  • The Grand Power MK23 isn't exactly like every other striker on the market - in fact - it's nothing like the other guns in the segment. Using a rotating action and having the exact same ergonomics as it's hammer fired brethren - the Q100 MK23 stands out in a sea of clones. Stay tuned for a review of the Grand Power Q100 MK23.

Great review of this pistol. I have been interested in a polymer hammer fired pistol such as the HK P30, CZ P07, and the Beretta PX4 but they all require after market slide milling, which increases the cost of the pistol. I ended up getting the Grand Power K100 Mk23. I haven’t fired it yet, but using a G-Sight laser cartridge the pistol points and aims superbly. I did master the reassembly after practicing it for several days. Overall it’s a very uniquely designed pistol and it’s always great to get something a little different than getting more of what you already have.

As an proud owner of three different grand powers, including the 380, which is not a rotating I can say that the workmanship is excellent shooting experience soft, and the result accurate. I highly recommend these guns.
With all of that said the takedown is a major pain in the ass. It’s not simply lifting over the rails, lifting over the rails and exactly the right angle. Sometimes it’s easier than others. Sometimes I put it back in the safe in pieces so I can come back to it again next time.

I recently bought a Grand Power P1 MK23. I love it. So I designed and printed some holsters for it. A version with a claw to make it easier to conceal carry and another one without the claw. I've been carrying mine for a few weeks now and I think it is comfortable.

The GP mag followers have a nub on the bottom that limits them to 15. Cut it off and they will hold 16 . Theyre mec gar made and identical to CZ 75 mags that also hold 16 so guessing this was some restricted state BS they did to sell in more states

@@ImOldGregg It exists if you look for it, and in the MK23 variation. There is also an MK12 version on Gunbroker right now that is a decocker model. My hesitancy is that it's almost the exact same size as a PX4 compact with three fewer rounds. Height-wise it's also close to a CZ P-01. (I researched this via Handgun Hero, they don't have the MK23 models on there yet, but they do have the MK12s and what you'll want to compare is the P11). Granted it's far cheaper than either of those models when you factor in the extra cost to get similar trigger performance and an optics cut, but I'm not sure it's worth getting this model over the P1 or even the K100. Furthermore, the P1 is very close in size to the CZ S2C, just a hair taller and the K100 has the same height but is just a bit longer on the barrel/slide.

I believe in your video on the X-Calibur you said you can change the magazine follower and spring and get extra rounds in there, so I'm suspicious that the 15 round grip is there because 15 is the max for IPSC not because that's the most it could hold.

Why is it that Hammer fire pistols don't have a flat trigger? Looking at the CZ's Berettas, etc..every hammer fire is a big old curve trigger. Just curious.

What if Beretta redesigned the PX4 as a striker gun? Add clearance on the slide to sink a red dot. They could "borrow" a precocked striker design. Maybe redesign the new 380 grip around a modern carry gun 9mm 15rd small mag. Mill a divot at the end of the barrel.

  • @Quality_Guru

I have buyer’s remorse after I attempted to mount a red dot on the MK23 K100 pistol. The installation of a red dot nullifies the iron sights as they are too small. For an optics ready duty pistol this is a significant design flaw that should have been covered during your review of this pistol. It will be demoted to a range toy pistol or sold off. I’m not a RUclips content creator, but I did reach out to Global Ordinance to see if Grand Power engineers can design a rear sight for this pistol that is Suppressor height since the rear sight is a proprietary part. Apparently the front sight can be replaced with a CZ part but time will tell. It will be interesting to see if Grand Power is genuinely focused on supporting their customers or if they’re just making a cash grab for money and not building customer loyalty.😢😢😢

Kinda interested in the shorter barreled mk23 Q1. I think the slide mass has gone up in the new generation surprisingly, i think GB Guns broke out the scale to compare..... Ive added mass to the previos generations slide in the form of an optic without adding additional traction to the grip and it kinda ruined the magic a bit.

I guess you're really hooked into the gun culture now and don't want to piss off any of the big entities like you didn't seem to before. I would love love love to know what you think about what's going on with USPSA. I bet you have a unique insight I guess you're just afraid to share it?? Or are you just a gun reviewer now.
