  • The film captures the help and efforts of Czech experts in the creation of the Aragvi PL.
The project entitled "Implementation of Sustainable Forestry for the Aragvi Protected Landscape" is the result of a partnership between the Czech Republic and Georgia in the framework of foreign development cooperation. The main theme of the film is to introduce the uninitiated public to what is hidden under the relatively sophisticated name.
Thanks to the team led by Tadeáš Štěrba, the audience will get to the high mountain area - the foothills of the Great Caucasus. Directly in challenging terrain, they can get to know the work of individual specialists - forest typologist, botanists, forest ecology specialists, etc., about the work of which most of the lay public knows very little.
The roots from which the future protected landscape is to grow include not only nature, but also people, because the entire area has been home to people since ancient times. That is why important aspects of local culture are emphasized in the film - for example, in the person of the writer and poet Vazha Pshavela. Already in his work, the relationship with the local nature is strongly emphasized. Painter, writer, and ethnographer Shota Arabuli provides information about the original inhabitants of one of the Aragvi valley in the film - Chevshureti. They are also important for understanding historical displacement - the return of people to the area is one of the goals of the project and the proclamation of the protected landscape. In this context, the lesson of forest pedagogy for Georgian children captured in the film is an interesting motive for the audience. The goal of forest pedagogy is to think of the youngest, who should not leave the Aragvi area in the future.
The aim of the documentary film is to show how the project (and similar projects) focused on a certain area can help Georgia in its development, but above all the local people who do not want to leave the places where they were born and how to preserve this landscape in an unchanged form in the future.
