  • These PYREX pots used to be in every kitchen that I remembered.
Now, they aren't as common. This one was found at a Yard Sale a number of years ago for a decent price. Its in wonderful condition and, as you can see, works great!
This is certainly not a speedy process to make coffee, but its very relaxing to watch.

Very nice!! Once it STARTS to perc, don’t you turn down the heat and perc for 7 +/- minutes? I heard if you keep the heat cranked, it can make the coffee bitter…?

Yes, boiling it will make the coffee bitter. I set the burner on medium heat. It takes awhile to heat up but that's ok. Once it starts perking I turn it down to 5, 5 1/2, just enough to maintain a slow, steady perk. A perk every 1 or 2 seconds is enough. NEVER let it boil or you will scortch your coffee. Usually 8 minutes or so is enough depending on your preference for strong coffee. I like it strong so 9 or 10 is good for me.

You should turn the electric or gas down a bit. And perk it one minute pet cup.
