part of the setup/PDI procedure from BRP, it's a free service that we provide to our new bike customers that's performed before the Spyder goes up for sale. You were either the luckiest MY2014 Spyder owner ever, or you simply didn't notice the alignment was off, as they all were off by a bit back then... From 2017 up, with few exceptions, the amount they're off would most likely not be noticeable to most. The Petrol Metallic LTD from yesterday was not noticeable during my quick test ride, but as you seen, it was in fact off. We want to know every new Spyder is perfect before it leaves. That's a peace of mind worth absorbing the cost of laser alignments. Haven't had a new owner alignment complaint or issue since 2013... Would be a shame to cover the beautiful off-white metallic paint on this "Chalk" RT... But that's my opinion. Thanks Jack!!

I would love to know if I was 'lucky' or they did it right at the factory. You are right about not covering up that White, but I always need to make my bikes 'my own'. I have a feeling with the Blue (Teal?) and chrome, I'll need some way to pick it out of a crowd, LOL. I hope not to go too crazy like I did on the 2014. Ride safe, -JackinSpokane

The petrol is a good color, but with the chalk white, makes it a Storm Trooper Spyder

Great video! How smooth is the ride? Do you feel every bump, pothole and crack in the road? (Pennsylvania roads are terrible) I ride a Triumph Bonneville and after about 2 hours in the saddle I’m ready to park it! I love the Spyder lineup and was considering one. Are they “accepted “ in your motorcycle community? I live in Harley country, not a damn thing wrong with them , it’s just not my thing, that’s why I got a a Triumph, to be different.

Great video as always! Could you explain how the demo process works? Seems like a great job benefit for sure, but, what is the advantage to the dealer to have such an expensive bike unavailable for sale? Just curious.
The bike has to be registered through BRP as a demo, and with that, it has to meet demo status rules set by BRP such as miles, exposure, etc... Because it will have miles on the unit, BRP allows us to discount the price and the unit leaves with a new warranty that starts the day of new owner purchase. The bike can be sold at any time, but if the demo criteria isn't met, there is no discount, but the warranty still starts at the time of purchase.
The advantage to BRP and the dealer is vehicle exposure...

Shawn I am going to my local dealer to purchase my question is should they and will they re-align the front end before delivering it
+Jim Haskell My understanding from Shawns' video's is Procaliber do the alignment as a 'customer service' to their customers. My advice would be to check with your dealer if they do it as part of the PDI inspection and if not try to negotiate it into the purchase price. That Petrol Metallic (Teal Blue) one was way out of alignment for a new bike. Check out this video, Shawn removes both hands from the handlebars on more than one occasion, the steering runs 'dead true' with no hands on the 'bars.
Laser aligning is a service we've provided on new Spyders since early 2013. It is not a required setup & PDI service by BRP, so it's up to your dealer to perform the laser alignment... I can tell you that since 2017, they've been really close out of the box.

Shawn, on the GPS map, try zooming in. That should bring up those roads you're missing. Garmin has a similar issue.

Hey Smoke, can’t wait until these hit the UK in March time. I’ve never ridden an RT but so looking forward to do a test ride, when they hit the show rooms. Is it very different from the previous model or will I still get the feeling if I take out last years model for a spin.
From Shawn's video, I'd say wait to ride the new version, seems like quite an upgrade. Just my opinion. YMMV
It still has the Spyder nuances of past 1330 ACE RT's, just highly, highly refined..! A noticeable upgrade for sure!

Boy, I thought I was excited about the 2020 RTL. You put me to shame. But very glad to hear that. I was wondering about the RTL's alignment. Did you do the other four? Our dealer here does not have a Laser Alignment. Should I let them adjust it if it needs it? I am going to have them check it. I'd like to tell them what you found. My 2014 RTL was never checked and it drove like a dream until I sold it at 10K miles. When I see that white one, I see a project for WrapMySpYder.com.
If they don't have the laser alignment tool, they can't check the alignment..! I doubt the old frame alignment bar procedure of yesteryear would even work on the 2020 RT. Plus, you'd have a greater chance of throwing it off using that procedure..! Laser alignments are not a part of the setup/PDI procedure from BRP, it's a free service that we provide to our new bike customers that's performed before the Spyder goes up for sale.
You were either the luckiest MY2014 Spyder owner ever, or you simply didn't notice the alignment was off, as they all were off by a bit back then... From 2017 up, with few exceptions, the amount they're off would most likely not be noticeable to most. The Petrol Metallic LTD from yesterday was not noticeable during my quick test ride, but as you seen, it was in fact off. We want to know every new Spyder is perfect before it leaves. That's a peace of mind worth absorbing the cost of laser alignments. Haven't had a new owner alignment complaint or issue since 2013...
Would be a shame to cover the beautiful off-white metallic paint on this "Chalk" RT... But that's my opinion.

I would love to know if I was 'lucky' or they did it right at the factory. You are right about not covering up that White, but I always need to make my bikes 'my own'. I have a feeling with the Blue (Teal?) and chrome, I'll need some way to pick it out of a crowd, LOL. I hope not to go too crazy like I did on the 2014. Ride safe, -JackinSpokane
