the carpet trick for the doors won’t stop the villager from pathfinding out, so if you don’t want the villager constantly standing by the door I would recommend putting a berry bush under the carpet, that should stop them from pathfinding.
@@etsmine3004 The "deep hole" trick is not very reliable anymore. I wish people would stop suggesting it. Berry bushes are much more efficient, as they also keep (baby) zombies out.
I can't believe Beef is playing on the same server with Etho, and didn't have him come over for a mini cameo when talking about ladders. I expected a two second cut of Etho saying "Ayyy, I go up and I go down!"

@@Joker-fj8hg the lines "a certain Tek-nical player" and "without making you dance the Tango for it" should give you a clue who they're talking about lol
The barn looks nice and all, but generally speaking, you'd probably want something like that at the *top* of a hill, not at the bottom. Any rain water would go flooding directly into that stable area and could pose a nightmare for keeping horses safe.
Hi beef - if you'd like to know something about horse fields and such for help with decorating; Horse fields from my experience are usually mostly worn around the outdoor feeding/water area and exit/entry to the field. The horses will also make paths usually along the border of the enclosure/field and they'll make paths on our larger field that are "the most efficient ones" to get straight across the field from the entry, usually in a diagonal. You'll clearly see with the level of grass where horses are the least, such as just outside the edges of the fence and sometimes along their paths. We have gravel around the stable as mud/dirt would be inconvenient due to the amount of foot traffic. Hay/wood shavings in their individual stable boxes as like the soft cover for them to rest. Also an important note is that you have no real-life-logical way to get hay bales on top of the stable storage (if that's something you worry about) - a pulley made with a grindstone and things would maybe help? Alternatively making a large barn door and allowing for an imaginary traktor with imaginary pallet of hay 😅
Definitely tell Bdubs, he’ll love what you’re doing for the horses. I thought the side where you added the ladder was going to be a crane to get hay bales up, that’s how grandpa did it! But nice looking barn
That’s a lovely barn! If you’re still unsure about the wall between the compost, perhaps changing the oak planks to oak fences (and still leaving the trapdoors) might make it more airy. Thank you for a wonderful episode!
“You know what, I’m gonna drop him through the ceiling” is such a Ty Pennington vibe 😂 I felt like I was watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition for second 😂
If you felt up to the challenge, you can automate farming Crimson and Warped stem with next to no player interaction. just need to provide bonemeal somehow. dont need to place the fungi or chop the logs. best part is, if you compost the harvested Wart blocks its self sufficient
22:25 I say this in the most sarcastic way possible, but the barn is giving 2006 childhood favorite movie “Monster House” vibes and I love it! Of course, I watch every video and I love the videos you make! Been subbed since you joined HC♥️
Great episode, Beef! I really enjoyed the building in the last section of the video! I've always wanted you to show more of your building process on camera, even if it's just a timelapse. It's very relaxing and fun to see!
I think hay bales maybe with some course dirt would look great as floors in the stables. Because those floors get very worn down, plus isn’t there usually a layer of hale spread across the floor of a stall? Also, armor stand wheat?
After watching this had a pock at the Steve vs. Steve series having never seen it before. it was before my time. It was actual quite interesting and nostalgic. Thanks for mentioning it since I rarely bother digging so far back in history without recommendations.
I'm a new viewer and I really enjoy your playstyle, how you walk is through your thought process when you build the stable! And your humor, you voice, your witty comments, eveything makes me happy! Looking forward to see more of you from this season, and can't wait how you will solve your stick mission 😁
The barn is looking great! And so does the pasture ☺ There are a few places horses could escape the pasture... but I guess that's free roaming at it's finest 😅 Thanks Beef, voor another episode of HC! Welcome back 🥳
You should really snip your weeping wines in the wood shop or they will overgrow the room all the time. The design of the shop is really nice. I like it.
The final fence post detail on the gables could be oak. To continue the oak detailing theme and provide some visual distinction. Looks awesome, I’m going to use it on my farm.
I believe a common name for the barn upper floor that you made for the horses is called a "Hayloft". Which is also the name of a fire song by Mother Mother
The villager can open the door and leave it open. He could come into contact with a zombie even though the zombie can’t get in, BUT a BABY zombie can. A creeper could also wander in. The “sticky up” things in the roof are called dormers. Keralis and XB played the jump game at the basalt shop. The horse stables look really great.
I like Timelapse’s but I think l like it more when hermits build on camera and explain the thought process behind the decisions they make. Your build of the barn was very entertaining!
Hey beef just so you know I love the fact that every week we get a new song to add to my play list and to hear different music from across the seas is great hope you keep doing this 😊
very cute lil build. would be sweet in the open space to add some barrels and jumps like they have in horse shows particularly loved the campfires and the janky trapdoors for the ladder platform - very rustic x
I really love the barn but I can't unsee the windows as eyes >.> Accidental face strikes again! For the compost area you could potentially use stone bricks, and mix in chiselled stone bricks for detail instead of the trapdoors. It loses a tiny bit of depth but I think the colours will match well and stone makes more sense than wood as you pointed out.
Make sure you keep a close Eye on your shop. Docm Talked about messing with them. so you have to keep re staking it, I think 3 x 3 be a better stall for them over 2 x 3.
hey beef, from a detail standpoint a lot of irl horse pens are more heavily trodden right along the fence line going around most of the pen (they walk along the line a vast majority of the time) and they usually take one common line to get from their stalls to the fence line.
Convince Scar that the stick is magic and he'll just give you a diamond block for it
omg YES
that might just work !!
if only the stick was 12 bamboo, then I'd know a couple customers more than eager to hand over stacks of diamonds for it
the carpet trick for the doors won’t stop the villager from pathfinding out, so if you don’t want the villager constantly standing by the door I would recommend putting a berry bush under the carpet, that should stop them from pathfinding.
I thought of that too.. 😊
3 deep hole with 3 stacked carpets work too
Same goes for grains horse

Put a berry bush under the carpet by the doors, stops pathing and will also keep creepers out if the villager opens the door and leave it open.
