You're not called to forget only to forgive. Blocking out painful memories is a bad path that can lead you to do other things to keep blocking it out like using alcohol and drugs excetera. Just because you forgive someone doesn't mean it stops hurting or that you should ever trust that person that hurt you again.
Jesus Christ is God and Creator: "All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made." [Jn.1:3] "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth," [Col.1:16a] ". . .whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;" (Heb.1:2b]
The parable of the man who owed the king is a way Jesus gave us the spoiler for new testament forgiveness. He was pardoned by the king first and by that he should have forgiven the little man who owed him so little.
If I had to go before Judgement today. That's not something that'll keep me out of Heaven. If I ever see my last Boss in going to Apologize to him I hold Nothing in my Heart for him. God is dealing with me I hope he's able to forgive. It wasn't worth it and I Thank God for him doing what he did. I find No fault.

For me, i live in a non christian home, and people in my life are notorious sinners, responding to their flesh all day long. Joseph probably lives in a nice Christian home, with nice christian wife and kids where he isnt tempted to sin, be offended, get angry. It is so easy for him to say that grace will take care of everything. But for me i live with messy dysfunctional broken hurt crazy tempered people. And i need God to help me live with them, i need to be corrected and not just hear grace will abound when i am bitter, angry, hateful towards the wrong that people do. Yes, it does abound and he forgives me, but nevertheless, God gives us plenty of correction. Bcuz he corrects those He loves!!!!
i followed Joseph for 5 years, and i am still in bondage to character flaws, what he is teaching sad to say is, sin more that grace will abound.... i am not against him, but i want to expose the error in his teachings.because Jesus didnt just come with grace but He also came with truth.John 1:17 says "with Moses came the law, but with Jesus came grace and truth." Jesus also came with TRUTH!
the bible says "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling," when we try to work on our character God partners with us and helps us by His spirit. it isnt just accept salvation by grace and do nothing. God wants to work with us to change us. I need to be changed, and not just hear that i am forgiven and when i sin grace will keep forgiving me. this idea is a license to sin because i applied his teaching for years and years and it made me think it was ok to just react however when i was wronged by others, because God will forgive me, and it did lead to bondage for me. God wants me to be free from character flaws, and he doesnt want me to sin that grace may abound. God gives us grace, but God also gives us corrections, and when he corrects us he empowers us to follow Him, its not by our self effort, it is God working in us, through our obedience to His words.
Hi How Can, here is an excerpt from Joseph Princes' sermon, "Joseph Prince - Receive All That God Is Supplying You Today." You can find that sermon on RUclips. JP: "Now, we go to the next one, next thing that God is doing for you. Philippians 2, "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed," Paul is writing to the Philippians and he says, "As you have always obeyed". He says something very profound here, "Not as in my presence only, but much more in my absence". This is what every parent want. So Paul says, "Hey, you guys obey better when I'm not around". And then he says this, "But now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." JP: "Doesn't say work for salvation, it says work out for it is God who works in. Work out what God has worked in, amen? Today, God worked in me already the message, now I am working out my salvation. The message is also in the category. Salvation's a very big word, don't forget. Salvation is coming out of me for all of you to rescue, to save, to heal, to deliver, amen? But you see the thing is that it's not work for, it's work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. And you all know fear and trembling, right? We covered that last week. Fear and trembling is Hebrewism. It's an expression of something, something good that you are in awe of." JP
Dear brother in Christ, the following excerpt is taken from the web page on Biblical Hermeneutics ("the branch of knowledge that deals with interpretation, especially of the Bible or literary texts"). "I learned from another question that Paul uses the same Greek words for fear and trembling (phobos and tromos) in Philippians 2:12 as found in the Septuagint in Psalms 2:11 and 55:5, and it is very likely he was referencing this when he wrote Philippians. Similarly (though not the same exact Greek phrase), in Mark 5:33, the woman healed of her discharge of blood "came in fear and trembling" (ESV) after Jesus perceived power had gone out from him. Others have asked what working out one's salvation means; I would like to focus on what exactly it means by these two words, fear and trembling. Paul's text about "working out your salvation with fear and trembling" in Philippians 2:13 is actually more likely about reverent, obedient awe rather than being terrified of judgment. I conclude this for three reasons: Paul uses phobos kai tromos (fear and trembling) elsewhere to mean "reverent obedience": Look at 2 Corinthians 7:15 where Paul describes how impressed Titus was when he visited the Corinthians: “And his affection for you is all the greater when he remembers that you were all obedient, receiving him with phobos kai tromos.” Here, the phrase definitely means obedient reverence. In Ephesians 6:5 Paul says: "Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with phobos kai tromos, in the sincerity of heart, as to Christ." This phrase could be about being terrified, but that doesn't really make sense in the context. It really seems to be more likely about great respect. The phrase "fear and trembling" has a wider connotation than just "terror," because word "fear" in Hebrew was also the word for "awe" or "reverence." "Fear" could also denote the physical act of worship, hence the fact that the "God-fearers" in the NT were those who worshipped God. "Fear and trembling" is likely a hendiadys, an idiom in which a verb is intensified by being linked by "and" to a synonym. We have them in English too. If you're "sick and tired," this doesn't mean you're sick and you're tired, it just means that you're very tired. Similarly, "fear and trembling" seems to mean "great reverence" as Paul is using it in the passages noted above. Coming back to Philippians 2, the passage starts out by Paul praising the congregation for how obedient they were in his presence. Now, Paul is exhorting the Philippians to do even more in his absence, because God is doing a "good work in you." Reading phobos kai tromos as about reverent awe fits better here than as being in terror of hell, which is not on Paul's mind otherwise in this very positive context. Of course, reading this Philippians 2 this way doesn't negate other places in the NT which talk about fearing God's judgment. It's just not what Paul is talking about here."
