That had to be the smoothest (pretty much no vibration almost) C152 engine start ever.. The whole plane gets a good shake when the engine fires from what I remember.
What a trimendous small plane you have, l have thurly enjoyed the program, also the flight was really great & enjoyable, so thanks for posting the program, keep safe till the next time, John Kerr .
Clicking you're hearing is the strobe through the headset. Carenado and JF planes usually sim this feature. You can adjust the volume of it by lowering the copilot volume usually if it's too loud.
Bought it. Love it. My only complaints are: a) Flap sounds, which have already been mentioned b) Control surface sounds. I've never heard anything like this squeaking/grinding sound in the real airplane c) Too much power required to hold glideslope on landing. In the real airplane, with full flaps, I can maintain 60 knots and a 3 degree descent angle with about 1625-1675 rpms of power applied. In the Just Flight version, it seems to be falling somewhere between 1720 and 1825, requiring up to 2000 to stabilize if I find myself a bit low. That's not quite right...
Much more stuff bother me as a real 152 pilot too: 1. Side slip during direct crosswind: lack of rudder authority even when approaching a higher speed 70 kts and flaps 10. 2. No engine effect at low speed: So when adding power, the vertical speed should immediately increase and the other way around. A C152 should be landed using throttle to set the vertical speed and yoke to set the airspeed and not the other way around. 3. During traffic pattern, on downwind, in the real aircraft I can maintain 75 kts and 2000 RPM flaps 10 In the sim I need 2300 RPM. 4. Same in crosswind: 500 to 600 ft/min of descent, we should be able to keep 65 kts with flaps 20 and 1700 RPM. I need 2200 RPM. 5. In final 30 flaps and 65 kts I need 2000 to 2300 RPM which is way too high and almost full power. That s not realistic at all. 6. Steering is too sensitive on the ground 7. Would be great to have the possibility to reduce the sound of the engine only. It is too loud and idle rpm sound produces to high frequency. Running the engine at 1000 RPM sounds like it is already running at 1700 or 1800 RPM. 8. Would be nice to switch off the tips appearing on the screen when fooling for instance or vapor lock. That s really ennoying when it pops up on the screen. 9. Notice that they simulate a fuel pump on the C152. There is no fuel pump on a C152. 10. One can start the engine without priming when engine is cold. It needs at least 3 to 5 injections in real life to be able to fire the engine up. 11. Adding flaps does not pitch up the plane while in the real plane, setting flaps 10 at 80 kts really pitch up the plane and we have to push hard on the yoke to keep it level. So totally inaccurate flight model which is supposed to be corrected soon since 11.30 is out. Just flight will now modify accordingly hopefully.
Osamah - FYI the little trainer has always been known as a 'Cessna one-fifty-two' or just 'one-fifty-two', not a "C one five two" or even "one five two". BTW, ubiquitous Cessnas typically aren't referred to using the C prefix, that's redundant as everyone knows you're referring to a Cessna when you say 'one-fifty' 'one-fifty-two' 'one-seventy-two'. 'one-seventy-two RG' (my former aircraft) 'one-eighty-two', 'one-forty' 'one-seventy' 'one-eighty' 'one-ninety-five' 'four-twenty-one' etc.
I find it interesting in the way your checklist wants you to start the aircraft (4:00). The way mine say (admittedly it is real life so it's bound to be different) when I fly is to go mixture full rich, throttle 1/4", start the engine and adjust the power to hold 1200 rpm.
Came back to say this exact same thing after buying the plane and flying it for a bit last night. I get a similar click through the overhead speaker in my 150 from the beacon flasher.
I'm already a inscribed the Q8 Pilot Channel and now I'm new member this channel too I love your review and your video are pretty useful for learn more and more as well. I would like know if you are using "reshade" to improve the colors about Xplane!
Flight model is absolutely inaccurate. The NHAdrian is really better on that aspect. You can check the review I did on both the JF 152 and the NHAdrian mod.
Nice video. The flap sound is really weird though. Flaps of real C152s I've flown with (around 5 different ones) sound much more like the Carenado ones which is something I've never imagined I'd be saying.
No, you are not alone in hearing this "Tic-tic... Tic-tic... Tic-tic sound. I heard this on several youtube videos. Did you talk to Just Flight about this anoying bug ? They will surely listen to you more than me. I'll wait before buying this great addon! Thanks!
Nice review but from what I know (at least on the 150) when I flew it the alternator is supposed to be turned on after engine start. Also pull starter ftw!
rotated a tad fast there, in the real 152 which i fly i find its best just to give one setting of flaps and then almost let the plane take off by itself
nice video.....may think of getting aircraft....but some how my xplane 11 is giving peoblems Research Leminar is only saying serial key has been denied so I'm in demo mode. is something wrong with Xplane?
Thanks, but is there a "calming" voice that tell us what are the real differences between the two models? In internet there isn't a fairly detailed analysis.
Alternator is only switched after engine start, and priming is necessary to start it, especially when it's cold as here. I'm surprised it caught, and so fast, really not realistic. You forgot the run-up, which just beside being very important, would have given interesting information on the model, also many little things in the different procedures. On those models you keep full rich during taxi. Make sure to check the oil pressure after starting the engine, and on your take-off run. Watch your speed during the flight, and on the approach, those are dangerously low especially if, like you said, there are wind gusts! 80 to 75 on downwind, 70 on base, 65 on approach (with 20° flaps, flapless would be 70 kt). You're down to 50 kt, that's how many crash happen. Before touchdown, you must flare and pull throttle to idle at the same time, then maintain the plane until it lands, here you bounced because you hit the ground too fast. It's not the easiest to land, this plane just wants to fly forever...
This is just a first look. I don't normally do an in-depth review when doing a first look video. The aircraft, at the time of the video, wasn't finished. Thanks for watching!
It seems there's a lot of debate on this and indeed it doesn't seem to be that important. I like to make sure the warning light is working so I prefer this order, it's just safer as long as you use the checklist to make sure not to forget to switch the alternator on (should the warning light be defective...)!
I ask myself why flightsimmer always land this way, most of them are always too low on landing! In real life you will soon kill jourself. I sugfest you to learn making a proper flare. Otherwise, thank you, well done rewiew
I purchased this aircraft, however while the eye candy is first class, sounds are reasonable but as usual with many Just Flight aircraft the flight dynamics are nothing like the full size aircraft, taxing in this model of the Cessna 172 is really a joke, you cannot get the rpm low enough to allow the engine to idle in the parking area or to taxi at a correct speed, revs will not go below 800 rpm in this Just Flight 172 but in the real aircraft you can idle the engine while parked as low as 300 rpm and taxi 400 rpm depending on the ground surface of course. This is the most disappointing fault in this otherwise decent model of a 172.
Lots of new pilots training on the 150/152 in RL, it's good to have choices for sim training too. Could help make better effective time with your instructor, which is where you're paying way more than $40 per hour.
Subscribed, you are who I come to for all things X-Plane 11. Thank you for your hard work.
That had to be the smoothest (pretty much no vibration almost) C152 engine start ever.. The whole plane gets a good shake when the engine fires from what I remember.

Modelling of the aircraft is astounding. Great work by JustFlight!
Justflight are one of my favorite developpers, great video !

Thank you for covering the C152 - it looks like a realistic aircraft simulation..
Excellent, as always! Thank you Osama, best wishes from NZCH.

I think the tick you're hearing is the strobe light interference with your radio.
Turn off the strobe with the panel switch and the clicking goes away. Ah reality!
Came back to say this exact same thing after buying the plane and flying it for a bit last night. I get a similar click through the overhead speaker in my 150 from the beacon flasher.
Yep, that tick with strobes on is an actual "feature" on the C152, so, gotta hand it to Just Flight for including it with this airplane.
Thanks men, i was getting crazy with the tick, taught i had a defective plane :P
5:55 The tikking noice is the simulation of the strobelicghts over the radio verry nice!
The ticking noise is radio interference from the strobe lights operating
what addons do you use? The environment looks amazing!
Very nice video
Very nice video, thanks! I have been wanting a 152 for x-plane 11. I kept hoping you would move the transponder from standby to alt... :)
I'm already a inscribed the Q8 Pilot Channel and now I'm new member this channel too I love your review and your video are pretty useful for learn more and more as well. I would like know if you are using "reshade" to improve the colors about Xplane!
Was the engine running earlier? You just skipped the hand priming.
Very impressive aircraft... looks awesome.
Is this the standard ATC of X-Plane 11 ? Sounds pretty nice ^^
does this adds on (c-152) WORK WITH X-PLANE 12?
Has anyone tried slow flight, stalls, or spins yet? Super curious how accurate the flight dynamics are
Flight model is absolutely inaccurate. The NHAdrian is really better on that aspect. You can check the review I did on both the JF 152 and the NHAdrian mod.
Thanks, good stuff! :)
Nice video. The flap sound is really weird though. Flaps of real C152s I've flown with (around 5 different ones) sound much more like the Carenado ones which is something I've never imagined I'd be saying.
That's possibly something we might look after post-release and get it updated for you.
I agree. That sound threw me off as well. However, this will probably be in my hangar very soon.
Good product, just my two cents, you don't hear the flaps nor the tires in real life.
Very nice. Seems to have a more authentic sound than the Pipers.
Are the rudders quite sensitive like with the justflight piper arrow for XP ?
Is there a problem with directional steering in this plane during take off roll?
Q8, is there a Cessna TTY low wing turbo model out there for xplane?🤔🤔🤔
No, you are not alone in hearing this "Tic-tic... Tic-tic... Tic-tic sound. I heard this on several youtube videos. Did you talk to Just Flight about this anoying bug ? They will surely listen to you more than me. I'll wait before buying this great addon! Thanks!
Nice review but from what I know (at least on the 150) when I flew it the alternator is supposed to be turned on after engine start. Also pull starter ftw!
Some people say that but it doesn't matter and won't hurt anything. Almost positive it does not say to do that in the POH either.
Excellent !!
This is great! What are your specs
Hi, great video! May I know what program did you use to capture your sim videos? Thanks
What is this airport/scenery? By the way, wonderful acft. tks
So, answer to me. I'm not english native
Excellent review I do have one question though. Does this aircraft affect fps, and if so by how much?
Rest for me it does Not affect the FPS at all.
Julian Duepre yea learned that. I bought the aircraft the day after I commented it and I am very pleased with it
Can u tell me where is the fuel pump pls?
Thank you.
rotated a tad fast there, in the real 152 which i fly i find its best just to give one setting of flaps and then almost let the plane take off by itself
I wish every plane was able to put the GTN 750 in VC
Guess they aren't modeling having to prime the engine before startup? It fired right up without doing so.
nice video.....may think of getting aircraft....but some how my xplane 11 is giving peoblems Research Leminar is only saying serial key has been denied so I'm in demo mode. is something wrong with Xplane?
I like this rudder test! Which airport is that? Are you using Ortho tiles?
The 152 needs the Aerobatic checkered livery along with a bigger engine, for Aerobatic flights💥🤔👍
nice video. May I ask when will it be released
ccbryant This Friday as far as I know.
Q8Pilot thank you bro. I have owned the warrior and arrow turbo. Can’t wait for this GA
Does the carb heat work?
What is your pc? I want to get a pc for flight simulator that is smooth with good graphics. Thanks.
Wow
Will it work for X Plane 10?
You use Addons?
What is You PC?
Do you use a modded grass at 1:30??
Can`t see the instrument too dark
DONT FORGET TO YELL “CLEAR PROP”
One problem I have with xplane the planes look like they are moving too fast a tad slower would be realistic
UA90 Aviation ok
May you tell us (first) differences between this and p3d version?
grillodon The flight model is different for sure as xplane employs a completely different methodology.
Thanks, but is there a "calming" voice that tell us what are the real differences between the two models? In internet there isn't a fairly detailed analysis.
they're identical apart from the fact that because the xp version is in XP it looks visually better and sounds better as a result of fmod
Alternator is only switched after engine start, and priming is necessary to start it, especially when it's cold as here. I'm surprised it caught, and so fast, really not realistic. "just a first look" is probably not a very good reason not to do it correctly.
hmmm me thinks this is Q8pilot incognito? lol
Nice video. Seems like u came in too low and slow
Those flaps are WAY to grindy, they have more a hum than a screechy noise.
The first thing you do is Set the mixture to rich before turning the battery on. lots of school boy mistakes here. use your check list lol
Can you pass me the aero craft please
My email is xavidolos@gmail.com
Looks great, don't get me wrong. But $40 for a 152???? Yeah i'm good thanks
Tyler c $42 and yes I agree. Absurd price for a simple aircraft like this with no advanced avionics.
propeller is rather invisible
Geez FSX Steam Edition looks like wire frame compared to this.
I ask myself why flightsimmer always land this way, most of them are always too low on landing! In real life you will soon kill jourself. I sugfest you to learn making a proper flare. Otherwise, thank you, well done rewiew

WHY THA FUCK IS IT 40 BUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not buying this thing over 27 British pounds oh hell no
Very nice model but its a 152. Only a sentamental few going to pay $40 odd US for a C152.
Exaccccctly.
