- Full episode of Battle of the Network Stars from May 5, 1982
The winners were CBS , One of my favorite tv shows, growing up , amazing to see A list actors and icons battle it out for what would be roughly $100,000 in todays value ,can you see A listers fighting out like they did back then , i think not LOL , the remake failed completely, love seeing how hard these celebrities tried and the competition to win is awesome , I'll be posting all 19 episode over the next few days ! Battle of the Network Stars is a series of competitions in which television stars from ABC, CBS and NBC would compete in various sporting events. A total of 19 of these competitions were held between 1976 and 1988, all of which were aired by ABC.All but one of the competitions took place at the sports facilities of Pepperdine University near Malibu, California, the exception being XVIII which was held in Ixtapa, Mexico.
Each network was represented by eight or ten of its stars from various series, and one of those people from each team would be elected to serve as the network's team captain.

"Girl's got a lot of Spirit. A lot of Guts. It's a little nipply out, but she'll survive"...
You had to be there (back then, that is) ;)
They had real pubic hair 😊
CBS.. a STUNNING UPSET.. the women outlasted the men. WOW
12.15 that must have been some tape or glue holding wee Willy Shatners wig on there.🤣😂
Big Tom wasn't going to lose to the other lead man Mark Harmon WOW 😳 what a grueling tug of war match of endurance stamina strength & wish they still had this on tv very competitive athletic Hollywood stars back in my day good memories for me
PERNELL ROBERTS:
0:00 Intro
3:24 3:39 4:02 5:46 Swimming Relay
10:26 13:44 Kayak Relay
14:16 16:16. 22:53 24:01 Football
29:45 Dunk Tank
41:51 Obstacle Course
46:13 Simon Says
54:48 Interview
55:48 Tug of War
back before reality tv shows took over, good clean fun
The 80s were the best.
Shatner better be careful his toupee doesn’t come off in the water 😂
Catherine Bach what a natural beauty!
Best TOW I've seen in a long time
Daniel Travanti was not as well prepared as Pernell Roberts to be anchor for tug of war. Roberts had the rope coiled around his body and his arms were wrapped. Travanti appeared to be just grabbing the end of the rope and couldn’t get leverage.
Hard to believe Howard Cosell was only 64-years-old in this.
How old did he live ?
@@Captainscentsable44 77 years.
They got rid of those little bio interviews from the earlier ones in the 70's. This one is all just the events. The bio segments could be boring or forced but they made things more personal which I kinda miss here.
I remember Battle of the Network stars!
The tug o wars got better as the show went on. Some of them were pretty good in the 70’s with Ferrigno etc, but they weren’t these 10 minute plus ordeals. This was a good one this year.
the cocaine budget was astronomical
Ahhhh, the 80's.....good clean television show where men were men and women were women with NO IN BETWEEN! I miss the 70's and 80's.
What show was Thelma Hopkns on at abc in 1982?
Bosom Buddies
@@reechard5556 Yes. I forgot about that. Thank you
80's were awesome! Poofy hair, tight jeans. Girls were fine. High school was the best.
I had bad pimples and a curved wood 😊
People in comments from previous episodes say they can't stand Simon Says, I think it's great. Lots of fun
abc needed heather locklear, not old joan collins in the running relay.this tug of war was brutal.
For my money the best tug of war what a surprise two men three women can win so there lol.
29:14 I've heard of "The Fall GUY" but the "The Fall GIRL?" That's what she did.
That wasn't such a hot idea to put Trapper John himself and his co-star in the kayak.
As far as Joan Collins was concerned...
Why not both in kayak?
Cossell was wrong. It was BEN MURPHY in Battle 1976, the first ever BNS, who had the fastest obstacle run among men. Murphy of NBC had 17.0 flat over Kevin Dobson. That record still stands.
Chochi was fast ,as well
Mark Harmon was and still is a cutie
I know they wasn't allowed to dump nobody on there on team but just imagine if Catherine Bach dump Tom Wopat
They were on the same show. The dukes of hazzard
Personally I picked heather thomas
If they followed the rules in battleIII nbc and abc met in the tug of war abc had a100 point lead but nbc win the tug of war making it a tie but because abc won more events they were the winners nbc won more so they should be the winner
I wish the girls in dunk tank were in bikini
Better nude 😎
Im not bragging. But if i was younger i think id beat chochis record time . But im not young or famous lol
I would do the same thing just for a kiss from daisy dukes
What are you talking about Willis 😊
I think he means the Simon says game..where the guy with the toupe was playing very fast. It's easy to confuse people when you do this. He said touch your hips so fast I hardly understood him. And he touched his knees. When she touched her knees. She was eliminated. Very cruel
@@Captainscentsable44 They should touch some thing else 😎
56:47 Well, not only is she a snot, she's a cheater too, diving in the pool too early in the relay swimming competition which cost her team a penalty and first place.
I don't care I would be the first to.
Just so you all know the reality of 82 is smokin tight young bucks hit the best smokin yummys. Hollywood was weak like you just saw. Escapped on 90 but before that was grrrrrr baby. 2024 is phat and gross with cottage cheese hanging on legs and ass. Blessed 62 to 90 was cali's best.
