In your what? But certainly, vFlyte`s C150 is so close to the real thing. Flew C150 3hrs IRL just before the X-Mas. No other XP11 plane gave me so close to the real thing experience. Recommending this one. Really adore your videos #ReactionReview. Keep up the good work! Thank you!
The C150 is great from vFlyte. I'm delighted you enjoy my content Luke, thanks so much, and thanks for commenting! : )
Not only are your reviews absolutely cinematic, funny and entertaining but also very detailed! I think your X-Plane videos belong to the best on youtube.
Thanks Gripper, great video to start the year. Brought back memories, used to do aerobatics in a 150 aerobat in my younger days with a pilot friend of mine. This model looks great.
After I purchased this aircraft, I had to write to the developer to tell him how much I loved it. I have never been motivated to do that for any other airplane. The developer said this 150 is based on one owned by his wife's cousin. He spent a considerable amount of time sitting in it, measuring it and taking photos of it. He also learned to fly in a 152, so he has some actual experience. Compared to what I've paid for other similar aircraft, this one is a steal. It is now my favorite GA aircraft in X-Plane and I haven't felt the need to fly any other airplane since I bought this one. I only fly in VR and it is a pure joy to fly in VR. It's also my first VflyteAir aircraft. If the rest are like this one, I will likely be filling up my hangar in 2020.
Brilliant Ken! I hope vflyteAir will be making models for FS2020! Thanks for commenting keep's coming! : )
Stellar review, and I enjoyed your humor as well. I have many fond memories of training time in a 150.
I'm delighted you enjoyed it Daniel. You trained in the !50, cool! I have a great deal of hours in this aircraft (in real life), as well as the Just flight 152, they are both great! : )
Yeap. I have one in my hangar, a total dream and flies wonderfully, great Detail, top notch!!
Nice... Its a good one alright! : )
I own a Cessna 150 and I absolutely love it my first plane ever I bought
Cool Waqar, sounds great! : )
+1 GS - Been a while but don't ever remember a C150 with drooped wing tips, as included in vFlyteAir's version. As I recall the drooped wing tip design was a fairly recent feature of late '70s/early '80s Cessnas. My then-new 1981 Cutlass C172RG had them, and I think the C152 had them as well. Like I said, been a long time so I may be mistaken. And it's kind of interesting that this C150 'features' wheel pants mounting plates, but no wheel pants. Go figure.
Also, it's fantastic to get your impressions on these sim models since you're currently -terrorizing- teaching new student pilots and intimately familiar with these aircraft and their flying characteristics, as well as their idiosyncrasies.
Safe flying in 2020 and... keep 'em coming G.S.! 😁👍
Thanks again Jimbo, you sound like you know a lot about Aviation! : )
Oh wow, you're making me excited to fly a GA aircraft! That's unusual...
The only way to fly Nick! ;;;)))
Happy New Year ! I enjoy your video's very much.
Thanks so much Wilga. I'm delighted you enjoy my content. : )
Very nice review. Now I have to buy the blooming thing, thanks! 😂😂. Told myself I would not buy anymore aircraft just in case MS2020 makes me uninstall X-Plane. You never know. Happy new year.
Hi Billy, Thanks and I'm glad you found the video useful. : )
Fantastic video! How do you get such flowing movement (ie: close-ups to the C150, etc, etc)? I've got this in my hangar, but can't find the airport, or terrain detail for X-Plane 11... where/what do you use for creating such great terrain, etc? Sorry, I'm just bedazzled! Please answer. :)
Hi Master Sargent! I'm using "Orbx Great Britan south". Also the Airport is East Midlands, again from Orbx. orbxdirect.com
I use a program called X-Camera for X-Plane, www.stickandrudderstudios.com/x-camera. The only issue is it take's about two and a half day to make a video like this. I'm delighted you liked the video! (I may well do a video on how I do it one day). Thanks for commenting. : )
Great video!!
Thanks man! : )
Good video as usual.
Thanks for this review.
I'm so glad you liked it PT. Thanks, More to come! : )
many thanks again,, a nice review pal ,,
hoping a grand new year and xmas was had ,,,,,,,,,,,, 2020 here it comes(SIM AND YEAR)
Thanks G4! I'm glad you enjoyed it! 2020 will be interesting with Flight sim 2020 coming out! : )
Great video, definitely will add to the hangar at some point... not sure about Igor and the math teacher though!
Ha haa! Thanks for commenting Moose!
Amazing review omce more!! How do you get thr colours like that? Are you using maxx?
Hi Ahmed, I use Maxx to brighten up X-Plane 11. It's great! Thanks for commenting and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! : )
Could you make a video of this one with the Pimax vr glasses?
Grip, I need your help. Looking for the opinion of a real pilot (and a CFI at that). My CFI approves of my use of XPlane for practice supplementation. We use a Cessna 150 in real life. And I jumped on this release as soon as I could. However, the excitement turned to disappointment. In calm conditions it's great. Great sounds and features, W/B numbers are spot on, and the ASI is in mph as is the real one I use. However, in turbulence it feels barely controllable, and x-wind landings are horribly unstable. Not at all what I am used to, nor expected.
Have you tried this in rough or x-wind conditions? What are your thoughts? What download would you recommend for yourself or your own students were they using a real 150?
I am around $50 in payware planes now, and feeling frustrated. Originally I got the Carenado C152 so that I could employ NHadrian's Mod. That one feels real in all conditions. However, I worry about how close the 152 really is to a 150. I know the weights are different, so power might be, and so could drag or lift. And the ASI is in KIAS, which has gotten in the way once when he quizzed me on speeds while I was busy flying. Have you used this one?
You have another video of the JustFlight 150. How does that one compare to the other 2? Are there any others you might suggest?
Hi Usquanigo, I would recommend VFlyteAir's C150 or Just Flight C152. There is no real difference between the C150 and C152 to fly, both in the sim and real life.
There is no real way to compare turbulence in the flight simulator to real life. I would put the setting on very low turbulence in the sim. Any thing else is just unrealistic. X-Winds are fine, but remember - in real life winds veer, back and change speeds, its very rarely steady and constant.
The best way to use the Sim is for practising your procedures. like the steps you take while practising stalls, or your checklists in the circuit etc.
Does that help?
Thanks, When taxing outside view the aircraft looks like a Steam Train lol
Glad you enjoyed it Mike. ;;;)))
wish you had done a spin...these things spin like a top
(Music Starts) Ha, David! Thanks for having me on the show. Hi Paul.
Ye the 150 Aerobat is the one to spin, I've done it many times. I'll do that in one of my next video's. ; )
Great review mate. Do you know if there are any c172R just as good as this one for x plane? That’s what I use at my flight school 😅
C172R.. humm I'll have a look. You're an instructor?
Climb was 70KIAS on the ASI not 60KIAS as stated. Vx is 56 KIAS according to the POH in your link. Maybe you meant Vy not Vx. Vy is given as 68KIAS and climb rate of 670ft/min at sea level assuming 1600lbs (MTOW).
If you look closely at the footage again James, It’s the Inside scale you should be reading on the airspeed indicator, not the outside scale which is reading 70 miles per hour. Look at the inside scale of the airspeed indicator, its actually reading 60 Knots indicated (Vx), as I correctly stated in the video. 12:44. This is actually a common error I find in many C150 / C152 pilots.
In the book, It will indeed say 56kts is Vx and 68kts is Vy. I inform my students of this, BUT get them to fly 60kts for Vx and 70kts for Vy respectively. Why?
56kts is actually harder to fly than 60kts. Try it. Moreover, the actual real aircraft is not new. There is parasite drag due to little dents on the surfaces of the wings over the years as well as many other types of drag - due to ageing etc. Because of this the climb speeds in Cessna aircraft is typically rounded up, (56knts to 60kts - Vx, and 68Kts to 70kts - Vy). These speeds are also rounded up for safety. Any schools, examiners and aviation authorities would not question this as its a sensible, logical and safe practise. There are many arguments and discussions with regards flying these old aircraft like the C150. I usually side with safety and sound logic. I’m sure you will agree with me that sound logic and safety will prevail.
Believe it or not, I tested this in a real C152. I climbed it at Vy, and Vx “Book speeds”,I recorded the rate of climb, and believe it or not Vx had a batter rate of climb and Vy had a better angle! This is because its was an old aircraft. I’m sure when the aircraft came out of the factory 1/2 a century ago, it would have flown as shown in the book. Don’t believe anything you read - I say.
However, if you wish to hold me to task, Vy is actually 68kts, “Buy the book”, well done for reading it by the way. As for me, and my knowledge, you can have your 2kts. ;;;)))
Interesting one. How does it compare with the Carenado 152? I have this one and am pretty satisfied as far as flight characteristics and environment are concerned
Actually the X-Plane models for both are brilliant Cyril. The only main difference between them, in the real world are:
1) The C150 has 100ph, and 152 has 110 hp.
2) The C150 has 40 degrees flaps, the C152 has 30 degrees.
3) The C150 has all up wight if 1600lbs, The C152 has 1670lbs.
There are other small differences (Like how the flaps are operated), but essentially they are the same aircraft I feel. : )
Do your ears ring after flying after an hour?
Yeah man, it's that wind noise that gets to me after a while, you know, that constant whoooosh noise.
What I'm reeeeally curious about: what kind of dialect is that?? You say whysh instead of white, cockpish and things like that. :) Just curious! Thanks!
I have this but it's landing gear is too small and angled poorly. It sits too low and looks goofy when on the ground. Too bad. It flies well. I use the Just Flight 152. Better visual model. Nice review, though!
Sorry to hear that Luke, But I'm glad you enjoyed the review! Thanks for watching! : )
Maybe it's the gigantic pilot that bothers me. Huge dude. It sure flies well, though. Enjoy all your reviews!
@Luke.
You must be the only person out of hundreds of Sim owners who purchased this aircraft for Xplane who says the landing gear is too small and that it looks, 'Goofy'. The modelling is A1. Maybe something wrong with your installation.
We have hangers in the US but we put our clothes on them. The hangars we have we keep our aircraft in lol
Opps!
Are you from Wales?
As much as I would enjoy having that plane. I cant justify the expence. Not on my fixed budget. (Disability)
Maybe one day Nerco. : )
Totally hear and understand your comment no doubt flt simming can be expensive hobby , but gives us all a grand experience , I always wait for the sales too save a £ or 2 ,good luck pal hope you purchase it soon ,,,,,,,,,,,,
Very nice all round except for the exhaust smoke, it is totally unrealistic.
Just Flight C152 is just as good.
It is John, It sure is! : )
*hangar
Opps!
Great video but please leave sound on aircraft and environment. Everybody has their own choice of music. IMO yours kind of sucks :)
I'll see what I can do Byron, I'll do a poll in one of my next videos and change the format accordingly as people want it. Thanks for the constructive criticism! : )
@@GripperSim Ignore my critic of your music tastes. Non of my business. I love your videos anyway.
i give you a reason to not..... Wait to the next FS
