- “But to become that Ironman champion, I really had to take the courage to carve my own path. The accident in Indonesia in 2014 changed my life in a way I could never have imagined before. In hindsight there were a lot of decisions I made in order to get a second chance to make the most out of life. I really hope to inspire others with my story to get the most out of life themselves.” Competing in an Ironman triathlon is one thing, surviving a shipwreck is a whole other story. Els Visser is a survivor, doctor and Ironman champion who pushes herself to the limit with everything she does in her life. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Je bent een topper Els!
So true!!! Each individual is more capable to do and achieve goals as he/she knwos. Lots of us need some 'hard' experience to discover that. Try and fight, discover and walk, fall down but always get up and learn; be open for new things and get out of your box and you will discover a " new" world around you....( it was already there). Els good luck and you'll get there...beautiful how you are ready to open yourself to the world....it will give you lots of opportunities ans lots of love, good feelings and s6. KR Hans Pijls, DVM
Inspirerend!

Thank you Bertrand!!
GP shortage here in NZ where you won the ironnan. Obviously people are free to do what they want but from Dr to Triathlete is a downgrade in societal use fullness.
When I was young we jumped of 30 foot plus piers for fun ran all day and camped out all night for fun please stop with the unknown exercise is what humans are designed to do.
