With feelings of great sadness my heart is hurting and I have fear in me where I have had calmness. My thoughts had awoken me , I do deeply care as I say with tears in my eyes. I hold my heart for all and especially those conflicted in war. I pray for those in Ukraine . As I sit here trying to block deeper negative thoughts. I hope health and safety be amongst you all .. thankyou
Yes, the war in Ukraine is stirring a lot of sad and painful feelings in a lot of us. Re trying to block the negative thoughts, for myself, they are just a manifestation of deeper pain, maybe from our personal trauma history. And when the deeper feelings are allowed to connect fully in the body and being, the feelings can become what they are (maybe childhood feelings of abandonment, or...?) and like waves can rise and move through, and then dissipate. My experience, anyway. Gentle breathing into the pain helps it to begin to release and flow. Wishing us all the very best.

Every life that was taken from their families makes me pause and think about the peaceful native Americans. What would life be like if they built a wall to keep us out. Our lands would not be stripped of its resources, we would learn to respect each other, our. lands would be abundant and provide every living thing with food and shelter, we would love one another, and give glory to our Lord.

I am an old white man of 76 years , i know how the native american Indian was so miss treated and how his heritage was taken from them. listening to this makes me cry for the times that the land was treated and cared for by people who knew the earth as a mother and not as something to be raped and plundered . If there is such a thing as coming back to earth after death, there is nothing i would love more than be sitting on a horses back looking out over such beauty.This flute music opens my inner man to what life is all about THANK YOU.

This music is a beautiful mixture of Native American flute tunes with modern (western) instrumental music. It is for me a beautiful example how it COULD have been if indigenous culture and western culture had come together in harmony. Instead the indigenous culture was completely destroyed by us Europeans. Now we rediscover it. We should undo the harm we have inflicted on indigenous people, their land and spirituality and learn from them - and from our terrible mistakes. So that we may create harmony and coexistence at last, just like in this beautiful music.
For the most part those of us here now, and it’s all we have to work with, are peace lovers and just hope to raise our families as well and to be left alone. There still are evil forces at work that were here and their downliners are carrying on that love for hatred, turmoil and upheavals.. most of us feel disgust with the past too. In 1500 Scotland and England, the Protestants and Catholics were killing each other all over the place as well over religion, just like the Middle East issues today. It’s truly saddening. Greed and power get the upper hand fast, but hopefully for the next 4-8 years a bit more peace can cover all of us. . And perhaps surprise us all….We deserve it. Your comment is well said… ♥️
You're right. We can't change the past but people are still trying to make us invisible. We are no longer called Indian. We're native American. Every person born in America is native American so we are invisible for what we stood for. Too this day it breaks my heart to think about my grandfather (full blood Chicksaw) talk about the abuse they endured in WHITE schools. Thousands of Indian kids murdered by school personnel and it wasn't just in America. Kids were sent to different countries after they were captured and stolen from the parents.

That's what the European settlers called the Natives as they originally thought they had arrived in India and the name just stuck. I have a huge respect for your people and it's a real tragedy what they endured during the genocides and Americanization projects, but as long as people like yourself keep their memory and traditions alive, they'll never truly die. The past can't be undone, but hopefully people can learn from it and prevent it from ever happening again. Stay safe and stay strong, friend. Never forget where you came from.

According to my family, I'm descended from a great warrior chief of my native roots. My grandmother, who was native and passed away a few years ago, spoke of someone named Moon Wolf and what he did in the War of 1812 for the Canadian side. I don't know if everything she told me was true, but it was a nice story to hear. I only hope that I am related to someone so brave and honored among our people. In a way, this music helps me reconnect to Mother Earth and feel her embrace as I drift to sleep. Thanks for posting this.
@@elenvosten4575 It's been years since I last heard the story. But I remember most of it. Back in 1812, the British colonies in what was known as British North America at the time, needed scouts and troops that knew the lay of the land. Moon Wolf, at that time, was a well respected hunter to our people and had proved himself as a warrior in several tribal and colonist battles. One day, a small group of British colonists had entered what is now the Fraser Canyon. Moon Wolf and several others had seen them from up high on the cliffs and waited. Upon reaching an area the Natives knew, the colonists were quickly surrounded. But, rather than try to fight, one of the colonists said, "Wait! We mean you no harm. We've come to ask for your help." My ancestor was intrigued by this and sent word to the elders, who allowed the colonists to meet and speak with them, provided that no weapons were allowed on both sides. They had explained to the elders that Americans were devils who'd kill and pillage as they made their way north. Our elders, some of whom having been to the USA, weren't convinced and replied, "They pose no threat to us. Why should we get involved in a white man's war that has nothing to do with our people?" The British quickly made an offer to the elders, saying that they could have whatever land they chose if they agreed to help. After almost 3 days of talking, the elders finally agreed and sent 5 Braves with the colonists. My ancestor included. Moon Wolf and his follow Braves taught any colonists they found about the landscapes, where the best vantage points were, and how to set traps that were easily hidden. He killed many men and completed trials that would eventually make him qualified to be a chief. I don't remember what the trials were, but I know that if you completed 6 of them you became a chief. When Moon Wolf returned, only he and 2 of the other Braves came back. The other 2 had died in battle and were carried back. My ancestor received the title and told the colonists that him and his people would like to stay in what is now the Fraser Valley area. However, after Moon Wolf passed away in 1842, our people were driven into the Fraser Canyon with only a handful staying in the actual valley. The only places we have in modern times now was a little town of Lytton and the reservations in the area. At least, it was. Until Lytton burned down in back 2021 because of a massive forest fire that started from a passing train. Anyway, that's the story I was told about my ancestor from my grandmother. I wish I could prove it, but there aren't many records about the War Of 1812 and who was involved in it.

This music is a beautiful mixture of Native American flute tunes with modern (western) instrumental music. It is for me a beautiful example how it COULD have been if indigenous culture and western culture had come together in harmony. Instead the indigenous culture was completely destroyed by us Europeans. Now we rediscover it. We should undo the harm we have inflicted on indigenous people, their land and spirituality and learn from them - and from our terrible mistakes. So that we may create harmony and coexistence at last, just like in this beautiful music.

For the most part those of us here now, and it’s all we have to work with, are peace lovers and just hope to raise our families as well and to be left alone.
There still are evil forces at work that were here and their downliners are carrying on that love for hatred, turmoil and upheavals.. most of us feel disgust with the past too.
In 1500 Scotland and England, the Protestants and Catholics were killing each other all over the place as well over religion, just like the Middle East issues today. It’s truly saddening.
Greed and power get the upper hand fast, but hopefully for the next 4-8 years a bit more peace can cover all of us. . And perhaps surprise us all….We deserve it. Your comment is well said… ♥️

You're right. We can't change the past but people are still trying to make us invisible. We are no longer called Indian. We're native American. Every person born in America is native American so we are invisible for what we stood for. Too this day it breaks my heart to think about my grandfather (full blood Chicksaw) talk about the abuse they endured in WHITE schools. Thousands of Indian kids murdered by school personnel and it wasn't just in America. Kids were sent to different countries after they were captured and stolen from the parents.
@@darkeststar3640 Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't Indian the wrong term for your people too? That's what the European settlers called the Natives as they originally thought they had arrived in India and the name just stuck. I have a huge respect for your people and it's a real tragedy what they endured during the genocides and Americanization projects, but as long as people like yourself keep their memory and traditions alive, they'll never truly die. The past can't be undone, but hopefully people can learn from it and prevent it from ever happening again. Stay safe and stay strong, friend. Never forget where you came from.

According to my family, I'm descended from a great warrior chief of my native roots. My grandmother, who was native and passed away a few years ago, spoke of someone named Moon Wolf and what he did in the War of 1812 for the Canadian side. I don't know if everything she told me was true, but it was a nice story to hear. I only hope that I am related to someone so brave and honored among our people. In a way, this music helps me reconnect to Mother Earth and feel her embrace as I drift to sleep. Thanks for posting this.

@@elenvosten4575 It's been years since I last heard the story. But I remember most of it.
Back in 1812, the British colonies in what was known as British North America at the time, needed scouts and troops that knew the lay of the land. Moon Wolf, at that time, was a well respected hunter to our people and had proved himself as a warrior in several tribal and colonist battles. One day, a small group of British colonists had entered what is now the Fraser Canyon. Moon Wolf and several others had seen them from up high on the cliffs and waited. Upon reaching an area the Natives knew, the colonists were quickly surrounded. But, rather than try to fight, one of the colonists said, "Wait! We mean you no harm. We've come to ask for your help." My ancestor was intrigued by this and sent word to the elders, who allowed the colonists to meet and speak with them, provided that no weapons were allowed on both sides. They had explained to the elders that Americans were devils who'd kill and pillage as they made their way north. Our elders, some of whom having been to the USA, weren't convinced and replied, "They pose no threat to us. Why should we get involved in a white man's war that has nothing to do with our people?" The British quickly made an offer to the elders, saying that they could have whatever land they chose if they agreed to help. After almost 3 days of talking, the elders finally agreed and sent 5 Braves with the colonists. My ancestor included.
Moon Wolf and his follow Braves taught any colonists they found about the landscapes, where the best vantage points were, and how to set traps that were easily hidden. He killed many men and completed trials that would eventually make him qualified to be a chief. I don't remember what the trials were, but I know that if you completed 6 of them you became a chief. When Moon Wolf returned, only he and 2 of the other Braves came back. The other 2 had died in battle and were carried back. My ancestor received the title and told the colonists that him and his people would like to stay in what is now the Fraser Valley area. However, after Moon Wolf passed away in 1842, our people were driven into the Fraser Canyon with only a handful staying in the actual valley. The only places we have in modern times now was a little town of Lytton and the reservations in the area.
At least, it was. Until Lytton burned down in back 2021 because of a massive forest fire that started from a passing train.
Anyway, that's the story I was told about my ancestor from my grandmother. I wish I could prove it, but there aren't many records about the War Of 1812 and who was involved in it.
