Another thing is that Batman’s mythos HAS fantastical elements. It’s part of the character as well. It’s just that those more fantastical elements are adapted to fit his tone. Comics’ clay face, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy. These are things that can introduce those elements to the Batman universe first, to make the transition a little more seamless.

I think considering we have a really young Batman in The Batman, you can lean into the aspect of Batman’s character of his world and his mission getting increasingly complex, as he goes from fighting thugs to real villains (riddler, joker) to genuine monsters.

SHHH 🤫 STOP BRINGING SENSE TO NONSENSE. He's been dealing with the fantastical for the majority of his history. It's almost like they're ashamed that the source material is a comic book.

Could it work? Yes. There's nothing stoping it from working. Should they do it? Absolutely not. Matt Reeves wrote The Batman to be independent and we should respect his desire to tell his story that way.

The Batman was not that grounded. Mostly Gotham is fantastical as hell in that movie i don't care what people say it could fit perfectly.
