Right you are ... at a time when many rock bands stole songs, Cream made sure that "Skip James" was liste don the credits - and his widow wrote the band a thank-you letter after his death. (Ironically, after Cream had broken up).
I believe he did....Cream made sure he got royalties/copyrights for the song.I think some of those $ paid for an operation he had during his last years.
