- Welcome to our 2nd week of Decades galore and this week we are saluting the 1980's network Game Shows and Tonight we have All Star Family Feud from October 1982 and we have the cast of Knot's Landing, All My Children, Dynasty and General Hospital Playing for charity from 1982 Enjoy!
Wow! Donna Mills, Joan Collins and Linda Evans, all in the same room, together, on a game show? can't get better than this! love it! Such fine classy women/actresses. Not to mention, all the rest of the cast from Knots Landing and Dynasty. Love it! It's so nice, so cool, to see them as themselves, as real every day people like anyone else, aside from their TV character roles. RIP Julie Harris, Kevin Dobson, Dack Rambo, & Richard Dawson 🌹
Stuart Damon also departed the world last Summer.

Joan and Lee of DYNASTY were both on the original STAR TREK. Many know Joan was on the popular episode CITY ON THE EDGE OF FOREVER, I wonder how many knew Lee played Abraham Lincoln in the episode THE SAVAGE CURTAIN?

I'm in heaven I never even knew about this, Knots Landing was the soap opera that brought me, my brother, father and mother together on Thursday Nights, The Writing the storylines, I wish I could get the complete series of it. When they added Nicolette Sheridan later as a teen my heart would beat really fast, I think it was about season 5 or 6 when me and my brother got hooked all the way to the end

When this was aired on ABC primetime, school lunch menu courtesy of the Glendora, CA Unified School District: Spaghetti & Meat Sauce, Toasted Cheese Buns, Buttered Vegetable (going to be on corn), Pineapple Cup.

Kim Delaney did the classic "I'm cute and dumb", bit but she obviously was very smart and nailed it when playing for the big money. Brilliantly played. 😀
One thing I remember about dack rambo was how his jeans fit on Dallas.
Lucky Ted got a good kiss from Donna Mills after his great answers during the fast money segment.

Wow, all the main cast members for the most part from Dynasty and most of the mains from Knots (would've been great if Joan was on, but was nice to see Julie on there)
Wow! These were huge stars at the time. Compare it to today's "Celebrity Family Feud" where they have one famous person per team and 4 family members that no one has ever heard of.
I meant to watch this when it first aired, but missed it. Now 100 years later, i get to see it! Thanks for posting.
Surprised Joan Van Ark wasn't on as Michele, Ted, Kevin and her were so close. Joan Collins and John Forsythe hated one another off camera!

@@quincycooper79 Yes he didn't like her. "There was so much ageism in Hollywood, so I'd bring it up in interviews and Mr Forsythe didn't like it.
'Then when I accepted the People's Choice award before he could, he refused to speak and walked off stage.
'He didn't speak to me for a whole season after that and when I had to do a scene where he was supposed to try and strangle me, I insisted on having a stand-in!' said Collins to TV host Graham Norton.
I call BS on this, because it's a known fact that Joan, John, and Linda had a friendship that predates Dynasty. At the time that they filmed Alexis walking into the courtroom at the end of season 1 of Dynasty, they had not yet cast Joan as Alexis. Linda recommended Joan, and John agreed. Also, when there were rumors about whether or not John was gay, Joan defended John. Being a longtime staunch supporter of the LGBT community, even if John WAS gay, she wouldn't have outed him.

Richard Dawson was famous since the 1960’s and in England was a “sex symbol”. He was known to have many women admirers. In the 70’s he was a regular on “Match Game”. He was, by far, the most popular celebrity on the panel (and the smartest). Almost every contestant would pick him to win the show. He started the “kiss thing” on that show. He did it for “Good Luck” to the poor contestants trying to win a few bucks. He carried it over to the “Family Feud”. One of the contestants married him in real life, and they stayed married until he died.
I’m English,and nearly 72,and I’ve never heard of him.What was in on,over here?Good Heavens,I’ve just looked him up.I didn’t know he’d been married to Diana Dors.He must be the one who got custody of the children,and brought them up in America.I don’t think he was well known,in his own right,over here,though,just by being her husband.He certainly lost his accent.
His birth name was Colin Emm.
During the time he was married to Diana Dors, he was known as Dickie Dawson..

Definitely a shock to see people like Joan Collins and Donna Mills apart of this. Dynasty was already in its 3rd season when this aired and was a hit. Knots Landing just got their feet on solid ground.
Family Feud with Richard Dawson really did have some A list starts. Can’t say that about the newer versions.
Yes you can definitely say that loud again! Yes I never got the chance to watch the family fued when I was younger but I did see some of the shows and the characters, usually at my friend's house... and now in my 50s get to watch these episodes like a time capsule for me. Now if match game would have had more stars on a regular basis .😊

Linda and John were on a black and white comedy years ago.
Yes,when Mr.forsythe starred in his own sitcom,bachelor father(1957-1962), which still today bears distinction as the only tv series ever to air on the three major broadcast networks.(abc,NBC,cbs).
Rest in peace, Kevin Dobson. Also, ironically, "All My Children" played against "General Hospital". Soon, Kim Delaney will be joining GH (per Deadline).

No, this aired on October 15th. Don't know where you got 22nd from. Also airing on the 15th on ABC following this was a TV Movie with Andy Griffith titled "For Lovers Only". Over on NBC was Game 3 of the 1982 World Series. All of this was researched by me in the newspaper archives. This All-Star Family Feud Special originally aired on October 15th, 1982. Case closed.

DONNA Mills and Ted Shaclrford and John James have all been on CBS DAYTIME.
For all of you "triggered" overly sensitive snowflakes: If a contestant did not want Richard to kiss them, all they had to do was go to the Mark Goodman and require not to be kissed. Many contestants did that over the years, and Richard complied without any hard feelings. BTW. Richard Dawson kissed MEN, elderly women, and all races. Any person that received a kiss was ABSOLUTELY OK with it. Watch and you will see many women who initiate the kiss or grab Richard.
Thank you, this is not communicated enough with today’s crowd. Folks just see Richard kissing and go off on their me too/covid rants and never wanna hear the nuance. Richard never did anything that wasn’t cool by the contestants.

They were asked beforehand if they wanted Richard to kiss them. The majority overwhelmingly said “yes.” If any said “no,” he wouldn’t bother; however very few did.
