I would catch that Dmax up on all of the maintenance (filters, fluids) and make any repairs if needed. Keep it completely stonk and baby it. And, take the key out of it when you park it. 😊
I started a Tow truck company in 2011 and I have had every kind of Diesel truck from the big 3 and I can tell you hands down nothing even comes close to the reliability of the GM Duramax with the allison trans. The Fords were a nightmare with engine problems, one problem after another. The Dodge with the cummins the engines were okay until the bolt in the grid heater breaks and destroys the engine. The Dodge transmissions were very weak ,had replace a few and the Dodges had a bad habit of cracking flexplates especially while towing heavy loads.
I have drove menny Kodiak werckers with that combo. And I drive then hard.... they are tuff set ups, I used to think the fird 7.3 was the best.... I have blown up 3 of the 7.3...
@@Josh.Watkinsyeah when your warranty is up you do that when it's not and they void it ask me how I know that was the reason they used I couldn't have my transmission replaced when my transmission blew under warranty because I did that fix to the grid
The way your wife looks at you and especially them boys is adorable... I grew up as an orphan and she is the momma I always dreamed of... So so happy to see the success of your family
Hey Bill! Now this video is just the way I like em. All about family!!! Good to see Miss Vicky’s smiling face. Such a nice lady. You got a lot of projects going on. Can’t wait to see the Falcon run with its new combo. Thanks for the up dates look forward to all the happenings! As always stay safe!! 😀😀❤️
Great video and a hats off on the NEW ORLEANS Coverage. Tommy showed out under great pressure, Much respect to him. And to the Founder of SRC ,Billy has made a way for his family to be blessed in so many ways. You guys are living the Dream. And we love being a small part of it all. You guys could breakdown ANYWHERE . And one quick post on RUclips would instantly bring locals rushing to your aid with parts and more !!!. You are our racing Family. And we love you very much.
My buddy had two duramax's eat themselves while pulling, one was turned up the other was stock in a roll back. Sold both after 22 grand on replacement engines and went with a cummins and never looked back. On another note i spit up coke through my nose when bucko got in the supra. Great editing!
Hey Mr. Bill & Miss Vicki!! Your whole family has been so blessed!! Thank you for all you do. You've been an inspiration to me and many others who are just trying to get by in the drag racing sport. Hope to see all of you at Clay City this year!! Much love and prayers from Hazard, KY
The new shop is looking sharp. One thing at a time, I get it, but you might want to put on your wish list to install a couple those little round exhaust trap doors at the bottom of the garage doors and snake an adjustable exhaust hose from whatever vehicle you are working on through those openings to keep the fumes outta the shop.
I’m still a 5.9 Cummins guy but my buddies are 6.7 Cummins guys and one of the many tricks they use is they keep them running is they hardly ever turn the exhaust brake off. They use it 95% of the time. Keeps the veins free I guess.
Idk bout nothing else except Those Chewy Chocolate Carmel Bars Vicki sent me were absolutely 🔥. Just glad the abscess tooth that swoll my face up last week had gotten better so I could enjoy them. I Love Mrs.Vicki as she were my own Mother. I'm sure appreciative of her kindness to me and my Daughter. I will Forever be in the Corner of SRC, OMG and G2G. 😎🇺🇲🤘
Your brother is right about the cummins being easier to work on. But I'm also from Ohio and I know how hard it is to find a clean unmolested diesel truck. Personally I couldn't walk away from it because you know it's properly maintained and it's not some hillbilly race truck.
@12:35 thru 13:05,, you said it Bill. Most of we 'elders' (I was born 1947) know very well what you're saying bud. I can't even remember how many times I lay in a gravel driveway in the dead of winter, in the snow pulling a starter, a trans and on one occasion doing an junk yard engine R&R from a sweet '62 Polara (wish I still had it) so's I could get to work on Monday . Yes,, you, Miss Vicki and the kids deserve that NEW shop and all the comfort it will provide in the upcoming years. Hoskinson Family - TO THE FRONT! 🙂
Cool 😎. Just awesome having a vlog in the morning, great way to start the day ! It’s great having Tanner on the team . His skill and personality shows more and more ! 😊
I run a tree service and we've had many of the big three diesels and currently have fords 550 with dumpbox and a Chevy 6500 to pull the chipper when you're using them to tow heavy every day of their life maintenance and breakdowns are inevitable but the new Fords seem to have the most minor engine issues nothing crazy yet but Chevy has been the least expensive to run and maintain... Gave up on dodges because the cost and transmission issues and flexplate problems it had gave me more than i had time to deal with... Traded it in on the 6500 and never looked back, but it was by far the easiest to work on and problen solve on the chevy and ford are so crammed in there I'd have to think they take the cab off when they do any kind of major work are you be taking out everything just to get at minor shit half the time ... Basically what it comes down to is what you like and what you want ... They are all nice trucks and everything has its own drawback but having over a quarter million miles already I think buying that Chevy especially since you know where it came from is the smart move for yall... Where else are you going to find that nice of a Chevy where you know the history like you do on that one...
Mr Bill you will be a happy fella in that GMC with the duramax! I’ve had several of them. Yes you will have issues here and there but that’s going to be the same even in a dodge! I’m sure you don’t want to hear this but bucko is right when it comes to diesels. Maintenance is key not to mention you are a GM guy. You just would not look right riding around in a Dodge all the time lol.
I like the blue Chevy 2 , at the wax place , I had one just like it , in high school in 1984 , had center line wheels and nasty sbc 👍👍👍 hope to see ya at Gainesville , sick week , 2 days away 😬😬😬
Great video you got one hell of a fleet of cars now I think Bob’s Duramax would be a nice addition. It’s a beautiful truck. I’d love to have it just one man’s opinion. Love y’all.
I have watched you and Billy SRC since the beginning and in my opinion you absolutely deserve a new truck for yourself. And that GMC will last 10 times as long as that dodge. Keep up the great work in everything you guys do and God bless you and your family.
I work at a cdjr and there is a recall for the high pressure pump for the 6.7s and those are a ton of money. I would have to look at the bulletin but I believe they are for the 12 to 18. But I sure would keep that cummins if I was you guys. I love that 55 it's so nice and looks just like Shawn's 55
I think that recall is for 19-21 when they used CP4's, since have gone back to reliable Cp3s the earlier models had including 12-18. Dmax uses Cp4 as well, not so good.
Glad you got Billy's dodge ram back up and running though... My second gen dodge gasser is down thanks to the freaking ground squirrel chewed on the wiring harness and i have not gotten around to be able to fix it especially with this weather and it sitting out in the middle of the driveway in the wind lol
Great video Bill, can’t wait to see the dyno testing that LS I have been thinking on that for a while and for sure now will be able to make up my mind base on the results. God bless y’all 🙏🏼

So glad you guys are doing a drag and drive. A lot of fun getting to know all the other racers. Everyone helps everyone. You’ll have lots of content for sure. I will definitely be watching. Hope you guys love it.
I told you guys in an earlier comment.....scrap the dodge for parts and keep the dirty max. I faced the same decision and have not regretted the change 285k miles later
I would love to know how I was unsubbed? My guess? I do a lot of walking & getting up & down with boxes at work working for a large retail home improvement store that rhymes with Know's. I am usually the 1st one on vehicle repairs & maintenance but, not having a garage & this frigid weather in O.H. is killing me. I have to install new fuel, & return lines, front half shaft, serpentine belt tensioner, plus, I ordered all new brake components when I did my brakes last! I realized that 1 caliper is sticking, so I ordered everything new from lines to pads. I primed & painted the calipers & centers of the rotors. You are blessed do to all of your hard work & family ethic. I am stressing the freezing work I must do!
On the Cummins make sure the exhaust brake is always on either full on or automatic (both loaded or unloaded). This makes sure the vanes are used all the time and do not get build up and hang open or closed. For next time or everyone else. Geno's Garage (great place for Cummins parts not a sponsor) has a a new aftermarket actuator, stronger and no calibration needed, much cheaper than a new turbo if your is still good.
As far as pulling trucks go, I have had all three. Seemed like the ford had twice the power of the Chevy and the dodge. We tested that theory pulling a 450 dozer, not even close. I now have a dodge 2500, 22 model. Everything seems good on it but the transmission makes me a little nervous with how it acts. I would stay away from def fluid if at any way possible. That’s a bunch of garbage. Great video man, y’all rock!
Bucko adds humor to already very entertaining videos, him moving Molly's car was a hoot. Bucko is correct though about the Duramax diesel and being a lifelong Ford guy and an owner of a 2015 F250 Super Duty Diesel 4x4 I can verify that the Cummins by far is the easiest to work on. Being diesels they all cost a bit to repair because you can put higher mileage numbers on them than any gas engine. Is what it is but the Cummins is definitely easier to work on, older design and not as fuel efficient but is a good diesel. Looking forward to seeing what the nova can do with new powerplant. Is it going to be on boost or the bottle? Go fast and be safe. God bless you and your family and friends.
Had a hotshot company for several years. Cummins left me hanging multiple times. From the junk transmission that you can't bulletproof to the body control modules. Only issue I ever had out of my 5 Duramax rigs from 2014 to 2019 was with the DEF DPF. Absolute only issues. That 13 GMC has the most comfortable interior out of all of my trucks. Dodge was second. Duramax hands down in my opinion. Only thing you will hate on the GMC will be when the passenger side head light goes out. It is not a quick bulb change. However you guys could whip it out pretty quick. I suggest a FASS Fuel System, will help since you guys travel so much and you have no idea where your fuel will come from. Anyhow, my two cents. Love the channel and those classic muscle cars!
Wow that is so cool you guys have so much room for your projects There is so much going on man I don't know which way to look Keep app the good work God bless
I would much rather own a duramax. But at my job, we use only powerstrokes and they get used and abused everyday hauling heavy equipment and idling for long periods of time, all while a bunch of idiots run the crap out of them and they seem to last a good while. But If it were me, I would still get a duramax lol. Keep up the good work brother. Love your videos!
Bill, love your videos and watching your family race. I had a ‘18 Silverado 2500HD with the L5P 6.6L Duramax and I agree with most that this engine w/the Allison trans is the best except for one small design flaw (that stranded me twice). The injector connectors fail - not the injectors themselves but the electrical pigtail connector that plugs into the injector. GM simply did not use heavy enough gauge wire or failed to insulate the connector from the heat in the engine bay? If you go on the Duramax forum online you’ll see. The inj connectors retail for about $109 and some guys carry them when traveling. The cylinders on the drivers side fail first I believe due to heat from the turbo pipe(s)? Two failed on me at about 140-145,000 miles. The engine will miss and go into reduced power mode - bad deal if you’re states away from home and towing. I went back to a 2500HD 6.6L gasoline truck for this reason. I believe GM started putting the L5P Duramax in trucks starting in 2014 & still use that power plant today but I haven’t heard if they have fixed the inj connector problem or not. If I was buying another diesel truck I would still choose Duramax but depending on the mileage would spend the $1000 or so to replace ALL 8 injector connectors so I would know I have at least 150,000 miles or so of reliability. FYI there is a fellow that posts on the Duramax forum that tows an RV all over the country with an ‘18 Duramax and has over 400,000 miles on his truck - but he carries spare injectors connectors and posts videos on how to change them on the side of the road.
I’m pretty sure that vintage GMC doesn’t have that issue, just the L5P does. My son hauls RV’s and has gotten so he can replace those connectors on the road as they go bad. The CP4 injection pump is probably that gen’s main issue.
recently I saw a video cleaning culverts. When it was clear, they ran 1/4 inch cable thru it and just left it in there. When clogged, they used the cable to pull a chain thru with a dismounted tire. Drag said chain and tire thru the culvert with the skid steer, whereas it scraped out all obstructions. Might be something to try.
If it’s a work truck it’s Cummins. For us…Every brand has their issues and every brand is “expensive “ it’s a diesel so unfortunately it comes with the territory. So long as you keep up on maintenance ( which isn’t bad ) and you address the “issues/faults” of any of the brands, you’ll enjoy whatever mfg you pick for many many miles. With all that said that’s a damn good looking 3500 Bob has there✅ 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Nice new shop but there still seems to be alot of car "leapfrog" going on when needing a particular vehicle. Does Jax Wax have a product to help remove the tire rubber on the Malibu's rear quarter panels when cleaning?
I’ve never watched a video a flinched so hard that I almost drop my phone, that is until I saw that tool box rock forward on the skid loader. That’s amazing it didn’t fall forward.
I kinda like that GMC dually, and I am a 6.7 Powerstroke owner. Preventative maintenance is always needed, but constant mechanical failures are another issue.
Bill I’ve been wondering if I was missing videos or been unsubscribed. Guess not! You guys have gotten a lot done. New lifts look awesome! As far as new diesels, they all have issues. I’ve owned three in last four years. Everyone one of them comes down to fuel or exhaust issues. Good thing is Buck-O seems to know how way around them so finding whichever one is easiest to work on is probably your best bet! Buck-O is correct, maint is absolutely the key cuz they aren’t getting any cheaper. Still kicking myself for downgrading to a half ton!
To the ladies who watch the channel, I know it wasn't just me who rewinded the video ten times to see Francois?🤣🤣 I got to sweatin and had to turn the heat down and put on extra deodorant.🥵🤣🤣 That was a fine piece of God's grace right there.🤣 Thinking about moving to France. Just don't tell Eddie my Fiancee. 💃🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 As always, another awesome video in the books. Thanks for giving me some laughs this morning Mr.Bill. I seriously admire each and everyone of you. ♥️
My 2006 LBZ Duramax/Allison 6 speed transmission has 450,000 miles. Still has the original turbo. Had to change 1 cracked injector that failed under the 200,000 mile warranty. I have a leak on the drivers side rear axle that I need to fix. Bought the truck in 2008 with 15,000 miles on it and it's been a good truck. Allison transmission has had no issues.
Loved my 2006 LBZ/Allison. Towed a 35’ camper all over the USA. If you buy it, delete it. Put a secondary fuel filter system, like the FASS. I added a 90 auxiliary tank that fed into the fuel filler neck. Best mod I did. Keep the filters changed and use good ones.
The amount of work you guys do in both shops and running equipment in the shop I can't believe you don't use an exhaust system be a whole lot healthier for everyone in there.
I would catch that Dmax up on all of the maintenance (filters, fluids) and make any repairs if needed. Keep it completely stonk and baby it. And, take the key out of it when you park it. 😊
🤣🤣🤣🤣
He said take the keys out!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
My buddy's duramax did the turbo thing like the dodge BUT a sensor that changes the pitch was bad so easy fix👍

This makes absolutely zero sense…. If it’s not even close why go with anything other than ford. The math ain’t mathin here bud.
Bill the supra / South Park is hilarious!
Glad to see all again!!! Great video, keep em coming!! I'm a GM guy but those cummins trucks are hard to beat!!! Watch vicki and Francey Franco.😂😂😂
The best way to start the week just before work ....keep up the great work Bill
I have an 08 LMM duramax with 260k on it and it’s been so good to me. once they’re deleted they’re great trucks
Wow that is so cool you guys have so much room for your projects There is so much going on man I don't know which way to look Keep app the good work God bless
@27:24,, diesel exhaust in tha shop,, might want to consider getting some of that flex hose stuff to route exhaust outside?? Just a thought 🙂
Great video can't wait till all the projects get done
I would much rather own a duramax. But at my job, we use only powerstrokes and they get used and abused everyday hauling heavy equipment and idling for long periods of time, all while a bunch of idiots run the crap out of them and they seem to last a good while. But If it were me, I would still get a duramax lol. Keep up the good work brother. Love your videos!
Great videos. I can't wait to see the builds to come. Thanks so much for the great content. It just keeps getting better and better. Diggin' it 👍
Thanks for everything.
I like watching your videos you are awesome down to earth guy and good luck and be safe and God bless you guys
Another great video Bill.Glad you are feeling better
recently I saw a video cleaning culverts. When it was clear, they ran 1/4 inch cable thru it and just left it in there. When clogged, they used the cable to pull a chain thru with a dismounted tire. Drag said chain and tire thru the culvert with the skid steer, whereas it scraped out all obstructions. Might be something to try.

Great video as always Bill interested in seeing what the 5.3 will do with the carburetor I have a 6.0 that I am putting a carburetor on
If it’s a work truck it’s Cummins. With all that said that’s a damn good looking 3500 Bob has there✅ 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Buck Wheat is a genius ... this is the absolute best TV not on TV. Old Man, you are a gifted storyteller.
Nice new shop but there still seems to be alot of car "leapfrog" going on when needing a particular vehicle. Does Jax Wax have a product to help remove the tire rubber on the Malibu's rear quarter panels when cleaning?
yeah the tire rubber drives me crazy lol my ocd i guess
Mr "sliding in Jackie's dm's" is worried about a French guy🤣🤣🤣
"To drop Her morning duece" I lost it! 😂😂
Thanks again Bill for the awsome content keep them coming
I’ve never watched a video a flinched so hard that I almost drop my phone, that is until I saw that tool box rock forward on the skid loader. That’s amazing it didn’t fall forward.
Cracking me up man😂😂
Great great episode, funny stuff
That black ford 250 hi boy was insane nice!
Great video Bill. Glad you are doing better.
That will be interesting to see the 5.3 results from efi to carb. Look forward to seeing that
I kinda like that GMC dually, and I am a 6.7 Powerstroke owner. Preventative maintenance is always needed, but constant mechanical failures are another issue.
If you don't keep bobs duramax, make it the next giveaway!
That's an incredible truck! I would do unspeakable things to have it!
Thank you for sharing.👍
Hey Bill,,if you need a bridge look for old flatbed semi trailer, you can find them for scrap. I found one with missinng floor & put concrete on it
Bill I’ve been wondering if I was missing videos or been unsubscribed.
I've always had problems with the holly carburetors, always having to adjusting
Looking forward to meeting you in Orlando have a safe trip
Loved my 2006 LBZ/Allison. Towed a 35’ camper all over the USA. If you buy it, delete it. Put a secondary fuel filter system, like the FASS. I added a 90 auxiliary tank that fed into the fuel filler neck. Best mod I did. Keep the filters changed and use good ones.
That Duramax looks so cool! Beautiful rig.
I’d love to see the progress on your ‘55 at the House of Pearls!
I am so excited to watch yall in sick week
You killed another one brother loving the content
Absolutely LOVE the new t-shirts!! Gotta get me one each ordered rite away.
The amount of work you guys do in both shops and running equipment in the shop I can't believe you don't use an exhaust system be a whole lot healthier for everyone in there.
